It’s also in a convenient location, with easy access to local attractions, restaurants, and public transport. However, I did have an issue with the no-shoes policy in the common areas. While I understand the intention to keep the space clean, I was surprised to be told I couldn’t wear my own Havaianas—even after I explained they were my designated indoor sandals. One staff member insisted, raising his voice, that that type of footwear wasn’t allowed, which felt unnecessary and a bit uncomfortable. What’s more concerning is that everyone ends up walking barefoot in shared spaces, which doesn’t seem particularly hygienic. It feels counterintuitive, especially considering you don't know where others’ feet have been or what they might be carrying. I still enjoyed my stay, but I think this policy could be handled with more flexibility and clearer communication.

The staff are warm, friendly, and always ready to help with directions or recommendations, which makes the stay even more enjoyable. Breakfast is simple but a nice touch to start the day. Overall, Siam Eco Hostel is an excellent value-for-money option for solo travelers, backpackers, or anyone looking for a clean, safe, and well-located stay in Bangkok.
Best location to beat the hot summer - on the right of the hostel is BTS Ratchathewi (quickly hop onto the air-conditioned train!) - on the left is 7-11 where u buy the 1.5L water to hydrate daily Julie was super welcoming and cheerful most of the time. She looks happy even when not smiling. Thanks for the hospitality. (: Breakfast was simple (cereals w milk, banana, biscuits, coffee or milo - all of them you prepare yourself, super easy) and they don’t judge how much you take. And topped up promptly by staff almost every 15-30min. Super clean. Witnessed how the 2 young girls cleaned every toilet daily, sweeped and mopped every floor and table, and of cos changed every bed linen before the next client arrives. Good job Julie and 2 girls! Truly enjoyed my stay here! Will come back again. (: 10/10. P.S. I stayed in the room facing a busy traffic junction. Hence can be rather noisy even past midnight. Can try to request rooms not-facing the junction la. After the first night, kinda got used to the traffic noise. Also, u gotta climb up to level 5 depending where u stay. Despite these, I’d say 10/10… for cleanliness, safety, location and hospitality. Well done guys.

“Best Hostel”
For me, this is one of the best hostel. It’s close to Ratchathewi Station and few steps to the hostel which is on your left. There’s an elevator on the station going down. Yes, they don’t allow rubber slipper inside but if you’re not use to walk around barefooted, you can bring and use your own disposable “hotel” slipper. Staff at the reception welcome you with a smile and they’re friendly and very accommodating especially Ms Lee (owner of the hostel). If you’re a senior and can’t carry your luggage to your room, Sok, the only male staff will be happy to assist you if he’s around. 😉 There’s also a gentleman, guest of the hostel who assisted me in bringing down my luggage on my last day. Thank you to him too. ♥️ If ever the young ladies who’s in charge of the cleanliness who they said don’t smile, I do believe that if you just greet them and smile, they will do the same to you. They speak and understand very little english so I would say that they’re hesitant to talk to us. They also have a handy weighing scale if you want to weigh your luggage. It’s a walking distance to Tofu Emporium, Pratunam & Platinum Mall. If you can still manage to walk, you can proceed to Big C… Central World. 👍 If your flight is after check-out, you can leave your things up to 8pm. So, I therefore conclude that I will stay in this hostel again on my next visit to Bangkok. You can try it too.
