Centrally located, friendly staff, easy to find”
My family and I had a very nice experience in this hotel. We stayed at Silka Seaview for 5 days and 4 nights. Upon check-in, we were informed that we can be upgraded to a suite room that can cater to 4 people instead of the two rooms that we initially booked without extra charge. Since we are a family of 5, they also let us have an extra bed with no extra charge as well. Besides the fact that it is very accessible using taxis, buses and the MTR, it is very close to the Temple Street Market wherein you can experience comfortable night shopping. It is also very close to convenience stores like 7-eleven, and to fast food chains like McDonald's and Sushi Take-Out. There are also local Cantonese eateries around. Yau Ma Tei MTR station is just a 2-minute walk from the hotel wherein you can have direct access to other nice places in Hong Kong. Regarding the staff, they are very prompt in rendering service for us, like cleaning our room. Even though we do not ask for them to, they would fix our rooms for us. During our second morning, we had a slight mishap since the ceiling was dripping of water. We initially thought that it came from a leaking bathroom but the housekeeping staff who checked it told us it was just from the air-conditioning unit. After about an hour of fixing it, we never had problems again. We would definitely stay at this hotel again. If you want a cheap hotel that does not sacrifice quality of service, Silka Seaview is the hotel for you
1. 300 meter dari yau ma tei mtr exit C . Keluar mtr kanan terus jumpa temple dan kanan lagi dan akan jmpa hotel. 2. Staff is polite and profesional. 3. Got shuttle transfer to airport 1++ HK dollar 4. Kemas dan bersih. Everyday staff will tidy our room 5. And the best things is this hotel will provide u hp for use for free!!! .. boleh buat hotspot unlimited data very superb .. u know need to rent the router 6. Those yang booked this hotel by agoda must pay depo 300hk to hotel 7. Room is ok for me its nice for 2 people not too small and not too big.. 8. Will come again to this hotel again! 9. Perfect! 10. Everyday hotel will sent newspaper to ur room. Thank you silka seaview hotel
Thank you for your comments. We are happy to know you enjoyed our location. Hope to be of service to you soon again.
Comfortable stay near Yau Ma Tei MTR”
I had a very enjoyable stay at the Silka Seaview Hotel during my 3 day visit to Hong Kong. There are many positive things that I can say about this hotel: (1) Close to Yau Ma Tei MTR. (2) Not far from the main shopping areas of Mongkok. (3) Clean. (4) Safe. (5) Fast check-in / check-out. (6) Many local restaurants and McDonalds near the hotel. (7) Good location. (8) Fast and free WiFi. (9) The room was cleaned on daily basis during my 3 day stay. (10) There's free luggage storage available for early check-in guests and after check-out. However, there were a few things that I didn't enjoy as much: (1) Very small room. (2) The bathroom wasn't cleaned properly when I arrived. (3) The air-con made quite a lot of noise which took a little time to get used to, as I am very light sleeper. (4) The room and the bathroom are not designed for the tall & mighty. Overall, I am satisfied with my stay and will consider staying at this hotel again on my next visit to Hong Kong.
a good location for solo travelers”
enjoyed my stay overall at silka seaview. the airport bus a21 brought me within walking distance of silka seaview around the yau ma tei area. the Tsushima wan line mtr is within walking distance, and it's a short walk away from Nathan Road, the main shopping street in Kowloon. staff were friendly and helpful at all points of contact: check-in/out, baggage deposit, items left behind in the room during checkout. room was small but in a prime area of HK, that would be kind of expected, the beds and pillows were comfortable. hot water in the shower works. overall a very pleasant stay.
The place is conveniently located in malls and other shopping areas. MTR (Yau Ma Tei) Station is few meters away the hotel. There's a Temple and park infront of the hotel and the famous Yau Ma Tei Police Station is nearby. That's where most of Jackie Chan movies (with police scenes) were filmed (according to a relative). If you love to walk, you can reach TST in few minutes without being tired. You will be entertained by shops along Nathan Road! Regarding the hotel, the room is quite small and old. I am a bit frustrated because I was expecting of a good buffet breakfast similar to their Silka Fareast hotel! The buffet menu was the same from our 1st morning to our last day! The Jade Caffee is a just a small area for dining but during our stay it was not crowded. I requested the hotel manager to transfer us to a single queen-sized bed since we're a couple, we were assigned in a two - single bed on our first night. Anyway Silka Seaview is a convenient hotel.
I will defintely come back again!”
This is my 3rd time visiting Hong Kong, and i have stayed at Silka Seaview Hotel for the 2nd time. I have saw some feedbacks that this hotel's service staff are bad, and that the room are small blah blah, in my view, with such economy price staying at such convenience location's hotel,(few mins walk to MTR Station, few mins walk to famous Ladies street,Temple Street market, many choices of food and many things to buy) COmpared to to other hotels that ive stayed before, this is the best hotel with clean room, i dont think there are anything we should further complaint about. I always have difficulty sleeping in other countries cox im so afraid of haunted hotels, on top of that, i must have many pillows so i can feel secure but cheap hotels always provide only 2 pillows, to my surprise, Silka did not charged me extra for the 3 additional pillows i requested. Hong Kong is my favourite country and i will always return back, same as Silklka Seaview Hotel, i will defintely stay at this hotel again!
Good location, clean and comfortable room.”
This is my second stay at Silks Seaview. Certainly, it's one of the better 3* hotel at yau ma tei. The staff are responsive and customer oriented, and the rooms are clean and cozy, and reasonably spacious. Even thought it's renovated a couple of years ago, the rooms are relatively new. Location wise, it's easily accessible including express bus service to airport, A21 I will certainly continue to stay at Silka Seaview.
Silka Seaview Hotel is a very good location which near yau ma tei mtr station which took you less then 5min walk to the hotel and to temple street from the hotel. Although the room is small but i am very satisfy with the service provided by the hotel and the staffs is very friendly to assist me although i am a chinese which does not speak cantonese. Overall i will give them 8/10.
The best in Hong Kong”
Silka Seaview Hotel I can say is the most cost efficient hotel in Hong Kong for the reason that first, the rates are very affordable, second, its very near to the MTR with 2 - 3 minutes walk, third, its in the heart of the city, with just 5 minute stroll to Mongkok and a train away to Tsim Sha Tsui, fourth, there are an ample amount of dining choices around the area from the local restaurants all the way to McDonald's and KFC so you'll never get hungry, fifth, their is free WiFi connectivity throughout the hotel and not to mention their free usage of the Handy phone, an Alcatel smartphone which is very useful to every tourist becuause it provides navigation and connectivity. Another thing that I loved is their baggage counter. Unlike other hotels Silka offers baggage counter for their guests to leave their bagages even after check-out time which is awesome. The only downside is that - NONE. I would definitely stay again in this hotel on my next HK trip on December.
enjoyable stay in Dorsett Seaview”
Overall we satisfied with our 4 nights stay in Dorsett Seaview. Room condition is new and bathroom is clean with good shower system. The hotel located near to Yau Ma Tei MTR station (only 5mins walks) so we can travel anywhere easily. Night market behind the hotel and we can find a lot of Hong Kong Cafe/Restaurant nearby. Can find Rest. serve Dim Sum along Nathan Rd. Staff are friendly and housekeeping will make up the room daily. We will come back to stay here for future our trip.
Wonderful and comfortable stay ”
It was wonderful - not big but very comfortable with a good location - temple street market was just downstairs, best for souvenir shopping Nice interior decor and the lobby is warm and cosy. Fast free wifi available! Has good food just outside- Dim Sum at Fu Kee Delicious Food and Mido Cafe Very near the Yau Ma Tei MTR - about 5 mins walk The airport shuttle bus is also nearby Silka also offers affordable baggage check -in! You can leave your luggage at the hotel and go for a short trip to macau before returning to the hotel to pick up the luggage then take the airport shuttle to the Hong Kong Airport Very good hotel, will come back!
Stayed in HK for 3 nights with my sister. Our main reason for visiting HK was to shop and to see the sights. We picked the Dorsett Seaview Hotel mainly because it was very near the night market (Temple St.) and near the Yau Ma Tei MTR station. Room size is adequate in size for my sister and I, but may be too cramped for other people. Bathroom was clean but really limited in space (bigger people might have hated the shower size). We especially liked the shower head because it was the big, overhead type. The water pressure was good too, but the shower drain wasn't too efficient in draining water during the last day of our stay. We didn't try their food so I can't really comment on the hotel food. Hotel staff are accommodating but not really that approachable/friendly-looking. Service is good, though, but would be even better if matched with friendlier staff.
Great Location, Clean Room with modern design”
We stayed here for 3 nights from 1 june to 4 june 2011. nice location, near to yau ma tei mrt, restaurants are all nearby, night market next to the hotel, just that now part of the building is under renovation, so only 2 lifts are functioning, need to wait for a while for the lift especially early morning 7-8 and night time 9-10pm when group tourist in and out of the hotel. overall, we are quite satisfied with this hotel, and also if the staff at the counter can be a bit more friendly and also have some knowledge in assisting us on public tranport in hong kong, that would be better, as there is a bus stop right in front of the hotel, when we asked them, they told us, take a cab. not sure is it because there is a travel agent counter in the hotel, so not much info they would give, and also not many tourism brochures that we can get.
Silka Seaview hotel is in a great location..close to the MTR (Yau Ma Tei) station, a few steps away from Temple Street where there are many restaurants to eat in. The staff is very helpful - they helped to print my Ocean Park voucher for free and they gladly answered our questions..They also cleaned our rooms everyday and gave us fresh towels. The handyphone was a plus. It helped us a lot....Just a bit of walking from the A21 Bus Stop but still okay as long as you dont have any big heavy bags with you. The rooms were small but comfortable...the wallpaper and carpet is just a bit old and some areas of the bathroom walls and ceiling needs a bit of repainting...but overall it was great!
Will recommend to my friends”
It's at a perfect location! few minutes walk to Yau Ma Tei MTR station, the famous Mido Cafe, and temple street. It's walkable to Mong Kok too (less than 20 minutes), by just following the main street, Nathan Road, at the same time, you can window shop the shops and restaurants along the road. Even if you are extremely tired after a whole day city walk outside, getting back to the hotel from MTR (C Exit) wouldn't get you frustrated, because it's really near. Though its located at the center of Yau Ma Tei, we can still enjoy a nice sleep at night. Little or no noise inside the room (we requested a non smoking & quiet room). For those who want to go Macau (HK China City Port at Tsim Sha Tsui) and back to Hong Kong Airport (Airport Express MTR at Kowloon), there are free shuttle buses provided every hour, and they are very on time. The staff are responsive and polite, including the cleaner too. The only drawback is the small size of room and bathroom. Do not expect to sit down comfortably for coffee break while enjoy nice window view inside the room. This hotel is for those who go out early and come back at night for sleep only. However, for the money paid, it's acceptable, and nothing to complain about.
Value for money.”
The hotel has several selling points. First is its great location. From the airport, take the A21 bus, get off 9 stops later (Man Ming Lane), cross the street and walk towards the hotel (around 5 minutes). The Yau Ma Tei MTR Station is only 5 minutes away. If you are fond of shopping - the night market, ladies' market and jade markets are within walking distance. Second, you will feel very secure in the hotel. The elevator will not work unless you scan your keycard prior to pressing your floor thus non-residents can't just go up. Lastly, each room is equipped with a smartphone with unlimited data which you can take out of the hotel and use as a hotspot for your own phone. There is no need to buy HK data sim card. Over all, I am quite satisfied with my stay and would book this hotel the next time I visit Hong Kong.
Clean and convenient hotel located near MTR, nothing fancy but good value for money”
Located in Yau Ma Tei in Kowloon, in lively local neighbourhood. There is 7-eleven, street markets and plenty of restaurants nearby. Short walk from MTR so easy to move from this location to other parts of city, also easy to get taxi but I recommend getting "octopus card" from MTR station customer service desk for moving around HK most easily, and when leaving HK get refund for octopus card in airport. Taxi to hotel from airport was maybe 260 hkd, I think this was most convenient transportation for about same price like airport express or bus tickets for two people. We stayed one week in deluxe room in floor 18 with nice view. There was not much noise from outside. Room was clean though quite small but in HK this is normal. Staff was friendly and room service was good, they did also deliver free newspapers to room. Breakfast was included in our room price, it was quite basic but OK and was served until 11 am in 19th floor restaurant with panoramic view to city. Hotel wifi worked good and also room includes free of charge smartphone for local calls and mobile wifi hotspot that you can carry around city with you, this was very convenient because no need to buy local SIM card. I will most likely stay here again when next time in HK and recommend this hotel for any HK visitor who wants good value hotel near MTR.
the room design very nice”
silka seaview hotel the room design very nice, when i go to the room, my first reaction is wahhhh. the room design very beautiful, the toilet also very nice and beautiful. silk sea view hotel's staff very helpful and friendly. in silka sea view hotel you caA direct with them to buy the attractions ticket and also cheaper. when any people want go to yau ma tai rent hotel you can go to silka sea view hotel.
Comfortable, affordable and convenient”
Our stay at Silka Seaview Hotel was great. It was a comfortable stay, the room was clean, required facilities were there, definitely value for money. Room can be quite small, but hotel rooms in Hong Kong were all generally small, but it didn't affect us much. There's a kettle for us to boil our own water as well. The hotel is situated near the MTR, and we managed to walk our way to Tsim Sha Tsui and Mongkok, so you can actually walk to the major shopping areas without taking the MTR (a pretty long walk though). And dessert place (Xu Liu Shan) across the hotel is a must-try!!
Good location, good facilities ”
Its located at Yau Ma Tei, the room is clean and tidy, not too small and the useful facilities is they provide Handy Smartphone where you can bring out for free call and free internet so you can update your social media anytime anywhere. Price is reasonable and even is cheap compare to others, is way cheaper then some small and dirty hostel. I would recommend this hotel to those who dont have high budget to stay in Hong Kong but thinking of rent near the town.
