Walking distance to Lion Rock”
What would say is the room is value for money. However the location is far from the restaurant and convenient shop. The lodge is family business and the staff is the father and son, they are not all the time at the reception area so it would not easy to communicate during our stay if we want to request anything. No mineral water provided in the room which we should request from them and it is not a complimentary, they will charge it the bill. Overall stay, I'm just okay.

Nice family. Overrated.”
Very nice family. Quiet
Over priced but that is perhaps my conclusion about Sri Lanka. The purpkepain on thebedroom walls was nightmarish with the usual extremely poor lighting. Breakfast was sub standard. But the family is very nice.

Friendly family, great food and location”
The food was great. We played cricket with the family and they lent us bikes.
Had a fun time. Room was in a building site during our stay which made it impossible for relaxing. Bed and pillows slighly uncomfortable and overall room was damp but that's the climate. We had a great experience as the interaction with the family, locals and rock made out stay. Hopefully they finish building soon.

Nice home stay”
Stuff friendliness; homy atmosphere; quiet place
A nice friendly home stay close to Lion Rock (about 800m by the main road and about 1km by the forest road). The roomhad no windows do no fresh air. The food is not great so better to go to the restaurants nearby for the dinner or breakfast

Cozy family-runned lodge ”
Home made rice/noodle and curry, clean rooms and hot shower, lovely family
The stay was comfy. We were a group of two female friends who were somewhat used to traveling low budget. I work in Sri Lanka and had stayed at a couple of low budget guest houses. So my expectation was not high, just needed a place to stay for the night and nothing more. But the family room was a lot bigger and cleaner, the shower was hot (didn't mind about the low water pressure), and what made me love this stay was the home-made non spicy rice/noodle and curry. Until then, I never came across a curry sauce that I would go for a third round. Oh boy what a life saver it was. Dinner included white rice, rice noodle, dahl curry, pumpkin curry, egg plant curry, stir-fried chicken breast, tomato/onion salad, and watermelon. Yum. Was the best rice and curry I had in Sri Lanka, worth paying the extra Rs700. Last but not least, I appreciated the hospitality of the family. The brother and sister helped out their parents taking away dishes and talking to us. If I come back again to Sigiriya, I probably would try out other accommodations just to get some comparisons but I'm pretty sure I would come back to this house even after comparing to those luxury hotels in the area. If you're ok with killing tons of mosquitoes in the bathroom, then this lodge is pretty good considering the money you pay for.

Good Food Good People, Damp Room”
Location, Food and Friendliness
We had a good stay. It was perfect for seeing Sigirya. Only downside was the rooms being very damp; the walls were dripping. This is perhaps unsurprising considering the torrential rain. We were able to dry it out a bit with the AC. The helpful staff and delicious cooking made up for the moisture!

Best value for money”
Staff, location, food
The lodge is about 40mins away from Dambulla and accessible by a tuk tuk (we paid 800 rupees for 3 persons). It's walking distance (7mins) from Sigiriya so great if you intent to depart Sigiriya in the evening. There are no restaurants in the vicinity but the owner makes it up for an awesome home cooked meal- best dhal we've eaten, good servings of salad, chicken, cooked vegetables, crackers and rice. The dinner we had cost 1800, slightly expensive but it beats having rotti or fried rice at every meal. The owner has contacts to arrange for tours or a taxi if you need, but don't bet on them for a good price. Room had a couple of mosquitoes but nonetheless very clean.
