Oldie but goldie”
This older hotel is well maintained, well staffed, and has the advantage of rooms which, in general, are larger than more modern hotels. Location is beside the city's ring road making it excellent for people travelling throughout the country. Guests should have their own vehicle. A big Big C is 5 minutes away. Swimming pool is sufficiently large for proper swimming.

As a resident of Vientiane, I periodically visited Udon Thani before the COVID pandemice. During that time, my family built a great affinity for Siamgrand, especially the manager and the breakfast manager. Unfortunately, the COVID pandemic hit Siamgrand particularly hard. There were almost no rooms available when I sought to book, yet there were even fewer customers while we were there. The staff that we knew before are gone, and the new staff is not a friendly. They are professional and not rude, but they lack that specific interest in customers that the former staff had. The most frustrating thing was finding out that not only is the breakfast buffet gone, but the options for breakfast are an additional 200 baht per person. I am saddened to say that my family will be finding a new hotel to stay in when we next visit Udon Thani, as Siamgrand appears to be going out of business. :(

The word grand has nothing to do with luxury, it only reflects to the size of the hotel. It’s clean, staff is friendly, rooms very spacious. All is functional but hardly decorations, so the whole set-up appears a bit cold. We had one day a buffet breakfast, which was purely focused on Thais customers. Next day we could only choose from 3 pre1arranged breakfast sets. Both breakfast sausages etc cold served. I would classify it as a terrible breakfast service for international travelers. Next time I would pick another hotel.

Sometimes you need to wait until people get it right. Booked Tub/Shower room, only get Shower... Always go to the reservation confirmation to confirm. To fill the hotel with guests, take a lot of logistics, especially when fron desk staff no no read reservation details.

Found cockroach in my room what they do was provide me a bottle of spray and said “you can have it” which we found 2 in the room. No apologies or changing room either. I’ll not only recommended but will also make an awareness of the service.

always good ... we are frequent guests at the siamgrand ... we've tried other hotels including the centara udon thani and still go back to the siamgrand ... the only suggestion i have is that they should replace dirty tablecloths ... i believe from my last suggestion, I noticed that they now use place mats, which is much better, but the table cloths are still stained and should be replaced/washed...
