The 32 budget-oriented rooms at this hotel are inside three canal houses located on the Singel canal in central Amsterdam. There are numerous cafes and restaurants located within walking distance of the front doors of this establishment and the ease of public transportation provided by the very nearby Central Station makes getting anywhere in or around the city very convenient. One of the more popular tourist attractions with great historical importance is the nearby Anne Frankhuis, where the tragic famous story can be witnessed first hand. An affably-priced hotel in the city center, the clean rooms in this historical part of Amsterdam are a great option, particularly for those traveling on a tight budget.

Happy with the Hotel!”
Last minute booking when I landed in Amsterdam. Arrived early but knew room wouldn't be ready but staff member was very accommodating in allowing me to leave luggage while I walked around town until check-in time. Room was located on the bottom floor so can't really complain. You may have issues if you need to go up the stairs. Room itself was really nice. Room wasn't big but considering it was cold when I arrived in Amsterdam it was nice and cosy. Room had a nice feature wall which suited the style of the hotel and the area it's located in. Bathroom and toilet was decent size nothing spectacular but does its job. It does have a safe in the room if people need to use it. Overall pleasantly surprised with the Hotel. Location is Great (about 5-10min walk from Amsterdam Central) and your pretty much away from the noisy areas of town while your next to the canal. Staff were friendly and accommodating and the room was nice and cosy. Would definitely consider it if I'm back in Amsterdam.
Exceptional”
Great compact hotel. Location was excellent, right on canal and walking distance to all main attractions. We caught the train in from the airport $11.50 euro for 2 adults which took us to Amsterdam Centraal station and we were able to walk to Singel hotel. Room was a good size, no fridge in room but had a pod coffee machine and pod were refilled. Our breakfast was included which had a small but great choice of food. Staff at hotel were very friendly, helpful and informative.
A cute hotel in the central with a good service”
I spent 3 days in singel hotel and took single room. I love the room, it was small but comfy, the bed is super comfy and the room was clean! And they have the great location! I just have to walk 5-10 mins to go to the dam, palace or red district area. The room price is cheap. The service also really good. They help their costumer with smile and when i was there they tried to organize a call for doctor and taxi and take care of the old lady who got injured on her leg. I had a great time in amsterdam.
Exceptional”
I had the smallest room in the hotel, or as I was told, the smallest room in Amsterdam in a 3star hotel, so I can’t speak for their rooms generally. My room was very nicely done, clean, cozy and with a very large window which I could keep open. It was very small, but perfectly adequate for me. The shower was a bit awkward because it was an open part of the bathroom and there was very little space for it next to the sink, and most of the bathroom got wet during a shower. They did provide a squeegee, which really helped to get rid of most of the water from the walls and floor afterward. The only real flaw with the room, assuming SMALL isn’t a huge drawback, was that the TV was mounted so high that it could only be watched when standing, otherwise the image pretty much turned black. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was excellent on a quiet street along the Singel canal, close to Central Station, trams, and a short walk to city Center..
Great hotel for the price”
Stayed in Singel hotel over Easter 2017. The hotel was situated in a brilliant location (not even a 5mins walk from central station), our room was spotless and the bed was big & comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is wanting to stay in Amsterdam Central. The reception staff are great for information and are very pleasant. Thank you for a great holiday!
Unbeatable location!”
The location is amazing! It is located in the heart of Amsterdam but not noisy and crowded!! (I think this is the most strength of this hotel). I can just walk to the central train station, boat tours, supermarket, and many tourist destinations. Amazingly, the area around the hotel is quite peaceful. There is a canal in front of the hotel. We are lucky that we have got the room with the canal's view. Unfortunately, there was a big construction in front of the hotel during my visiting time. However, that is not the hotel's fault. Overall, I really like this hotel. P.S. the price might seem expensive compared to hotels in the other countries. But, to compare in just Amsterdam, the price is really OK.
No point in paying more.”
I have stayed at the Singel a number of times over a period of twenty years, or so, and I see no earthly point in paying more for a hotel in Amsterdam. The hotel was modernised a few years back and is now clean, immaculate almost, and a pleasure to stay at. A big attraction, is that the hotel is away from busy roads and, being set on a lightly-used canal-side road, is very quiet at night. The staff are extremely friendly.
My First Choice!”
It's considered pricy for Malaysian especially after the conversion, but it's definitely value for money and I will be staying the same hotel again if I'm back to Amsterdam! Location is decent, walking distance to Amsterdam Centraal and Jordaan, foods can easily found and view is excellent, right in-front of the canal. Staff are awesome, the friendly people introduced to us where we should and where we shouldn't go as some of the places are meant for tourist and price could be high. You can just ask the counter whenever you want to go any places. Rooms are equipped with coffee machines, smart TV and more. Free coffee, for coffee addicts like me. Best.
The best value for money you're likely to find.”
I spent two nights at the Singel Hotel and found everything great. Considering that it MORE expensive to take a private room in a hostel (!), the Singel Hotel is a brilliant choice. It's clean, central and the breakfast buffet is seriously good. I definitely recommend this for single travellers looking for affordable Amsterdam digs.
Lovely hotel in a perfect location”
The hotel was ideally situated minutes from Amsterdam Central station along the banks of one of the many canals. Itself, the hotel was lovely and clean with very nice (albeit small) rooms which is perfect for a short stay in Amsterdam city centre. Would recommend a stay here and hope to stay here again myself.
What a truly great hotel very nice and clean!!! ”
As stated above, it was truly a very nice hotel. Like 5 to 10 minute walk from Central Station. Rooms have view of the canal. Brekfast buffet was really nice. Rooms are very nice as well with great bathrooms. All looks really new. They even have really nice umbrellas for when it rains out, free of charge. Bottom line, I will definitely stay here again next time I go to Amsterdam!!!
Good location, decent hotel”
A small nice hotel with very nice location with a canal in front. You can walk to many places (shopping street, museums, Red Light District etc. The breakfast was good with several choices. Staff was friendly and helpful. Helped me arrange a car pickup/storage service, because parking in central Amsterdam costs a lot! Room is small. Just a bed for sleeping. Bathroom is ok. Price is good compared with other hotels nearby. Stayed during New Year, where prices were a bit high everywhere. If you want to explore Amsterdam and not spend time in room, I will recommend this hotel. But don't expect more than a decent room.
Amsterdam Stopover”
Both of us enjoyed our stay in the Singel. It was convenient for City Centre shopping and sight seeing.Reasonable breakfast selection and internet access. Rooms were pretty small . Toilet was just big enough for one at a time. However in warm weather there was no cooling except to open the windows and get the night traffic noises...we sweated a bit. Overall it was good for a stopover for a couple of nights but not longer. The Red light area is nearby for a tourist attraction.
Nice view and great location”
Singel hotel is just within 10 mins walk from AMS central station, and close to nearby attractions !! Everything are great, neat and tidy room, warm services, nice cannal view from room :)
Great staff”
Extremely friendly and helpful front office staff. I feel the most hospitable people over the years my frequent visits to Amsterdam. Go for smallest room in Amsterdam only if you can handle cramped living. As for me, def no no, am too old to rough it out. Location grreat overlooking the canal and just 10 min leisurely or 5 min brisk walk to the Central station.
Strategic location”
Not more than 10 mins from Amsterdam Central. You basically can get everything you want within walking distance. Hotel staff was very helpful, the hotel had recently been renovated so it feels good! Love it.
Near Amsterdam central station”
A plus point of this hotel is the proximity to central station. This makes our travel from the airport to the hotel relatively simple-via the train! Amsterdam main tourists sites are in the vicinity one another and from the hotel, it is simple to walk to them. By foot, we have covered almost everything we want to see. Overall the stay is very plseasant! However, we did have a wifi issue in our room. We requested for a quiet room at the high floor and were given a room at the roof. Yes it is quite quiet as it is away from other rooms (we even have to walk along a short pavement to get to the attic). However, once we reached our room, the connection became weak and eventually got cut off. I believe is probably the location of our room (room 40) and is far from the proximity of others, and hence the wifi became weaker (or more straightforwardly, there is none) once we were away from the common rooms. I believe if we have gotten other rooms, there be no issue.
Peter + Paulette Tate from New Zealand”
Helpfull staff, great location for our first Amsterdam visit. Room was clean and comfortable. We would stay again and we will recommend your hotel
Lovely hotel in the city centre”
Really friendly helpful staff! Lovely hotel central to train station & the sights of Amsterdam all close by! The only downside our room was on the small side!
Convenient location ”
It was a short stay at Amsterdam hence this hotel is a good location to many tourist spots. The hotel staff are very friendly and give good recommendations!
