Wonderful stay!
The Sir Stamford was everything we were looking for! GREAT location - within walking distance of the Opera House, Circular Quay to catch the train, bus or ferries, Sydney bridge and The Rocks. Very FRIENDLY and HELPFUL staff - every single one of the concierges that we spoke to was so informative and so willing to help us with our needs. COMFORTABLE and large room - very large bathroom, bed/pillows oh-so comfy, sofa and sitting area very spacious. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Perfectly quaint boutique city hotel
Perfect location for the last night in Sydney. I stayed in two other hotels for this trip and wished I had stayed longer at Sir Stamford to enjoy the famed high tea or just sit back to admire the many antiques and fine art. Will definitely stay here and for more days on my next trip to Sydney. Likes: 1. Super large room, spacious and clean. 2. Club floor lounge on Level 3 3. Bathroom amenities from L'Occitane 4. Finally, a hand held shower with strong pressure! The other two hotels had fixed showers which took getting used to. Neutral: Requested for two single beds, it's just a Queen bed pulled apart so it looked tiny in width compared to a super single or double bed. But it looked so cute! It is sufficient if you are of average size but otherwise, do request specifically for what you need.

You can get better for your money.
I moved hotel after this booking as frankly its old and the services are below standard. For less money I moved to a 5 star hotel with good modern services. The hotel is very dated and internet slow etc.. Honestly I have been to this hotel a year ago and thought i would give it another try but that will not happen again. Cleaner staff need retraining forgetting to take away empty fast food containers like pizza box next to the trash bin.

Very Good Location
Recommeded! You need to manually turn off the lights one at a time though. There are no central controls beside the beds.

mini break in Sydney
I wanted a good location but not noisy. Circular Quay (CQ) area is where I usually try to stay near. The Sir Stamford is a gem. Did not hear the week end visitors at CQ. Lovely to have the Garden view from my window. Close to railway station for train trip to and from airport, plus trip to the Blue Mountains. Hotel was so quiet (which I like). Breakfast and snack food at night were delicious. Have raved about this hotel to all and sundry.

location, friendllyness, service
The only issue (minor) is that the water pressure when showering makes it difficult to get soap out of long hair.
