Great location with spectacular view”
This is the third time my family and I came to Sibu Island Resort for a relaxing stress-free vacation. My parents adored the island. As for me and my husband, the first time was the best time of all time because at that time there were only us and another two couples on the island. It felt like the resort was ours. Nevertheless, any trip to Sibu Island was never a letdown. This time we tried a new activity called Island Hopping. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery during the boat cruise and stopped at a nearby village in Besar Sibu Island and enjoyed fresh delicious squids for our evening meals. We plan to make Sibu Island Resort a yearly destination for our vacation. So far, we have made it for two consecutive years.
Nice resort if you are looking for a short getaway”
enjoy my 2d1n stay there. a comfortable drive from sg to tanjung leman jetty. reach jetty at around 945am. register at the counter to get boarding pass and drop our luggage. boat set off at 1130am sharp. it takes about 45 minutes to reach sibu island resort. we were given welcome drinks and ushered to the resort lobby. check-in was smooth. our room is located quite far away from the lobby but close to the beach. the resort staff was nice enough to drop off our luggage right in front of room. standard room and toilet was clean. in the afternoon, we booked a snorkelling trip to pulau kukus. it's a bit disappointing as we did not see a lot of fishes and most of the corals were dead. we explored the resort in the evening. there were 3 beaches on the island. clean and well maintained. at night, we had our dinner in the one and only restaurant on the island. price was standard and the food was nice. there was a band as well. one can enjoy listening to the music/songs while having dinner or just chill by the poolside. the next morning, we had a buffet breakfast. not much variety, but the basic that you would have expected. at around 9am, one can go to the minizoo to feed deers, rabbit, etc. there were fish feeding too. overall, it is an enjoyable stay if you are looking for a short getaway. *one must bring insect repellent because there were a lot of sandflies!
Lovely Hotel, Great Service and Awesome Place”
Sibu Island Resort is a great place to spend 2-3 days when you just looking for a peaceful and relaxing time with yourself. After booking the hotel, I was a little skeptical about my decision considering this is the only hotel on the island but the place well exceeded my expectations. This is a very romantic island for couples and there are amples of things one can do on the island. This is not the place if you are going for shopping etc.
great hotel and good service”
hotel condition are good order. Staff also good and always with a smile. Staying there for 3 days 2 night more convinience. Recommended to others trevellers to take a package during booking. As you know, expensive food at island. Room at hill and nice view but Get tired before reach at room but bell boy service is very good during sending your luggage up to your door step. Strongly recommended location to other trevellers. Enjoy your journey. See you sibu island.
Overall conditiuon”
I'm been here last weekend, only have few people approx 30 pax (maybe because of Hari Raya). We seldom see people appeared when we walked around the resort and beach. I can say, it seem like I had booked the whole island. The water is clean, sand is white, environment is quite because only us. This is a good place if you do not like crowded people. Due to less people, we had privilege to upgrade the room without additional charge, and no time limited on equipment rental for water activities. Room Condition: Superior Room condition is very bad, dirty, poor utilities and poor wireless signal due to located far behind. After complained, we were entitle to upgrade to Serindit Suite, nice comfortable and clear. We strongly recommend you to go for this room. Dining/Breakfast: There is only one restaurant for you. Normally breakfast is included together with room booking, acceptable meal serves. Dinner is a-la-carte as per menu book, tourist price rate. But you can add on money to include buffet dinner during room booking. Location: Easy access from Jetty Tanjung Leman by ferry, with routine schedule 9am, 11.30am & 4pm. RM70 2way per person. Once you missed the ferry, you may offered for speed boat, RM220-250 per way trip (max 12 person per boat). Approx 20-30mins from Jetty to Sibu Island. Staff performance: Overall is moderate service performance. Value for money: Answer is No. Moderate goods & service with premium price. Thanks
GOOD BUT NOT ENOUGH”
i found that the pulau sibu environment is good but lack of activities. The internet speed is very slow and dont have any alcoholic drink sold at here. And the soft drinks sold at pulau sibu are very expensive
Quiet getaway”
we had a 3hour journey arranged by resort direct to tanjung leman jetty, had a smooth ride. reached earlier at 10.15am & first ferry leaves at 11.30am, however boarded ferry only at 12.15pm. warm welcome by resort staff & a 3piece band singing. checkin was smooth. kampung style chalet gave a different environment. though room is spacious, toilet & shower room looked little rundown. only a coffee house available for all meal periods serving great ala carte selections of asian, western & italian food. buffet had limited selection of only asian, mainly asian dishes & rice. disappointed as no bbq buffet was served on a saturday evening as advertised on website. staff were friendly & helpful. as it was rainy season, snorkelling was not advised. did land activities like flying fox, kids colouring activities, enjoyed the pool & beach. has a shallow pool with slide for toddlers. have to say surroundings of resort & beach not well kept. had a lovely sibu traditional massage at spa though its a little costly at rm162 for an hour. overall, an average trip. ideal place for quiet & peaceful getaway.
Great place and terrible customer service”
We really enjoyed the time in Sibu island. The resort was very beautiful...garden, deers freely walking around, nice swimming pool and beach. Very good beach as for swimming also snorchkling, many corals and fishes just 15meters from the beach, so don't need to take any snorkeling tour.... The room: was looking old and tired, however the bed was good, tv worked and hot water as well. The only negative thing from the room was, that it wasn't cleaned properly, dust everywhere, bathroom dirty, used soap left there, ... We requested cleaning again, and pointed all places which should b cleaned again.... But besides cleaning of floor , nothing have been done. Service: very unprofessional and not attentive service. Mainly in restaurant! It seems that they never ever received any training, and don't have any idea about anything there.... The only helpful person was a security men. Food: breakfast were ok, nothing impressive but for short stay we could manage. Dinner buffe was good... Well cooked, seasoned and tasty. So, if you are looking to spend a nice weekend in a beautiful island, which is not affected by mass tourism, in nice looking resort, with ok food and if you dont pay attention to details such as not well cleaned room (the dust on curtains had at least 0,5 cm) and careless customer service this is the right place to visit. I recommend only short stays, 2 to 3 nights.
Truely relaxing resor t!!!! We are back again !!!”
Truly relaxing resort that we could experienced because we hardly see any clock around in the resort, neither at the lobby nor else where in the resort area, so we did not need to rush for time. Service rendered by the staff at reception and restaurant was really impressed. There is no convenient shop in this island but a small kiosk run by the resort itself. It would be recommended to bring your own simple food like sardine/tuna, bread, instant noodles etc if you don't plan to take every of your meal at the one-and-only one restaurant. Nevertheless, opt for Ala carte food, strongly recommend beef rendang as pricing in the menu is reasonable. Ice cube could be requested from the restaurant for free!!! Deluxe room was comfort to stay as we were upgraded for free by the resort from superior standard package. Altho the toilet was bit of worn-out but overall still under good maintenance. Clotheshorse is available. Very convenient to reach pool side, lobby and Beach 1. We spent about 2 hrs sitting at pool side after dinner with our own drink as there was live-band available at the restaurant. The resort does have complimentary land activities such as deer feeding, jungle trekking, flying fox etc. Always refer to the recreational counter for more information. As deers and peacocks roaming freely at the resort area. We were able to feed the deers at our doorway. It was really relaxing sitting at beach 1 & 2 for sunset, even for a nap !!! Beach 1 – loads of humongous shells to collect. Beach 2, coral reef zone which is suitable for snorkeling. We did not snorkeling as it was monsoon season during our visit but … we broke our record that we collected more than 20kg of shells (@ beach 1) and brought back to mainland!!!!!! Luckily we did not bring much clothing.
Overall great package!”
being the only resort on the island means gives you the privacy as well as security. the whole resort is well developed and quite well maintained (for malaysian standards). plenty of beach chairs and even with the resort almost fully booked, we didn't feel the crowd (except during meal times). it's great value for money if you're looking for a quick getaway. not really ideal if you're a diving/snorkelling fanatic but it's really suited for those who just want to unwind or those with families.
LOvely hotel band service with a smil”
We stayed for 3 nights during Chinese New Year holidays, when we reached the hotel we're given welcome drink and advice what are the activities available at the resort. We really enjoyed the hospitality and service by the staff. The hotel is surrounded by animals, lovely plants and trees which made the place very suitable for family vacation and there's facilities given for team building such as rock climbing, flying fox, jungle trekking, etc. The best part of the island is the beaches, total of 4 with different sea views. There's also different types of suites available, such as honeymoon suites, family suites and normal superior rooms. Beside that, there's tennis court, spa and restaurant by the pool side, and Karaoke room. Enjoy the night moonwalk, and others than that there's island hopping and snockelling activities.
Nice secluded island with good facilities”
I booked this hotel after a little research on its isolated location. It's super quiet and the beaches are stunning, especially beach No 4. The food is good although I would recommend ordering from the menu rather than having the buffet. There are a few little issues though. The standard of finish is not fully up to what I expected for the cost. The worse aspect was the ferry costs. I would expect if you book onto a private island the ferry crossing would be included in the quoted price. It turns out its an additional RM70 each person. On the whole a nice hotel
great vacation at the affordable price”
A great vacation for honeymooners, family and friends. The beaches are well maintained and you can see the live corals and colorful fishes, 20 meters from the beach. We can see deers and peacocks freely wandering around the resort and if you are lucky, you can feed them as well. The resort is suitable for team building and company trip also because they offered a lot of activities and fun!
white castle sandy island”
Lovely stay for a family with their children on the island of sandy white beach with good scenery of jungle and sound of peacock in the morning and at dawn. After dinner, enjoying our night with sound of songs and beach wave. all of us enjoyed our stay and will be coming there again with proper entire. With land activities free of charge, we also enjoyed playing the bow and arrow but missed out the jungle tracking as we forgot to bring our tracking shoes.
Amazing Nature Retreat”
in short, me and my gfs had so much fun. we are close to nature with peacocks, goats and deers walking around together with us at walkways. clean and clear beach. resorts are clean but rather old and not quite maintained. safe box can't be used. therefore we have to use the main counter's locker room. inconvenience. for food, i would suggest order their malaysian specialty and not italian or western food. prices for activities range from rm50 for canoeing, snorkeling, banana boat and more. overall rating: 4/5. great getaway! i will go there again for sure!
Beautiful Island”
It is so nice to wake up in the morning to have deers and peacocks sitting at your front porch. The beach is so clean and the water crystal clear. To watch the sunset and the sunrise on this beautiful island is breathtaking.
isolated island in beautiful setting”
We were surprised when we arrived that the resort was the only one on the island. The resort had a nice feel to it and offered a number of different activities that you could do. The room was nice and there was plenty of room but looked like it needed some painting as there were marks on the walls and on the bedding. Buffet breakfasts were included in our booking but unfortunately when the resort was quiet there was no buffet available where we had to choose from a set menu and were not allowed to order things from the different set menus. This also happened one evening where there was no buffet available and the choice of food was restricted. We ordered off the A La Carte menu one night but they didnt have several of the dishes that we wanted from the menu. My husband ordered a chicken curry where the only chicken was a chicken bone with very little meat. The staff were fantastic though, very friendly, cheerful and extremely helpful.
Poor in every aspect”
Been in Sibu Island Resort last year and it seem great but food is bad. When we were there last week, is worst in service, food and room facilities. Reached hotel, no one helping us to carry our luggage and we have to carry it until lobby and to our room. Ask them where is room and they only use finger pointing direction and it take us 20 minutes to locate our room because no sign board showing room direction. The room condition eg.. door, sofa and safe deposit is not working? inform them to fix the safe deposit, they mention no battery and they only can replace the battery tomorrow morning after they buy from land. until 2pm next day ask them again and the come fix the battery but still not work due to old battery spoilt cause the PCB board fail? So nothing fix and no choice with no safe deposit? The bed have a lot of bugs that bite our whole family and don't think so they wash the bed linen and clean the mattress? My family regretted going on this trip and we wont be going back anytime soon until the management take action on the staff and renovation of the Hotel. Every nature in the Island is great but due to Management, supervision and condition of the resort causes every great memory become the bad and worst holiday. Regretted
Quiet getaway”
Pros - Peaceful and private island for a getaway. Deers and komodo dragons roam freely, giving a very unique feeling to the place. Cons - Not a lot of activities. Only 1 restaurant and provision shop with steep prices. Only source of food comes from the resort itself. Overall, we found the place to be acceptable. Bad first impression as bed was infested with beg bugs, even after changing the bed sheet twice. Itched all over. Offered a larger room and everything went breezily afterwords. Food was another problem as we had to depend solely on the resort. I advice to bring your own food before the ferry As we visited on a weekday, it was very quiet. Was told that the weekends are when the crowd comes in. Mostly of company events and staycations.
this was a nice resort we guess but long time agi”
not worth to call it a 4 star resort , dirty towels (with dry blood spots), even when asked for clean ones; ugly / dirty walls, ceiling, furniture, shower etc.; very dirty pool; aircon not able to control remote; closed spa; beautiful island and nature; hotel prices relatively exspensive (compared to MY mainland)
