The hotel is in excellent central location. Walking distance is to markets, shopping malls, food courts. However inside my room is dark. Only one light bulb is working. This hotel is old so old is the drainage system. Smell from drainage is always in my room even though I always kept rest room door closed. Thuy Australia

The hotel is very close to train stn (rachaprarop) and 5 minute walk to pratunam market. A very spacious room we had with my mom. With elevator and what I liked the most on this hotel is very spacious bathroom. 😊

A budget friendly hotel for a short stay ”
hotel near to the airport railway link and convenient to travel to the airport. it is near to pratunam market and shopping mall. convenient stores are near-by as well. Just find it not logical that they provide a set of key with a card tag ( to obtain electricity in room once inserted) - tightly secured together .. and whenever you leave the room, you have to take the set with you and all electricity is cut off (including the fridge) it is nice that they provide fridge in the room, but no point to put stuff in the fridge when you want to leave the room. the bathroom was decent, towels provided and overall was a alright stay.

Room arent as nice as the pictures lead u to believe. However their day time receptionist is great. She was very helpful with directions and where to go but do not book any tour service from them or taxi as they will act as the middle man and u get ripped off.

Average Hotel”
I believe all of the services will be extra charged. They do not smile with customers, only response as requirement. The room has the smell and the view is facing dumb stock from Baiyoke hotel. I found mosquitoes from the living room and both two bed rooms. Lights are dimple and noisy from the Sky train's movement until midnight. When I asked the hotel for helping to call a taxi to airport, they have their own price chart so I had to look from the outside in advance. The only bonus is the bed is okay and they clean everyday.

Old weary place, some rooms don't have windows, rude personnel”
The (only) good thing about this hotel is the location - easy to get here from train station (Ratchaprarop), very close to Baiyoke Sky hotel. Here come the cons. 1. We rent 3 rooms. One of them didn't have a window. Another one did have a window, but the view was like in a horror movie: the balcony and... the wall of another building. It was like 1 meter from the window and it was so dark there so that they had to put a light which didn't make it any better. There were problems with lights, locks and water. AC was ok 2. They take a 500THB deposit per room. 3. They have a "conflict menu" and they tried charging us 150 THB for "dirty sheets" upon the checkout. It was a light trace of water-based hair color on the pillow. Ended up paying them 50 THB. So ridiculous. 4. Their taxi prices are much higher than what you can get just around the corner at Baiyoke. It's the worst place I've ever stayed at, and I travel quite often. You can get a better quality for the same price in the same area.

The only pro this hotel has is its location (still many taxi drivers don't know it so it's easier to go to Baiyoke hotel). The cons are many: 1. Very low quality of the rooms. Ended up paying them 50 THB, but that was a complete nonsense. 3. Their taxi prices are much higher than what you can get at Baiyoke just around the corner. I believe we were not demanding visitors at all and we didn't expect much, but this hotel was really bad. I would not recommend it to anyone. You can get a better quality in the same area for the same price.

Very weird towel policy”
Noisy room, hard mattress, no smoke detectors in the room (very scary). But the best was at the check out. They checked the room before giving me back the deposit (500 THB) and that's fine. But it took longer than usual. Finally, I was summoned to the reception desk and the receptionist started to complain that the towels were a bit dirty. She had the towels on the counter and pointing at them. Yes, guilty as charged, I used them to wipe my body and they were not immaculate. Guess what: I had to argue to get my deposit money back! It was surreal. If they were serious, they should have told me at check in. They even argued that this is common in Thailand (it is not).

Value for money and very close to airport railway”
We stayed at Siam Star Hotel from May 10-13, 2013. We booked 5 rooms and we were given 5 different rooms (others with bathtub, larger rooms, newer airconditioning unit) all with the same price for a standard room. Overall, our experience in this hotel was superb. Our taxi drivers didn't had a hard time finding this hotel coz we showed them copies of the hotel's name written in Thai. The location is perfect. Very close to ratchaprarop airport railway station. Walking distance to Pratunam market and 15 mins walk to Platinum mall. There's also very cheap massage parlors nearby the hotel. Staffs were friendly and very accomodating. We arrived 1:00am from our flight and we were surprised a staff was waiting for us. ( unlike previous reviews from other travelers). Everything went on smoothly. There's free wifi access and the connection was incredibly fast. Complimentary bottled waters were given daily. Towels were changed everyday. The only downside- they dont provide bathroom essentials like soap and shampoo. Hair dryer and straightening iron can be borrowed at the lobby with a refundable deposit. I would definitely stay again at this hotel and recommend to all my friends and family.

Clean with friendly staff and well located”
We were Bangkok in the begening of September 2012. My parents and me. We booked a double room online since the rates are very low planning to tka an extra bed. Once we were there we noticed a double room does not have much space to accomadate three people and they do not give extra beds either. So we switched to a triple room. That was fantastic. Very specious with well air condinioning, a refrigerator and a TV. Room service was provided everyday. The rooms are very clean specialy the barthrooms are perfectly cleansed. The staff was friendly. Siam star is also well located near the BTS station (walking distance) which you can take the sky train to the air port as well as any other place. You can also walk to Pratunam market and Indra squre from here. The Victory monument market is also one station ahead. We went to see Wat Pho by train too. It was very easy and cheap to travel than taking taxi or tuk tuk. Overall this hotel is over the expectations. We had a happy stay there for a resonable price.

Centrally located, friendly staff, value for money”
siam star hotel was a surprise. it's located in the heart of pratunam, a central shopping area, beside landmarks like baiyoke indra regent and an airport link train station. in fact, it's just a block away from the station, making your transit from the airport fast, inexpensive (at 40b) and convenient. it's located at a side street - soi 5, passing through other accommodations like pr place and kc place & apartments. i stayed in a room at the 6th floor - 608, which is a corner room facing the train station and a compound used both as parking space and garbage dump of the surrounding area. this makes walking into the hotel a smelly affair; yes, garbage dump is located beside the hotel entrance. it was a good thing my room was too high for the stink down below. my room wax newly renovated and furnished and i loved it. i paid for a double but i was given a 2-bed room though i would prefer one huge bed since i was alone. everything in the room looked new: the tv, the ac, the comfortable beds and their nice smelling, fresh sheets; the lampshade, the dresser; the newly finished tiles at the shower room - the grout still white and without molds. everything worked in this room, including the elevator. while most rooms all over thailand during this almost-3weeks travel have exercised a "no-smoking" policy (or there's a 2,000b penalty), their rooms offer ashtrays and even has signs saying "please don't throw your condoms in the bowl". as if that's not telling enough, their breakfast set meals (which isn't part of the agoda booking) is priced at a suggestive 69b. there was even a "suggestion" that i could indeed bring "visitors" since i have 2 beds anyway. this practice is largely frowned at in other hotels, i.e. bringing in locals as room guests. the lobby is welcoming & the staff very accommodating. it has a very central location - i can walk to platinum mall, all the way to central world, the siam malls and mbk. food at the "star restaurant" are inexpensive & delec

Enjoyable Stay”
We stayed for 5 days 4 nights in Siam Star Hotel, already booked for 2 rooms. Surprisingly when we arrived at the hotel, the staff upgraded our room to a larger room, one big room with 2 sub rooms plus living room inside without additional price. The staffs were friendly, they spoke English fluently. The location is the best, easy access to Shopping Market (Pratunam market) and Airport Link. Overall highly recommended for the price charged.

I am very satisfied to stay at siam star hotel. at first I was having trouble finding the location because of its location in a small way. but after I asked many local people who were very friendly help show the way, I am finally able to find siam star hotel. apparently its location is located just below the hotel baiyoke, so it is very easy to find it actually. I had read the reviews about the smell of garbage was annoying, is right behind the hotel siam is a garbage dump, but I did not smell anything. what i like about this hotel is its location which is very close to the pratunam market, and close to the airport Raillink. I suggest if there are plans to bangkok, stay at this hotel, as well as the price is cheap, very good location, and close to shopping centers with lower-priced items, so we do not need to bring clothes, shoes or anything because we can directly buy in pratunam. for my trip to bangkok next time i would stay again at siam star hotel!!
