Located in the Kandal Market area, Silver River Hotel is just a three-minute walk to tourist attractions such as Royal Palace, National Museum, Silver Pagoda, Riverfront, and the beautiful views of Tonle Sap and the Mekong River. All the spacious rooms with a separate shower cubicle include amenities such as a well-stocked mini bar, attached bathroom with full amenities, coffee/tea making facilities, and cable TV. For dining, visit the on-site Silver Restaurant and Bar offering a variety of international cuisine, or stroll down the road for other dining options, after which guests can unwind at the on-site Massage Spa. If price is a primary concern, it is hard to do much better than the comfortably basic Silver River Hotel.

Located on a street with many good and affordable restaurants. The staff are very professional, friendly, and helpful. I just wish their breakfast buffet was a bit better. I would still stay here again.
A very comfortable hotel with strong air-conditioning located in walking distance of prime tourist sights and restaurants. The hotel desk efficiently booked excellent Giant Ibis bus to Siem Reap and shepherded us onto shuttle, calling to check when van running late. Breakfast had nice variety of food.
Best hotel in this area”
Some ants in the bathroom, the aircon is so weak that you can not cool down in the room. The staff is very kind and helpful. I always stay there and it is perfect. If you want to change bedlinen you have to ask at the reception. But this is no problem!
Very friendly and helpful reception staff. Fabulous location within a few minutes walk to most of the important attractions. Will definitely be staying at this hotel again on my next visit to Phnom Penh.
A cozy mountain view ”
It had some really great comin areas upstairs had a TV cold and hot water couches dishes cups utensils, downstairs also hot and cold water ironing board self service laundry ckeep some books , a lot of special touches
Good location at old Phnom Penh close to river side , attraction and market”
Walkable to museum, Royal Palace, riverside, bar street with many restaurants around the corner. Good clean hotel but rooms with balcony is abit noisy from the street so book standard room is quieter n better option. Good breakfast with the price I paid. Returning guest stayed 8days. Room 302 with balcony is small 301 is bigger later moved to room 307 standard room is good n quiet. Would like to come back to this hotel with helpful friendly staff n manager Mr Tim
Stayed many times. Silver river is very well run budget hotel. It has a lift too. Stayed in a room 203 this time, window no view, face a wall, but at least you get natural light during daytime. Did not book bf since I travel single and wake up late. Based on previous experience, it is ok to book bf if you travel as a couple, but bit expensive if solo, the spread is small but food taste good. Strong wifi, cable tv, safe box, good ac, clean and spacious room and toilet, 3 pillows. Overall a very good value on st 172. 5 mins stroll to the river, and affordable restaurants everywhere. I would stay here again'
Hotel is old but their services are good !”
This hotel locates at near riverside and it is very convenient to go to restaurants, bars and some play spots. Complementary is enough. Those were coffee, tee and the bottles of water. Accommodation was old but it was clean enough. Staffs are kind and friendly. Breakfast are not so gorgeous but it's enough. In conclusion, as far as the fee is less than 1,000THB per person per night, I think this hotel is reasonable and worth staying again.
Just as Friendly as Ever”
I've stayed at the Silver River Hotel on a number of occasions. This time was no different. Very friendly, efficient staff who go out of their way to please. The hotel is clean and in a great location. What's not to like?
May have to find another hotel ”
The hotel is getting dated and this last time the breakfast was very poor. However, with that said the rooms are spacious, quite (5th floor to the rear) and clean. There are a lot of fine restaurants and bars on St. 172. Also, a great little coffee stand right across the street and the owner speaks fair English, He will help you out with where to go issues.
The hotel is okay its just that we encountered problems specific to us. - Our laundry was given few minutes before we checked out and the clothes are stained. They mixed up the white clothes and the colored clothes. They ruined almost all my white shirts and my underpants still have detergents on it. - There is no elevator and our room is on fourth floor. We have to carry all our heavy luggages going from and to. - The breakfast isn't delicious at all. They just put breads, spreads, rice and hotdogs. And poof, it became breakfast. - The door locks and the refrigerator are broken. - They have 1 staff to do everything.
Great stay in a good location. All the staff are very helpful and polite, bigger chains could learn a lot from them. The buffet breakfast was a bit basic, but no shortage of nearby options. All in all it was a most enjoyable stay and I would not hesitate to recommend them.
Great time to spent at there”
Feedback for the hotel - the room is too dark - and the extra beds is too soft for sleep. - best service that have provide by the hotel - the breakfast meal for chose is less for pick
Good value hotel in the heart of Phnom Penh.”
Pros.location,staff,facilities & lprice Cons. None
Home away from home”
I've been staying here for years on trips to Phnom Penh. The rooms are perfectly fine and great value considering the location, facilities and most of all the staff are fantastic. Highly recommend staying here and will be back!
Good location + friendly staff”
This hotel is located near the market and in a street where you can find good restaurants and convenient stores. Also in walking distance to the market and river side. For this price I expected more but after comparing with other hotels it seemed to be quite normal for PP. In fact the more expensive ones aren't necessary better except that they are closer to the river side. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The WiFi was not working well. Dear Manager, please change the water kettle in room 412. The lid is broken and it just gives your hotel an older look by seeing it. All in all, I would consider this hotel again.
I've traveled to Phnom Penh a number of times and always stay in the same hotel, but it was booked this time. I choose Silver River, mostly for the price and reviews. It's a decent hotel. It's clean and the staff are nice and helpful. I didn't try the breakfast buffet but I did eat in the restaurant. The food was fine. If you're looking for a hotel provides good value for the price, stay here.
Clean hotel at old town close to waterfront”
My stay of 14 days at this hotel with clean spacious room is excellent value for money included breakfast, elevator, fridge, safe with friendly staff and nice lobby. Many restuarent, bar, travel agents, mini markets, bicycle n motorbike rental are available just from any agents along the same street. Walkable to museum, royal palace, waterfront. Street food stalls are every corners. This location is excellent. I will come back to this hotel in the near future.
Good sized room ”
quiet and clean room main enterance right onto the main street with bars right there i was only here for the night and didnt explore much but lovely my only issue is they provided a bus to siam reap and a "free" transfer from bus station to my hotel in siam reap , When i arrived the driver was there and he started asking me about tours and hopeing to bring me here and there but i already booked a tour and he seamed to get angry , this was before we moved from the bus terminal he called over a friend who spoke more english and told me i "had" to pay him 3 dollors for the lift to the hotel im sorry but that was included in the ticket price . they stood there not doing anything not moving i felt intimidated and im surprised this beautiful hotel had anything to do with these sort of bullies , it was a long day so i said i would pay it by the way i was going to tip the driver in anyway so im not being stingy , i was actually going to tip 5 dollors
Cheap and comfortable stay”
I booked the Family Room with Balcony. It is basically a maisonette with two levels and there is only 1 entrance on the lower level. There is a flight of steep (VERY steep) stairs in the room leading to the second level. Each level came with its own queen bed and an en-suite bathroom. *Do note that the room on the lower level is much less spacious than that on the upper level. The air-conditioning units are quite dated but they still function well. WIFI is free and strong. My booking came with breakfast and it was a simple buffet with toast, fruits, fried rice, eggs (the eggs are not displayed, you will have to order directly from the waiters and state your preference: scrambled. fried or omelette), cereals etc... The hotel staff were friendly and assisted us with our requests. That included getting reliable tuk-tuk service to visit the S21 museum and Killing Fields ($18) and taxi to the airport on our last day ($12). From the hotel, you could walk to the river side, Central Market, Sorya Mall, Kandal Market and the Phnom Penh Night Market (the furthest will take you about 20 mins by walking) The only thing that made me uncomfortable was the neighbourhood (Doun Penh) that the hotel is situated in. It is just slight messy and not as clean as the Chamkar Morn area. It is fine, but I would prefer a more comfortable/quieter stay in Chamkar Morn, which is nearer to the Independence Monument.
