Beautiful Place/WONDERFUL LOCATION”
We had a great stay at the the Sirikamsan House. It's very beautiful, plants everywhere, almost like you're in a mini jungle within the old City walls. The location is perfect for walking to anything you need. 7-11 a block away, Sunday Night Market a 5 minute walk right down the street. The staff was very friendly and helpful, however we found it hard to get breakfast in the mornings, kind of seemed like no one was around. But no worries, there were plenty of restaurants and street food everywhere around. The B&B is located right behind temples, so when you step outside, it's a nice and quiet little tucked away place. Bathrooms and showers seemed decently clean for the most part, I give benefit of the doubt considering in rained a lot during our 5 night stay, so it's kind of hard to not track dirt and water everywhere. The bathrooms ran out of toilet paper for a couple of days, didn't really bother me at all because we take wet wipes everywhere (most public restrooms don't have toilet paper anyway.) All in all, we would absolutely stay here again when in Chiang Mai, 100% recommended.
What a GEM! Great place in Chiang Mai”
I travel extensively and count on reviews. I wasn't disappointed at Siri Kamsan house. It is a very lovely, small boutique property. The rooms are nicely decorated and very clean. They have mini refrigerators in the room as well as a hot pot, desk area, flat screen TV, hot water for showers, private bathrooms and free wifi. Since this is off the main street, the property is fairly quiet. They have a sitting area at the entry, and currently do not serve any food but there is a nice cafe right across the street that has a nice selection of breakfast and lunch/dinner food options. It is inside the old city, but on the opposite side of the city from the Thae Pae gate. It is close to Wat Pra and the Chiang Mai museum though. I walked about 10 minutes to a night food market which was entertaining. I really liked this hotel, in fact I extended my stay here 3 nights. Nice staff, woman who is at front desk speaks some english, and is very helpful. I would definitely recommend this if you are looking for a really nice place at a really good price!
5 star experience with budget price”
We are very glad that we have chosen to stay in sirikamsan during our trip to Chiang Mai. The owner is very friendly and helpful. She speaks fluent English as well. She helped us to solve all problems and arrange transportation for us (not to forget she bargained the best price for us) during our stay. We felt at home in sirikamsan and we became friends with the owner. The rooms are clean and it is very centrally located. We enjoy our stay in sirikamsan to the max and will definitely come back again.
Such a nice visit! ”
As two young female backpacker we LOVED the Sirikamsan House! Location was great - everything within old city was in walking distance. The staff was so kind, bringing us coffee and water bottles every day and answering any questions we had. My friend threw out an old piece of small jewelry in the garbage and when we can home that night, the person who cleaned our room had seen the jewelry in the bottom of the garbage and took it out and put it on the counter! Super super honest and kind people. Beds definitely were quite hard and shower was a learning curve, but when in Thailand what else would you expect. HIGHLY recommend to anyone. Such a nice place to come home to at the end of the day.
Clean, friendly, comfort place to stay at”
This was my 2nd time in Chiang Mai. Both were solo trip. In my previous trip to Chiang Mai, as a stranger and a decent lady I rather to stayed in Le Meridien hotel for 5 days for safety reason. It was Luxury and cool hotel, but of course expensive. During my previous trip I got to know that there are lots of small hotels at reasonable cost and lots activities for travelers to do. However, I did only joined a cooking class and walk around the city. Recently, I planned 10 days trip to Chiang Mai in December. With experience, I decided to stay in a new B&B (just opened a month ago) which is located in the old city and close to the airport (only takes 15 mins by tak tak). It is a small house with 6 rooms in 1st floor and backpacker zone downstair. During the trip, I stayed at a double bed deluxe room in 1st floor. It was classy, clean and tidy with decent bathroom. Free wifi is available in and out of the room. Surprisingly, International TV channels are available in the room. A lady named May, a owner of the B&B, who is really friendly and helpful. It was nice to have small talk with her in every mornings so that I got to know lots of useful info for transportation and things to do. It is easy to reach everywhere in the old city in walking distance even it is not a step out of the night life area. In general, It was nice to stay in this local run classic and peaceful hostel.
Nice for relaxing, comfortable, quiet and clean”
I recommend this place! It has nice hotel-style rooms with fresh drinking water delivered daily. It is in the old town of Chiang Mai so pretty easy to get everywhere. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. One annoying thing is that there was mineral water in our room that they charged us for drinking even though they were just sitting in the fridge with no sign or price tag. Not a big deal. Free tea is good and STRONG
I had a mostly really good experience with Sirikamsan House. Two things I didn't like: 1. When I arranged for a late check in, the owner left her phone number on the front of the gate (which was locked) and said I should call. Of course, being from out of the country I didn't have a phone and the tuk-tuk driver sped off as soon as I got my things. I was lucky enough that someone came out to Skype in the small courtyard so I was able to be let in. Otherwise, I'm not sure what I would have done. 2. The hot water heater in the shower didn't work for more than 7 seconds at any point during the week. Not a huge deal when the weather is +30C, but it would have been nice to have a hot shower. Other than that, it was a great stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and was cleaned everyday. I didn't see any evidence of bugs, rodents or anything else like that. I got a private room, so I had a shower and toilet, both of which were very clean and I didn't feel dirty using them at all. The grounds of the guesthouse were clean and looked well kept. There were a few things in the area, but the major action happened on the other side of Old Town, so it was a walk to get anywhere.
First time I've given a hotel on Agoda 10/10!”
This is the first time (in years of using this site) I've given a hotel a perfect 10 rating. This place is flawless- especially when you consider the incredibly low price. I actually moved to this place, from a 4 star (one that felt like a 2 star) the night before. I was paying $120/night for an old run down hotel in another part of the city. I decided to try this place, although- I was a bit reluctant as part of it (first floor) is a budget/shared room (I assumed for backpackers). I prefer business hotels, and don't mind paying more for the service, quality, privacy. This place was an incredible surprise. The upper floor, are all private rooms- like you'd get in any quality 3 or 4 star hotel (and I do mean- quality). Everything is spotless clean, furnishings are fresh, and above all else- the staff... they could work at a 5-star resort. They helped me with many small things, I would never expect staff at a hotel to help someone with. Truly, exceptional service. The front yard of the hotel is a very nicely crafted garden/pagoda, with room to sit, relax, read a book, do some work on your laptop, etc. Despite being right inside the Old City, and only about 75m. from the main street- this place is very, very quiet/peaceful. I was actually surprised by this. Sure, the occasional motorbike or car will drive by, but all in all, very quiet/relaxing. Give these guys a try. I have very high standards, and they met them all.
Very clean, a bit impersonal”
Our room at Sirikamsan House exceeded expectations in terms of cleanliness and decor. The room was very pretty and was cleaned every day, with fresh towels and water provided. We felt the guest house lacked a bit of personality. Staff - while helpful enough - seemed a bit distant, and while the outside garden looks nice, something made it not inviting or pleasant to sit in and relax outside. Overall Sirikamsan House was very (VERY!) good value for money, but not as friendly as other places we have stayed in Thailand.
Great deal, but not very comfortable.”
My friends and I had a great stay at Sirikamsan House. I have traveled and stayed in hostels/hotels all over the world and felt we got a great deal for the price! The things I would change or clarify for future guests: 1. Location is great if you have a motorbike or taxi. 2. The room was somewhat clean. It is in need of some serious deep cleaning as there were cobwebs and dust on the walls. And one of the 6 bunkbeds had obvious stains on the sheets). We were happy and fine staying there, but for some I know this would be a dealbreaker. 3. There really isn't much breakfast to speak of, so don't expect to eat a great meal there. There is free coffee and tea every morning in the "lobby" area. 4. The beds are hard as wood. Overall, it was a good deal for the money and I would consider staying there again. But for those with more comfort needs and higher standards, you may want to look elsewhere. Definitely not a three star hotel, 2 at best. But beautiful grounds, quiet, and very pleasant and helpful staff. I'd recommend it to my backpacking friends in a heartbeat.
Quiet neighbourhood, slightly far from main sight-seeing spots”
Stayed 4 nights at Sirikamsan with family in January. In general the guest house is of good value considering the price, the quiet neighbourhood and facilities. (Bathroom amenities, mini-fridge and hairdryer were provided.) One of the cons of Sirikamsan is that the guest house a little far from the main sight-seeing spots. It took us about 15 minutes walk to the Sunday night market which was good. But the walk could be a little dingy after 9pm as the neighbourhood could be a little too quiet and deserted at night. Another point I would like to raise is that tissue paper in the living room was not refilled after it went empty. A family friend stayed in another room also experienced the same problem. And the general hygiene in the room could be improved with more thorough dusty/mopping.
Easy acces & great location”
Perfect if you're a budget traveller not wanting to stay in a hostel. It has absolutely everything you would need; huge room, huge bed and excellent location in old city. For a solo traveller it was perfect! Only downside was the amount of noise in the morning from either other guests or staff (not sure). But I would definitely stay there again on my next visit to Chiang Mai.
We loved our stay here and booked an extra night! Lady owner was so friendly an smiley, the rooms were gorgeous and clean and the atmosphere womderful. Perfectly located in old town Chiang Mai. We booked on Agoda, for a private double and then twin, great price, great rooms! Highly highly recommended!
Lovely staff, lovely stay!”
I absolutely loved this place! The staff greeted me by name as I walked up and took care of me from beginning to end. The room was fabulous, the perfect size, accommodations and super comfortable. I stayed for 4 nights and would definitely go back and stay for longer. The location is great for Old City touring and the surrounding sites just outside the city. I pretty much walked everywhere but the tuk-tuks or the red cars(really trucks) are another great option. As a solo traveler I never felt nervous walking around day or night and it was always lovely to return to the Siri House! Highly recommend!!
Everyone working here is so friendly and helpful. I stayed in an AC double room with shared bathroom. Room and bathroom were always clean. Free coffee and tea in the mornings with an outdoor seating area. Just off a larger road so not too loud and a 10 minute walk from Wat Phra Singh, Wat Chedi Luang, the Chiang Mai Gate Market, and a few other places. 7/11 close by too! I would stay here again for my next visit to Chiang Mai.
Really lovely rooms and great location”
We went for one of the Deluxe rooms upstairs and I have to say it was really good. We’ve stayed in many Thai hostels and hotels and these rooms were exceptional. Very clean, large space, massive bed, good aircon, nice modern bathroom, decent WiFi and amazingly quiet for the location. It was about a third more expensive than most places we’ve stayed in but on reflection 900b on this occasion felt more than fair. The room was cleaned everyday and the staff were friendly too. They even managed to let us extend our stay for 2 more nights - there’s lots to see and do and so many great places to eat - we just couldn’t help spending more time here! Happy to recommend. In fact we may well come back after we’ve visited Chiang Rai and Pai.
Review for the Jasmie Room”
We stayed in this hostel for a total of 10 nights because we simply liked this hostel. But we changed the rooms from time to time. The Jasmine room is ver nice, you got plenty of space and a seperate bathroom. There is a watercooker and a refrierator in this room. All in all you get really bang for your bucks. The staff is very kind and friendly. You get Coffee for free in the morning. You also get 2 Bottles of water and 2 Towels everyday! All in all our favourite Hostel in Chiang Mai, because it is quiet there and you can reach the most important sights of pai by walking from there!
Large room but bed was hard as stone!”
I still can't get over how hard that mattress was. It was like sleeping on the floor. And a chat to the manager to see if we could swap rooms revealed that all the mattresses are like that. A shame because the room was large and there was a comfy couch and desk space. No storage or cupboard space so the room is not suitable for more than a few nights to stay (we stayed a week and lack of storage space was frustrating). The lobby area was nice to sit around at night with a beer or two. Not as many restaurants around this area but close to Chiang Mai gate markets and there's a park close by for exercise or sitting in the sun. I was disappointed at the level of actual cleaning done during their house-keeping as our bathroom didn't look any different afterwards and our drain was still dirty. We had to ask for more toilet-paper as they didn't restock it after it had run out.
i reserved for bunk beds for 6person but the owner upgrade our rooms to 3private rooms and really thankful. chiang mai market is really cheap even in weekend market. better to enjoy local food and fruits and shopping in chiang mai is cheaper than in bkk triple pricey.
Great little hotel off the beaten track a bit in the old-city. Quiet at night although it does get busy and a bit noisy in the mornings with the morning traffic which is quite surprisingly noisy despite it being a small street. I imagine that had I one of the other rooms (not on the outside of the compound) it would have been less of an issue. Everything else was better than advertised. Lovely staff and nice clean facilities with a big bed. Only quirk was that the electricity would only work in the room when you put your key-card into the room key slot. This made charging batteries a bit of a pain as you would only be able to do so while in the room.
