Nice quiet street in the middle of the city”
Stayed 1 week and I loved the location. Walking distance to Times Square and very near Central Park. Near 2 subway stations, Dunkin Donuts a few steps away and Dig Inn is a great place to get food in front of the hotel. There are 2 computers at the lobby which we used for booking our Broadway tickets, airport shuttle and checking in our flights. It's between 5th and 6th Ave which gets really busy but the street itself is quiet which makes for a great location.
Front desk - miss Chin is helpful. Concierge is kind and polite, very obliging too. Housekeeper is prompt and always leave the room clean and tidy. Location is very centralized. Food is everywhere. You can also order pizza delivery to hotel at 4am in the morning. Ask front desk and they hv a number to call Ray’s pizza. Gym is 24hrs, though basic but it’s good enough for a quick workout.
Everything costs extra! ”
We got a great deal by booking really early and I know it worked out to a 3rd of the price. But breakfast was insanely expensive e so we skipped it and we still had to pay $14.95USD for WiFi. Hostels even have free WiFi these days.
We picked the perfect hotel ”
We were I town for a big wedding and everyone wanted to stay at some other ultra fancy and pricy hotel, like 5 mins away from here. I spent the whole trip talking about what a perfect location this hotel was and how greatl the staff was! We saved a ton of money, and plan on booking here again soon!
Great location and clean but needs an uplift”
The location was great and our room was clean even though it was dated. The WiFi was $15 per day and even though our room said it had a mini bar and fridge we were told it was an extra $35 per day. Also, when we were checking out, looked under the bed to make sure we didn't forget anything we noticed that there is no carpet under the bed... funny.
Good n safe location, clean boutique hotel”
This is my 3rd times staying at Shoreham. Convenient location with friendly staffs, although rooms are small but layout is good n clean. Value for the money. Highly recommended
Generally this hotel falls below the level I have come to expect in this price range in NYC. It is in desperate need of a refurb. Only the location and some friendly staff made up for the shortfall in standards. The carpets are very grotty, the lifts are incredibly noisy and right next to the bedrooms making sleep difficult. A loud beeping occured all night in one. The bath tub did not work at all which I was not told about and no apology was offered. The bar opens at 5pm and closes at 11pm prompt and has no atmosphere, although the bar staff were friendly enough. The furniture is old and tired in the bedrooms. I stayed here eight years ago and it was fine but I would strongly advise looking elsewhere now.
Great location, just needs to brush up on a few things”
Being put in a pent house room on check in was great, but when we got to our room someone was already in there, which is pretty shocking but we are very easy going, went to reception to tell them and we got issued in room 205, 8 floors lower with no view and a basic room, if it was me I would have bent over backwards to give us a similar room to what we were originally given. The staff in the bar were good and the night staff guy was very friendly, the door staff, helpers in green were friendly and could teach the woman on check in a few manners
Great hotel for those not wanting to spend a fortune but be in Manhattan ”
Overly spacious 1 bedroom queen suite, very friendly staff, top location, nothing was a problem
A great mid town hotel in the 'boutique' stylee!”
Stayed here recently for 6 nights, having stayed for the first time around 2000 and loved it both times Its not as ' boutiquey' as it was then it feels a little less sophisticated , unless thats just us . We had a standard king room and it was great. Comfy bed nice closet with safe and in room ironing board. Storage was adequate. Bathroom good, shower powerful and hot. the bed was super comfy and we slept really well! We didnt use anything other than the bar a couple of evenings for pre diner drinkies. The bar man was a lovely young man Gabriel who offered some super happy hour cocktails - although we noticed that was very much his choice and not on offered on the nights he wasnt there. We didnt have breakfast so cant comment. The reception staff whom we met at check in and check out only were very effecient. The location is great and theres a couple of handy pubs nearby for stop offs!
Hotel is in a great location about 10 mins from Times Square and Central Park off a quiet street so traffic noise wasn’t an issue for us. Beds were really comfy. Rooms were okay size enough for 2 people and suitcases. No tea/coffee making but safe, iron, tv, hairdryer.
Hotel Shorehan has a nordic, simple style. Room was clean, but small - very punctual housekeeping. Bed was excellent, and the flat screen TV with extensive channel selection helped to relax after busy day in town. Small minibar/fridge helped foods and drinks to keep cold. Check out was easy & everything went well with Agoda voucher. Nothing to complain about in overall, very good experience!
Shoreham Hotel - the place to stay for convenience”
The Shoreham hotel is located in 55th St of New York City. Only minutes away from 5th Ave and restaurants. Hotel staff warmly welcomed me and my husband, a complementary champagne/sparkling water was provided on our arrival. We got a special promotional rate. It was great value for our stay.
Review of the Shoreham Hotel NYC”
Overall the hotel was fine for the price. It had a great location, fun bar and great bartender. The rooms were tiny. The bathroom was really small with a rather strange shower (one entire wall was mirrored) with to few towels and no ventilation.
Noisy Air Conditioning!”
The hotel is in a great location and the room size was excellent for New York (we were in a penthouse room). However the air conditioning unit was so noisy, even when turned off, that we really struggled sleeping. The bathroom had no extractor fan so everything in the room was damp after a shower. I can't comment on the jacuzzi tub as it was not working when we stayed. Although the room has ironing facilities I wouldn't rely on them - the ironing board was tiny and the cover so old and thin that the frames mesh imprinted on clothes. The wi-fi was very expensive - I would expect it to be included in the room at a 4 star hotel.
The rooms need total upgrade, it is old over used
Very good location. Staff friendly. Next time we would like to have a room facing the front of the hotel instead of the back. The room was very good in size. My daughter had one that was very tiny.
I'll stay again if i come back to NYC. But it's small for two to use. It's suitable for one.
Best value for money”
Clean room, exquisite bed and nice staff. Short walk to 5th Avenue and many good restaurants.
Great location, room was adequate”
Good location for exploring NYC by foot. Metal design of the bathroom feels rather sterile.
