HARI Residence & Spa

"We had a wonderful stay at Hari residence Hotel and spa. Even they managed to pick us up at the airport. Our flight was delayed but the driver waited for us with our name in his hands. When we arrived Kimnang was the one who acquainted us with our bookings, even escorted us to our rooms. She was the best. Made us feel like vip. U could ask her anything and she could provide the info u need. The hotel was awesome. Pool, restaurant, gym and spa everything is on the 5th floor. The amenities we had in our room was amazing, we had our own tea sets, coffee pods machine, bath robes... bathroom essentials.. etc. Thought the lobby was a bit warm. But not too overpowering. Maybe thats the style here in Siem Reap. We had our experience ar other hotel in siem reap with similar style. Location is not far from pub street and night market. U could walk (7-8mins) or grab a tuk tuk. Use e-hailing Theres a small french cafe just in front of the hotel, they had this delicious curry chicken sandwich."

Apsara Residence Hotel

"I went with my family including my parents, and booked 3 double rooms. The staff at the hotel were kind enough to upgrade one of the rooms to villa for my parents. The service was excellent, staff were very very friendly and accommodating. Rooms were spacious and clean. The location was great as well, just 5 mins walk to pub street/old market. Just 1 minor thing to point out - the sockets in the rooms cannot cater for 3-pin plugs, which is quite unusual. I have stayed in a couple other hotels in Siem Reap and am currently working in Phnom Penh. All such places have 3-pin sockets, and due to such reason, we did not bring any international adapter, thinking that the sockets in this hotel would cater for 3-pin plugs as well. That said, the hotel staff were nice enough to allow us to charge our power banks overnight at the reception desk area, which we greatly appreciate. Thanks again! Overall a great stay and it is definitely value for money."

Tara Angkor Hotel
Siem Reap Central Area,Siem Reap Central Area - View on map
"Great room, huge bath tub although the balcony was tiny. Excellent breakfast and some of the best service I have experienced anywhere in the world. No hesitation recommending this hotel to anyone although aside from the included breakfast, I wouldnt bother with the restaurant. There are many more interesting and far cheaper options in the Siem Reap central area. On the other hand, any extra services you may require are expensive. The laundry service is ridiculously priced. I am not sure what experiences they have with befouled underwear but charging $1.50 to clean ne pair of my pristeen Calvins seemed way over the top. I do not even want to think how much they would want to take care of my jockstrap after a gruelling game of rugby. On the whole though, one of the most pleasing hotel stays I have enjoyed anywhere in the world. Bravo Tara staff, sorry the tip was small but I spent all my money on Absynthe and strangely named cocktails."

Royal Crown Hotel & Spa

"Okay, so it's not the best hotel in Siem Reap, but it is fantastic value for money, especially for short stays. There is so much to see in Siem Reap, you don't need all the facilities that the big hotels / resorts provide. It is close to the markets and Pub Street. It does have a pool, free wi-fi in all areas, a room safe, and all the facilities necessary. It doesn't have car parking, child minding and all those extra trimmings. The staff were fantastic and helpful. I wish that we had stayed our full 4 nights here rather than moving to a resort after 1 night and saved heaps to be able to spend more on the fantastic food around the city. The beds are very firm / hard, but this seems to be normal in SE Asia. Our room had a balcony and we were entertained watching the streetscape below and trying to figure out the local road rules. Would definitely stay here again as the value for money is fantastic."

"Beautiful hotel, comfortable beds, great amenities, spacious rooms, lovely pool, perfect location, amazing staff and service. Don’t stay anywhere else in Siem Reap. Trust me! I emailed them prior to arrival to ask for a small acknowledgment of my partner’s birthday. They went above and beyond all expectations with a personalised “happy birthday” message on the bed, cut out of Banana leaves. Then 10 staff showed up at the door singing happy birthday with an entire personalised birthday cake and candles! Had an amazing stay. Wish we could have stayed longer! "

Angkor Pearl Hotel
Siem Reap Central Area,Siem Reap Central Area - View on map
"Angkor Pearl A Pearl at Siem Reap Angkor pearl hotel surpassed our expectations. It was located in a quiet street but very near the main road and 7-10 mins walk to pub street and night market. Everything is within 5mins walking distance (bank, Lucky mall, KFC, spas), but the street is not too busy and noisy. They dont have a lift so those with problems going up stairs should stay on the ground floor but the staff are there to help you with your bags. The rooms were spacious, beds comfortable and furnishings consistent with its old khmer motif. You get a welcome drink, a fruit plate in the room, complete toiletries, fresh smelling towels, compli bottled water, coffee and tea and a pair of rubber slippers. There was a ref, TV with cable and the AC worked fine. There's wifi and 3 computers at the lobby. The bathroom was clean although a little old. the bath tub had scratch marks and the shower curtain should be changed. Unfortunately there was a construction ongoing at the building beside the hotel that you could hear the metal works during the day. The staffs were very courteous and friendly. The breakfast was impressive for the price we paid with soup, bread, butter, jams, eggs, rice, pancakes, several main courses, fruits and flowing juice, tea and coffee. they changed the main course every day. They have their own tuktuk and a car with driver that you can hire. I think the best asset of this hotel is their resident driver Sam. He was very nice and very fluent in English. He picked us up from the airport with his camry, brought us to the hotel and took us to pub street. The next day, he took us on a tour to all the temples with free ice cold water and towels in his car, then he took us to a restaurant for lunch, brought us to a dinner place and back to the hotel after dinner all for $25 for 5 persons! He even arranged for our taxi to Phnom penh and reserved our bus ticket from PP to Ho chi minh. The best cambodian i ever met at a great hotel in siem reap."

"We had spent 6 days in Siem Reap exploring Angkor Wat and surrounding area with 3 older kids age 11-12. We stayed in 2 bedrooms unit which was very spacious and clean. We were welcome since arriving till leaving. Ellie (guest relation manager) and all the staffs are very friendly and helpful. We arranged all our tour thru the hotel. Their drivers and tuk tuk drivers are very good and friendly. Ellie's recommendations for the tour, bike tour, and activities were excellent. The breakfast spread were plenty and well spread. We would highly recommend anyone to stay at this hotel and if we are going back, we will surely revisit the hotel again. Thank you for making our holiday in Siem Reap a wonderful experience."

"Khmer Mansion Residence exceeded our expectations! My friend celebrated her birthday in Siem Reap and we decided to book 5star hotel. The value of money is really great. They offered good deal and their service is way above that. We were welcomed during check in and provided welcome drinks (that’s one of the best welcome drink I’ve tasted). Their staff also helped us a lot with everything. I like the room and everything this hotel has to offer. I will definitely recommend this to all my friends visiting Siem Reap. They also provided us cake for my friends birthday and a little souvenir when we check out. Definitely one of the best experience!"

La Riviere d' Angkor Resort
Siem Reap Central Area,Siem Reap Central Area - View on map
"This is a superb hotel. Small and Friendly with great staff. Our room was lovely and everything worked fine and the place was spotless. The hotel is near a road which although not a main road runs along the river. There is some road noise but this is inevitable giving it's location and no different from anywhere else in Siem Reap. It did not distract from our stay at all. We booked a car and driver and a guide for two consecutive days and it was the best money we ever spent. Not only was the guide knowledgeable but we got to see the temples when most people weren't there! At some temples it felt like we where the only ones there! This allowed us to get some great photos although we didn't bother to get up for sunrise (which can be hit and miss). TIP: When you go to lunch, take the driver and guide with you. Although you'll have to pay for their meal the advice and interesting stories are well worth it! The guide was suprised when we offered for them to eat with us which I thought strange (only 1 in 20 people do apparently) and they miss out on a great deal of extra information. Cold bottled water was plentiful in the car and the air conditioning much appreciated although only 32 degrees. The food in the Hotel was superb and my only regret was not eating there more often but I always for some reason tend to head out into town which is a 5-10 min walk or a $1 tuk tuk ride. In all a great four days and I would return in a flash. Remember however to tip locals as there basic wages are very low. A dollar here or there is well received. Take US dollars in smallish bills $20 or less. There is a supermarket just around the corner if you need anything. WiFi works but don't expect to download a movie in HD. Buying a Smart Sim for $10 at the airport gives you 4G in nearly all places and 3G elsewhere. We also had a complimentary meal which I though would be a bit lack lustre but turned out to be one the best we had whilst we where there."

Hotel Somadevi Angkor Resort & Spa
Siem Reap Central Area,Siem Reap Central Area - View on map
"Very good hotel in an ideal location. Located in Siem Reap's central area, Somadevi is a kilometer or two away from Pub Street and around 7-8km away from Angkor Wat. Finding public transportation wouldn't be difficult since a lot of tuktuks are stationed in the hotel parking and outside the hotel premises. They'll usually charge you $1-2 for a short distance ride. If you want to rent a tuktuk for a whole day or for a tour, just ask the front desk and they'll happily arrange it for you. This usually costs $15-20 for a whole day (sunrise-sunset). They have good rooms with fast internet access, a huge bathroom, comfortable beds and cable TV. The hotel also offers free buffet breakfast which gives you a chance to devour an international array of dishes - from different pastries, an omelette and a noodle station and other famous breakfast food. Somadevi also has a big pool located at the center of the establishment. This is a must in hotels in Siem Reap for me since you'll be battling with the heat as you visit temples all-day long. It has a mini-bar where you can order sandwiches or cocktails while you cool-off. Had a bad experience though with one of their staff who was getting arrogant and frustrated with the language barrier while we booked a tuktuk but aside from that, the staff was more than friendly and accommodating. Definitely coming back here!"

More about Siem Reap Central Area

Central Siem Reap is livelier than it has been in centuries thanks to the number of tourists who base themselves here while touring Angkor Wat. Practically every visitor here has come explicitly to see the temple complex, and hotels in Siem Reap respond by providing tours and knowledgeable guides for hire.

Central Siem Reap is organized around the Old Market, where a collection of French colonial buildings, shops and guesthouses are located. Wat Bo, one of the oldest temples in the city center, is also here. Siem Reap is quickly becoming a flourishing market town, and tourists can shop for gifts and souvenirs at Phsar Kandal, Phsar Leu and at the night market. More modern shopping venues are at the Museum Mall.

Some of the hotels in central Siem Reap specialize in helping concerned tourists connect with the local community. One of the most enjoyable ways to get involved is to eat lunch at Sala Bai Hotel School, an institute that trains young and at-risk Cambodians in culinary arts. It’s also possible to volunteer at Angkor Hospital for Children.

Attractions in central Siem Reap would get more attention if not for Angkor Wat. Local sites include Wat Damnak, a more modern temple complex that plays an active role in the community. The Royal Residence (near the post office) and adjoining Royal Independence Garden are a nice diversion on a day away from the temple complex.

The dense selection of accommodation in central Siem Reap allows for competitive pricing, and even up-market hotels offer excellent value for money. Most of the luxury accommodation is north of the city center, close to Phokeethra Country Club.
