Sinchon hotels & places to stay

My stay at CT was really awesome and I must say that this is a fantastic choice of stay if you visit Seoul. Firstly, the location of the hostel is a short walking distance away from Sinchon Station so it's really convenient to travel anywhere. There are also 2 convenience stores along the way in case you need to buy anything on the way back, as well as a 24 hr Lotteria if you fancy some fast food. In addition, there are several push cart Ahjummas too for that traditional road side snack/meal. Secondly, the best part about CT is that the staff and boss are all really friendly and helpful! Best of all, they can speak English or Chinese quite fluently so communication is no issue. Heejo greeted me when I arrived on the first day and even gave me a short tour of the place. The rest of the days, I was assisted by Eric and Rena. Always a warm welcome with a big smile when I get back everyday! They have a common kitchen you can use, free breakfast (bread and spreads), drinking water and even washing machine available for your usage. Also, they provide free travel adaptors that you can borrow from the counter which is really convenient. I stayed in one of the double rooms (as single rooms were fully booked), and the bed was really comfy. Space of the room was just right for a solo traveller and I felt the price was really affordable as compared to other options. Hairdryer, computer, wifi and TV was provided in the room too. There is also shampoo, body wash and toothpaste provided, but girls may need to get your own conditioner as I did. They do have towels too, but it's not the big type. Just the size of a hand towel but it was sufficient for me. No problem for a hostel stay I would say. I felt really warm support from the staff as they are always ready to help, for example when I had problem with the TV and PC. Problems were solved right away! Really thankful to Eric and CT for the nice stay I had, and I'll definitely be coming back next time I visit Seoul.

Pros: 1) 5mins walking distance to Sinchon subway station- Exit 6 or 7 With heavy luggage: At exit 7, go straight & cross the main road ,then turn left. Turn right at the junction beside GS25. At the 4 way junction, go straight and Sinchon Sisters is in the middle of the junction. Without heavy luggage: At exit 7, go straight & cross the main road, then turn right. Turn left into the first junction (steep road and then turn right to the junction where Sinchon Sisiters is. 2) Fried chicken shop just 2-3 doors away. 3) GS25 just down the street. 4) Friendly staff. Cons: 1) No common area for dish washing & having food

I visited the alpha guesthouse 3 and 2 years ago and I was happy with everything. That was the reason for me to decide to visit it again. But I think the owner has changed. I arrived and they dont even tried to talk with me . Just starring at his computer and play games.. Okay I'm fine with that but our problem was (we were 4 people) we cant breath in the bathroom. everywhere mold, dirt, feces, cockroaches. I am a low budget traveler but no hostel ever smells as bad as the alpha guesthouse. We had a lot of hair in our beds and blood at the wall (mosquitoes). We stayed there for 9 days and they never cleaned up our rooms or the livingroom or the kitchen. The climax was that there was a children(son of the owner) and he just stand in front of the door and pee against the wall. Honestly I will never come back again.

I stayed at the single room. The room is small but manageable. The only downside is that there is no outside window. It could be too warm in the summer time. The location is awesome. In a few reviews, some mentioned it’s a bit far from the metro station, but for me, it only took me 5 minutes in feet to Sinchon station and 10 minutes to Hongik station where you can take the train to the airport. The hostel is very close to where young people hang out. Lots to eat and shop!! Kitchen sometimes can be a bit dirty because some travellers (or students) don’t both cleaning after themselves, but the nice uncle and auntie at the building are trying very hard to keep the place clean. The free rice and kimchi all day are very nice. Over all, it’s a good value!

hotel room is good, wifi stable, they provide shampoo and even face lotion set. my room is small that i cant open large luggage. breakfast is too simple, only 8-9.30am. minimart just next door and many convenience store around there. location is excellent, near ewha university station exit 6 and sinchon station, Hongdae just 30minute walking. this is a quiet place to stay. sinchon walking street, many cosmetic shop, coffee shop, hyundai department store, spao etc. just nearby hotel. love ya!

The Guesthouse was traditional Korean Hanok that I liked a lot. The staff was exceptional friendly and helpful that helped me a lot when I arrived in Seoul. From all the places that I stayed on my trip I liked this one the best. I never stayed at Hanok before so it was a new experience for me but I was positively surprised. The Guesthouse is located in Sinchon, which is a famous shopping location, though I didn’t go to Seoul for shopping rather than sightseeing. Since the subway line 2 was about a minute walk away from the guesthouse it was perfect for sightseeing – subway line 2 makes a circle around Seoul and crosses on its way all the other lines multiple times, so it never took more than 20 minutes to go to my target location. Recommended.

Our stay at the hotel adds up to the overall great travel experience in Korea. We’ve been to Korea for a couple of times already and we change guesthouses every now and then. DH Sinchon is the best so far. The guesthouse is new so everything was in great shape and the room was really clean. Though it’s just near Sinchon bus station, we had difficulty locating it at first because taxi drivers don’t know the place since its new. I suggest they post a map/direction on their page of how to reach their place. They also serve a vast array of options for breakfast – more than the usual coffee and bread and it’s included in the booking already. Above all, ALL the staff were friendly and accommodating. Special mention to Bong who was really helpful and goes out of his way to assist us in all our requests. He also cooks egg for everyone :)

While some of the interior design might captivate you, particularly in the pictures, the reality of the building is that it is old and not very organized. Items are cluttered and not neatly placed in the bathroom, kitchen and bedroom. The bathroom has a certain smell and it is not very pleasing. There is hot water though. The 4-bed dorm room is a decent size but the quality was not up to my expectations. The staff does seem friendly and Danny helped me find the place (it is not far from exit 5 but there is no sign with the name of the guesthouse anywhere to be seen therefore a bit hard to find without proper navigation) while the Hong Kong manager chatted with me about KPOP but I wish that they gave me necessary information about the guesthouse upfront instead of having me ask all the important questions about what the front door pass code is, what the wifi password is, and where the bathroom is, etc. This guesthouse did not provide me a towel but they do have toiletries in the bathroom as well as a hairdryer near the kitchen sink outside of the toilet. They did not provide me with slippers nor was there a safety box to keep my valuables. Overall, I was not impressed except for the painting of the cartoon versions of KPOP stars on the wall. However, it was quite inexpensive. There was "breakfast provided" but I was not very willing to make anything in that kitchen, except for boil water because I needed to drink something.

The staff spoke little English but tried very hard to help me - and did so successfully - and despite other comments they DID NOT require me to hand in my room card every time I left the hotel. It IS a love hotel but don't let that put you off. It is in a perfectly safe area, clean, devoid of flyers, and is a place for romance. Couples, both dating and married, come to the hotel to avoid having themselves overheard by friends, family or neighbours (I asked my guesthouse about it) as housing can be very close together with thin walls. It is about 1 minutes walk from the main high street with a convenience store nearby. It's near exit 1 and 2 of Sinchon station. I did not get breakfast so I can't comment on their food, but you can get a kettle from their dining area at no extra cost. The room was clean. There is some small damage to the room (tiles round the tub) which did not effect my stay, and there was a teeny tiny rip on the sheet but that's all. Everything in the room worked fine and was as in the pictures you see. I thoroughly enjoyed my two night stay without any disturbance from the romantic visitors. Couples might not like the toilet which, although separate from the bath, has a misted glass wall, so unless you are comfortable with your partners being minorly visible whilst on the loo, this is not the place for you. I would recommend this hotel to all wanting a comfortable and interesting experience.

this is definitely a love hotel as it even provides complimentary rubber contraseptives ;) this being said, it is still a nice & clean hotel, even the standard room having a nice bathtub with bubble makers. it is also located near subway station, mcDonalds, Burger King and many Korean restaurants, and any kind of shops. So the surrounding is quite vibrant & lively

It's my 3rd time here un Seoul. I can say it's the best value for money you can find for a Private room. The location is amazing, 2minutes maximum from Sinchon Station Exit 3,next to Lesmore store (shoes shop), on the most convenient Subway line. The room was clean, with a fridge, TV, clean toilet and shower. Double bed and mat heater if needed. Very quiet anytime. You take your breakfast every morning. On day time you can drink water, coffee or Tea. You can find many convenience store 24/7, plenty of bars, restaurants, shops at walking distance. The owner was very friendly as well ! I will defo come back again next time ! Highly recommended if u are looking for a Private room in Sinchon

the hotel was a good 5 minutes walk from exit 7 of sinchon station. outside the hotel there are several options for dining. there are also few malls near the hotel. from here i think you can walk to hongik university or ehwa womens university area. but of course you can take the subway in which both are 1 stop away from sinchon. being near the mrt station going to the airport and going to tourist destination is a breeze. as for the breakfast, like most reviews it is basic: toast, boiled egg, bananas and coffee. there are nearby cafe so you can opt to have breakfast outside. our room is quite good. the two bed have a very small space in between which is ok. and then the room comes with a very huge led tv, a small ref, an electronic filtered water machine with hot and cold, a hair dryer and a pc. yes there is a pc inside the room which we never get to try. overall the room is more than what we expect. and the wifi is really good. their staff are friendly and helpful. although i think only the morning staff can speak english. still overall they are so helpful. i will definitely stay here again if i would go back to seoul.

Consider the price, I won't expect much. But generally it's good for budget travelers. The location is good, very near the subway exit (but there are only stairs for that exit, if you are with big luggage and want to take escalator, you need walk like 10mins to another entrance). There are many shops and restaurants around. We felt safe on the way back to hotels at night. But there is no staff around. No need to check in or out, they will give you a password to unlock the room door one day before you arrive. So if there is any emergency, you probably cannot find anyone for help.

I stayed at Cozybox with 3 other friends for a 6 nights. The staffs there were really friendly. They would always greet us with bright cheerful smiles whenever they see us, allowing us to approach them easily whenever we needed help. They were of great help to us in many ways, helping with making a booking for the rail bike, advising us on the safest and fastest way to our destinations, ordering food delivery for us at night and recommending food place for us. We were satisfied with the rooms which were spacious enough for our luggage to be kept out of our way and be easily manageable. The rooms were well equipped with the basic necessities like hangers, clock, hair dryer, a small table, cabinets and refrigerator. I am very satisfied with the toilet which was of a comfortable size and design, had a rain shower, porous slippers provided and most importantly, CLEAN! There were also sufficient towels for us to use and the ventilation was good! The heater was also working smoothly and consistently. As we were going to be in Korea for 16 days, their availability of the laundry machine for free and the drying machine for a small sum of money definitely made them a better choice for us. Lastly, its location is very near to the Sinchon subway station and near to the Ehwa Women University. Its surrounding is filled with various types of boutiques with reasonable price range, cafes, mini mart,street vendors and eateries that are easily available by foot. It is definitely a value for money stay that I would recommend to anyone on a budget trip!

I stayed here over Christmas. I live in Jeju but come to Seoul frequently to visit friends and my boyfriend. They allowed me to leave my bag early on and even though it was a shared dormitory room it was very comfortable. The room was so warm and the breakfast the next day was delicious. I recommended this to my vegan friends as well since it is vegan friendly. Even though I'm not even vegetarian, I felt so welcomed here. This is a great place for my weekend trips and I'll be sure to book again.

I really recommend this hotel. This place located near Sinchon subway station exit 7 or 8 (walk only 3 mins) surrounded with many coffee shops, local restaurants which you can find delicious Korean food there. You can walk across the road to Hyundai department store and Sinchon shopping street which just has been renovated. It is quite similar with Ehwa shopping street. Bus stop and airport bus stop are in front of the hotel. You can take bus number 6002 to go to Incheon Airport. Moreover, the staffs are so nice and friendly. They can communicate in English as well. Wifi is provided for every room to access.

The only thing thats annoying was you can’t have more then one friend over. Because it’s considered a love hotel the managers downstairs legit think ur having an orgy or something. I’m a girl & I had my friend whose a girl & my other friend whose a guy upstairs and they immediately called me & said “NO NO NOTHING SEXUAL. You must only have your girlfriend or your boyfriend upstairs.” I actually laughed at first cause thought they were joking but they werent & the next day gave me so much attitude at the counter. The one manager Mikey is super nice! The guy with glasses (forgot his name) total dick! & was probably just super pissed he couldn’t join the “orgy” Otherwise this hotel’s awesome! It’s a 2 minute walk frm sinchon station which is next to hongdae Theres 2 ways you can get to sinchon stn so try to figure out the faster one. They’re super clean which I loved & room service ppl are so good! Loved coming home to new clean sheets and refreshments are restocked daily & they’re free.

First of all, its location is very strategic....and this is the only advantages of this guesthouse. This guesthouse doesn't has a heater in the room, and it is very dim all over the hotel....The most unacceptable thing is it set a lot of weird and not reasonable rules for us. Lastly he pm me and ask me to rate his hotel for a 10 mark at agoda website but personally i feel that this guesthouse only worth 0.1 mark. Thank you and sorry for my broken english

The K-Guesthouse Sinchon 2 is a fantastic hotel for those looking for a modern, clean and cheap place to stay in Seoul. The hotel is located a few minutes from the subway and 10 minute walk from the main shopping and food area in Sinchon. The hotel itself is simple and clean and worth the price paid. The staff were also very kind and polite. I would be sure to stay here again when I visit Seoul next.

How to say...the location is good. But no staff I saw throughout the days that I stay. Ido the checkin and checkout process by myself. No lift, the stair is narrow, stuff is placed on the corner of the stair. I travel with 20' luggage this time and found difficulty in walking upanddown stair. If you bring large size luggage, better not to choose this hostel. The size of the room is extremely small, that I can't make my 20' luggage opened. Dirt is found on the bed sheet, I wondered the room has been clean up before I checked in. For this price, I think much more better choices that I can found in Sinchon.

Pros: near exit 8 of sinchon station quiet area of sinchon self sufficient apartment unit. comes with kitchenette and washer/dryer and hairdryer. Plenty of towels to use. Fast Wifi. Cons: This is an apartment and not a guesthouse. There is NO reception area and you cannot get into the building if you do not have a key card. This also means you cannot put your luggage at this place if you check-in early or after check-out. The caretaker/host forgot about my change in booking date and had not expected me to turn up. I manage to call him but he could not communicate in English well. Check-in is strictly 2pm, no flexibility. I can understand this but I had informed that my flight arrives at 6am and I would like to know if early check-in is possible. I never even got a response. The bed cover and pillow case was not changed. Too tired I just turn it inside out. Apartment smell of smoke. I just open the windows to try to air it out. So if you speak Korean and can communicate with the caretaker/host in advance to work out the details, this place might work out for you. However I had expected a guesthouse setup (as the name suggest)and thought I should at least be able to work around my requests with the receptionist but it was not the case. Hence this apartment had not worked out for me on this trip.

Guesthouse was situated in an area which we were familiar with, so we had no trouble getting there. It's located in the middle of Sogang Univ Station and Sinchon Station (green line) and is very accessible. Lots of eateries, including Lotteria and a few convenience stores close by. The guesthouse is new and well-maintained. Reception staff were helpful and spoke good English. It is also secure as you need a PIN at the entrance to gain access to the guesthouse at all times. You could let the staff know if you need your room cleaned as and when by placing a notice on the room door, otherwise they will not enter your room. The nearby bustling Sinchon area near Hyundai Dept Store is great to visit during the day and night, and there is also the airport limo bus-stop there. Also, Edae is a short walk away, and Hongdae is one subway stop away.

The location was perfect as it is between Hongik Uni and Ewha Uni. Sinchon provides for a nice weekend itself with loads of restaurants, bars, and shopping. The hotel itself is new and modern, although the room we had was quite small. Despite the small size, it wasn't a hindrance at all because it was well designed to maximize use of the space. There are larger sized rooms which looked to be average for Seoul motels in the Sinchon/Hongdae/Edae areas. The drinks and snacks they provide free of charge are nice enough, and some of the staff was really friendly. One woman was a bit unkind and also seemed to generally have no idea what was going on, but the rest of the staff was helpful. I think they don't speak English, so that's something to consider if you need English-speaking staff. Overall, I'd definitely stay here again as it's a step or two above some of the seedier motels in the area and was comfortable for the two of us.
