Very Nice People, Good Value for Money”

Pros- The owner and his family were genuinely nice people and always ensured we were happy during our stay. We stayed in the dorm room which was cozy and ended up being our own private room because it wasn’t busy. The beds were very clean, comfy, and suited with a nice trusty mosquito net. It is located close to a main pier on the canal and easy access for getting a boat to onto Inle lake. About a 10 minute walk to some of the main restaurant streets. Bikes cost 1500 kyat for the day and were reliable. Cons: The wifi in Nyaung Shwe is generally poor but worse so here. You will have to ask the owner to turn it on which involves him calling the company and entering in a number off a scratch ticket which he has to buy individually so we didn’t want to be an inconvenience. Pro tip for Myanmar is to get a SIM card upon arriving as wifi is not great except in major cities. Overall our stay here was memorable and would definitely recommend for the budget savvy traveller.

Traditional house with nice family”

I chose the guest house for it's impressive architecture and the price. It's a traditional house in which the owner's three generation family are living. They're very nice and helpful. Maybe it has a low price because of it's location but Nyaung Shwe is a very small village, about 1.5km diameter, so you can ride around on a bike (1500ks/day) or just walking. There's a chanel passing by the house next to an immensity field. If you go along the channel in early morning or sunset, you'll find many woman washing in the channel or children playing volleyball in yards. The village residents are very friendly. We really had wonderful days there.

Great value for money in a wonderful location”

We were delighted to find that this little gem was away from the hustle and bustle of the centre of town and had an uninterrupted view out towards Inle Lake. Our room was particularly spacious and hot water was available constantly. The charming owner loves music, especially rock and roll, so if you happen to have an instrument with you or can play the violin, you might just find yourself accompanying him to one or two of his favourite numbers. Had wifi been provided we would have scored 5/5, but as it's available nearby this is no major inconvenience. We were sorry to leave and would like to thank the owners for their help and recommendations and for making our stay such a pleasurable one.

Nice balcony and very friendly owners”

Next to the channel going to the Inle Lake, however quiet place. Nice big balcony to enjoy the landscape (no building in front). The room was big, but mattress directly on the floor. It was not a problem at all though. Choice of breakfast between western and burmese food, If asked, the owners can organize boat trip, taxi, and they rent bikes.

Best view”

I was sleeping in the dormitory area which was so nice, had a real backpacking. The view from the balcony is the best. Highly recommend this place. The breakfast is really good, they have two options and I always went for the local one 5/5! Walking distance to the pier to take a Inle Lake boat tour

Budget Oasis in a Booming Town”

I was ill from my weeks in Myanmar and booked this place after looking at the reviews and photos as I needed a place to recuperate. Do yourself a favor and book the rooms with the ensuite. They are bigger and more comfortable with clean showers and toilets. I was alone and thought the single room would cheap since it came with a shared shower and toilet. The shared facility is not cleaned everyday and it is not as clean looking as those in the ensuites. Not always replenished with toilet paper, I brought my own. The bins are also not emptied regularly, so they are full of used paper. The water pressure and hot water is reliable though. That said, the view is unrivaled. It faces the fields and the mountains so it is very peaceful. The only noise is that you get from the odd motorbike that passes or the boats from the jetty about 2 minutes walk away. The single room cost as much as a bed in a dorm. But it comes with a common balcony for breakfast and a superb sunrise. Breakfast is simple with choices of Shan noodle in soup, egg fried rice or eggs with toast. My recommendation would be the noodles. Free purified water in the living room. Bring your own bottle. You can bring your own food and drinks from outside although the good lady of the house can cook you some simple fare. You seldom meet solo travelers here. It is not a dorm and people don't stay in inle for many days. Hence it might be tough to look for people to share a boat or tour. I didn't book any tours nor bikes from them as they are not expensive than the rest. Wifi is poor. It is only available 7-9pm and the connection is poor like in most places in Myanmar. Expect only whatsapp and some other chat apps to work well. Don't expect to send photos. If you are lucky, just if, Safari might work for you. They have their telly on English channels so you can always join in for a movie downstairs with armchairs. They also close their gates about 10pm or earlier so expect to be locked out if you return

A very nice place to stay!”

The Inn lies outside the crowded touristic street in a calm spot with a beautiful view over the fields. The owner couple is very nice and helpful, they can arrange a boat for renting or a taxi to the Heho airport for a reasonable price (boat: 25 000 kyat/day, taxi: 15 000 as for January 2017).

Excellent service at minimunm price.”

I have arrived by night bus at 4am, and gentleman at reception actually checked me in, which was a big favor! I briefly mentioned that I want a boat tour, and he arrange it for me by breakfast (in 4 hours from arrival). Not at best price you can get if you go and bargain yourself a the pier, just at general hotel rate. They also serve nice breakfast and got bicycles for rent. Overall I was quite pleased by service and hospitality.

Nice place to relax after trek”

Good value for Inle and a great place to stay after trekking from Kalaw, especially because it's right next to where the boats drop you off. Terrace area is great and staff was helpful, but just be warned that the wifi doesn't work. They said it would work only between 7 and 10pm but we were not able to connect. Other than that, would definitely recommend!

Look no further!”

This was the perfect place to stay. Booked for 3 days ended up staying 6. The guest house is on the outskirts of the town, there's no tourists around to be seen just a few locals going on with their daily business. From the breakfast terrace you're looking at fields and mountains. And it's less than 10 min walk to the town centre! I booked a single room with shared barroom but was given spacious big room with a large bathroom instead. The shower pressure is great, water is hot. Bed linen is pristine white and the mattress so comfortable. The couple who run this guest house are so charismatic and also very kind and gentle people. It is a hidden gem. Look no further!

Awesome! - We arrived in at 3:45am and there were no place to wait until morning, so we walked to this guesthouse. The owner willingly let us checked in at 4am and we could actually get a shower and snooze away the bus-tiredness. Shan noodle breakfast is nice, they provide service for Bus ticket booking (they recommend Elite Express and it was the best bus we have experience in Myanmar), they also provide service of bicycle rental (we started after lunch and owner automatically gv us 1/2 day discount). The view out of the breakfast area at 2nd floor befofe 7am is magical. Hot water and water pressure is excellent, room is spacious. Awesome! will definitely go back again.

I loved the quiet location, by the river and next to a small canal. You could hear crickets at night and it was very peaceful. The room was not exciting, but fine. Fairly clean but the bathroom could have been a lot better. For a cheap place to stay it was a good deal, but not the nicest guesthouse/hostel I've ever stayed at.
