"I can’t tell you how impressed we were with Hotel Manager, Mr. Hok (hawk). This man attended to our every need and personally made sure that any requests were completed to our satisfaction. We’ve stayed in a lot of hotels, and let me tell ya, Mr. Hok is absolutely the best. Great looking hotel, big Asian buffet breakfast, and nice restaurants. The only negative was the street in front of the hotel was being redone, so there was major inconvenience, but at the rate the were going, it won’t be long before they’re done with it. If you are going there to stop by the Thai Embassy, it’s literally less than a five minute walk, on the opposite end of the same street. We can’t say enough about Mr. Hoc and his staff and his beautiful hotel. Do yourself a favor and book there if you are going to Vientiene, you won’t be disappointed! Tell Mr. Hok that Mr. Andrade from room 2401 sent you!"

"This Green Park Boutique Hotel is not a big hotel but it is a very beautiful and nice place to stay a few nights. The staff is very accommodating and knows her work and gives us suggestion of where to go to get the best place and value of money. Breakfast is excellent. We found that there were few places that we can say the best. But this hotel has everything one needs in the room, the best we can get !. Every details in the room are well taken care of. We love the wooden teak floor and furniture. We spent our day and night to dine at the hotel. We order what we would like to have and they were willing to cook it for us. The garden is very natural and exotic. We will be back again if we go to Vientiane again. We really impressed with this hotel and staff."

"Stayed here for one night and it was a fantastic experience. The staff was very hospitable. Breakfast buffet was nice and had an omelette station/eggs your way made to order. Waitresses very attentive. The rooms are very handsomely appointed. Nice furnishings. Comfortable bed and pillows. Bright bathroom with shower and separate bathtub. The water pressure in the shower was powerful, Hotel provided liquid soaps were nicely scented and sudsy. Washcloths, hand towels, and bath towels were thick and comfy. The room had a very reasonably priced minibar. So reasonable, I couldn’t justify the walk to a minimart with all that convenience in my room. Water, beer, soda, snacks, and fruit juices. Great lighting in the room. Many options for your mood be it work, sleep, daytime, or to relax. Large aircon lobby with cafe. Staff provided us an early check in and a late checkout and kept our bags in storage while I relaxed In lobby before collecting my passport at Thai consulate. They offer complimentary transportation to the riverside after 6pm. Something to consider if you want to see more of the city. We didn’t have a need to leave our street as we found great Thai, Indian, Lao, and Western food on our doorstep so to speak. Delhi Durbar across the street is some of the best Indian anywhere in SE Asia. Classy place too. Nomad Cafe has nice paninis and good coffee. Heading south from Hotel you’ll find a couple mini marts and local food joints. 10/10 would stay again. Pro Tip: If you brought a laptop or device that can connected by HDMI, the wall mounted flatscreen has a line underneath the top shelf. "

"I stayed at Heuan Lao for 5 nights with my husband. Positive: The owner was a very friendly. Free bottles of water. There is bicycle rental for 10,000 kip per day. There is laundry service. The guesthouse is one block away from a locally sourced delicatessen. The guesthouse is within walking distance of "Naked Espresso", the best coffee place in town. Neutral: The internet at the guesthouse was spotty and slow. The guesthouse is a 10-15 minute walk from the city center, but a 2 minute bike ride. I personally thought that $13 USD per night would buy a mid-range hotel, and I thought this was more of a $5 sort of a place. Negative: I am an animal lover- but that love does that extend to having my sleep interrupted. There are 5-7 dogs and 4-5 cats that call the guesthouse their home, and lay on the eating tables and do whatever they want. The dogs would often erupt into barking/howling sessions during the night when the leaves would rustle or someone would walk by. The cats would be procreating loudly during the night. If you like to have a solid night's sleep, this is a problem. The good thing was you couldn't hear traffic, but the veritable cacophony of dogs and cats was a bit disruptive. Dogs and cats and I are usually friends. However, one night I wanted to go grab a water from the fridge downstairs. I walked out of the room and two of the dogs started growling at me. I walked closer and their growls grew more ferocious.....so I decided to retreat. As I mentioned, there were both positive and negative aspects to Heuan Lao, but I do believe you could get more value from another hotel- so before choosing this, look around. A lot of people stayed there and seemed to be fine with this-so this is just my opinion."

"This was my fifth trip to Vientiane and second time Ive stayed at Lao Golden. It would have been my third time, but last trip it was fully booked. This hotel is a great location if you are is Vientiane for the Thai consulate. It's nice to have a hotel nearby for a few reasons. 1. Taxi's / Tuk tuks in Vientiane are relatively expensive compared to Thailand and you have to go through an annoying routine of haggling them down on price every time you want one. So avoiding using taxi's unnecessarily for trips to the consulate will save you a few coins and all the bother. 2. It's also useful to be close by if there's a long queue at the consulate, I had quite a long wait, so walked back to the hotel for an hour and a half and relaxed there with air con, showers, breakfast and TV instead of sitting miserably at the consulate in the heat and monotony. There's also small shops nearby, a few restaurants, including a pizza company all of which serves me fine for the two days I'm there. The rooms are really nice, clean, white and spacious and a decent TV. Generous breakfast is also nice - buffet with plenty of choice. Quite honestly I've seen all of Vientiane on previous trips, I'm not bothered about seeing it again, I don't relish the thought of going there, but this hotel makes this mandatory trip just a little easier / happier. I will definately be booking again."

"Hotel was nice. Outside of the main tourist centre so brought a different view to Vientiane compared with staying by the river. Staff were very friendly, offering fresh fruits when we came back from a day out. They spoke little English but made us feel comfortable. The chef who cooked breakfast remembered us each morning and was happy to cook for us. I would definately stay in the hotel again. One negative was that there was a place next door which had LOUD music for a couple of day from midday, although it turned off around 11pm. But it penetrated all through our room. Maybe try to get a room which faces into the hotel car park as opposed to facing the next block. Also wifi did not work in our room, only in public areas. Satellite tv had no English channels.. It was however a nice change from Guesthouses charging the same amount by the river. Room was made daily, fresh towels etc... Also close to gym spa..."
