Average
The place is ok. It's grubby and the dorm smells a bit because people are living there full time. It's fine for a night and I don't know why you would stay in Auckland any longer anyways because it's boring.

Way overcrowded
Staying at this Hostel makes you feel like cattle in a barn. They try to cram way too many people into too small of a space. I'm not just talking about the rooms. The facilities were always crowded with too many people. And they charge you for every little extra thing possible.

Value for money hostel
Location, Value for money and cleanliness
It was a short stay but definitely will come back. Value for money and it's near supermarket for muslim to get their groceries. Ample parking space if you're driving.

Wouldn't stay again
Location
We arrived at 3.30 when reception opened and didn't get into our room until an hour later, waiting for very slow staff to check in people and organise rooms. We booked online and prepaid but this got confused during check in and they asked us to pay another (larger) room rate. Once we sorted out the problems and got into our room we found the pillows were totally flat and empty, the bed was very uncomfortable and our room was right next to the street which meant we listened to noise all night. The hostel itself had some noisy party goers inside so we struggled to sleep. The wifi wasn't working and when it was fixed it was very slow. The staff were friendly but very slow and seemed confused the whole time. The whole hostel is old, worn out, cramped and narrow. Wouldn't stay again or recommend.

worst staff
the shower
When you have to start off your trip with a 4-and-a-half-hour wait and a 15-minute argument with the manager about what you thought you paid for and what your actually getting and he basically tells you it's none of his problem, you know it's gonna ruin your trip. don't do it. not worth it. unless you are travelling by yourself, i suggest you go to an actual hotel instead.

Unpleasant experience
Very cheap, central location, tidy washroom
Receptionist was away on my arrival and I had to wait for a long time to get the keys. Kitchen and even the dormitory was very untidy becase the rubbish was not removed regularly.
