Late post Been to Jaisalmer in dec 2022, this was not the first time to visit Jaisalmer but yes my first stay in sum. Had to visit with family and specially during pandemic situation so was extra careful for booking and found desert springs. Tents were very cosy, neat and clean. Even it was winters but in tent we really did not feel the temperature. Morning we been to tanot mata and ghantiyali mata temple. Took bharat mala highway road which is amazing and enjoyed the driving. Need to be extra careful with respect to fuel when someone traveling that highway. Coming back to resort experience I found this place a highly recommended place to stay, food, hospitality and location is amazing. Even for camel safari they are taking to completely different place where there is no crowd. Staff is very supportive and even I met one of the owner and found him collecting the feedback from guest and instructing his staff on given points. My next visit as well no other option then desert Sky resort. Thank you for awesome food and hospitality.

If you visit Jaisalmer, Keep two days aside for dessert activities and a unique experience of staying in a tent. 40 kms from the city of Jaisalmer is the SAM SAND DUNES. Arrive at the resort in morning or evening as per your visit schedule. You must have your own vehicle or taxi at your disposal. Well maintained Tent with a relaxing deck attached will destress you instantly. I have arrived late evening by road from Jodhpur. (Jaisalmer airport has low connectivity with frequent reschedule be prepared for it, if your flight is from local airport, direct flights are suddenly changed via one stop having layover of upto 11 hours - yes it happened with me. I took a connecting flight from Delhi to Mumbai at my own cost at the last moment, my complain is pending with Spicejet and with Ministry of civil avaiation). Anyway the cultural evening at the resort will keep your mind and soul pampered with music, dance, food and cocktails. Next day keep yourself free for the activities a must for all visitors. Camel ride, dessert sand busing, paragliding, drive the scooter on the sand. Enjoy dinner again at your resort. Creative artist can make short videos of all the activities, make your own reels for social media and lot more. Next day check out after breakfast. Visit the historic Sonar Kella (Trikongarh), Patwaro ki havelli, Salam Singh ki haveli, Gadisagar lake, War museum. Head for the airport or back to Jodhpur by road (4 hours drive) Try out 1156 restaurant for lunch or dinner at Jaisalmer city. Local camel wool blankets, handicraft bedsheets, dress and jewellery and artefacts shopping must be in your wish list.

Service is great ”
“What?! You will stay in the desert, in a tent, in the middle of December?” You are mad” “What?! You will drive down from Delhi to Jaisalmer?! Think it over carefully!” These, and a chorus of other “helpful” advice from friends and well-wishers followed us all the way during our December road trip to Rajasthan. We took the following route : Delhi-Jaipur-Udaipur-Jodhpur-Jaisalmer-Jaipur, and back to Delhi. The road from Jodhpur to Jaisalmer was a dream – smooth and even, and we just flew through. A word of warning here – the speed limit on this road is 80km/hour, and yours truly was challaned for exceeding the speed limit (I was driving at 91 km/hr!). We left Jodhpur at 9.30am, and reached Jaisalmer at about 2.30 pm. Desert Sky Desert Safari is further away, about 40 km from the city, so that took another 45 minutes. There was enough parking space in front of the resort, and a group of Rajasthani musicians sitting on a platform near the gate greet you loudly and lustily, playing on various musical instruments. The cottage itself is not really a tent as we visualize it (a canvas mounted on pegs dug in the ground), but a nice big cottage covered in canvas, with a verandah in front. Inside is a very large room – one side has a double bed and arrangement for morning tea/coffee, and the other side a couple of chairs and tables. The bathroom had a dressing room and cupboard attached to it. We were surprised to have constant, running hot water (we thought water would be a problem in the desert!), and I was thrilled at the quality of the water – my hair was soft and shiny after washing it! The cottage was cosy and comfortable, and the razai provided, along with the oil heater was more than sufficient. The resort is beautiful. There are bird houses everywhere, and hundreds of birds flock to the resort, feeding on the grains the staff members scatter around the premises. When was the last time that you saw a sparrow in Delhi? Well, Desert Sky Desert Safari is full of sparro

Really enjoyed”
must say, I went for it after too much of searching but each and every single penny is worth for it. Hospitality is wow... Night star gazing and sunrise was damn exceptional from where they set it up... And all activities was wonderful... I must recommend to anyone and please don't you dare to think I'm paid to write above details because I'm really happy especially with Mr Hanif who helped us even after we left the property in Jaisalmer. · I have only one point which should be considered and that is, a single layer of curtain required inside the tent to cover up extra layer of security that can hide the holes created by the ropes that keeps the tent in place.Even though nothing was insecure but I think one layer of curtain can make things a bit more comfortable. Rest everything was damn good. I have also added one picture of which contains the snap of office in main city of Jaisalmer where they take you after pickup from station or airport. Then post lunch they take you to Damodra. Also added pics of all the activities that they provide . Check-in:3pm After one hour rest, 4pm-They take by cab at the spot where camels are ready for camel safari. Ensure you ask camel rider to give ride on sand dunes for full stretch. Then after coming back post sunset Snacks and dinner Then star gaze point is damn awesome don't miss it and sunrise point too. Enjyoyyyy . If you want to make the full off it then go for star gaze in dark and wake up early for sunrise.

Extensive desert safari”
During our Rajasthan trip, our group had planned to spend a day in the desert camps and enjoy the desert safari. There are several private desert safari tours that are conducted here. They cost about 200 rupees per person and they take you in an open gypsy. One can also book the whole gypsy.....but there is no need to that as finally all reach the same destination....thats the middle of the desert for the sunset view. Riding in an open gypsy, full speed, cutting through the desert sand, going up and down the dunes.....it felt surreal. Almost as though in a movie. The ride lasted around 15-20 minutes and we reached a common base location in the middle of the desert from where the sunset can be seen unobstructed. There were also various camel riders around, sitting huddled at small tea shacks or bargaining with tourists for camel rides. The costs for a camel ride will depend on how much adventure one seeks. I was pretty scared to get on a camel....but was coaxed and made to finally ride one. The ride was....well....bumpy. I am not riding a camel anytime soon again. But my family enjoyed it very much. The riders wanted to take us far in the desert (for more money ofcourse) but we declined and rode only nearby. Soon the sunset was upon us and I watched one of the most beautiful sunsets yet. Believe me...I have watched sunsets in many places....even in different states....but a sunset in desert is truly amazing. For a minute everything around is glowing, if not golden. Its peaceful....and I just wanted to keep sitting on the sand and keep watching the sky. Once the sunset was over, the whole camp came back to life again and the gypsies scrambled back to the tents we started from. While returning they do not ride on the dunes again as its dangerous during dark. We returned via the road. I enjoyed this experience so much that if I ever return for another Rajasthan tour, then I will definitely make time for a longer stay in the desert and enjoy a more extensive desert

We had booked one night stay at Desert Springs Resort, it is located off the main road near Kanoi village in a quiet place very close to the sand dunes. We had booked Regale tent which is more expensive than comfort but worth the money as it is more spacious and cleaner. Cultural programme is excellent which is anchored by Sandhya, food is awesome , enough starters and main dishes , people are courteous, main attraction is camel ride to sand dunes at sunset, it's an unforgettable experience, camel ride is included in the room tariff so don't have to pay anything extra except tips at your own will. Compliments to camp manager who is always available to help or answer any query.

Contacted the hotel owner of " Sky Desert Safari" hotel by phone regarding arrangements for a "CAMEL DESERT SAFARI" as no tourist leaves Jaisalmer or Jodhpur without experiencing a authentic camel ride in the Thar desert. Since there was "Covid-19" travel restrictions there was a lack of tourists for group camel rides.Luckily "Toffu Safari" who deal in "Camel Safari's" managed to arrange a camel ride for me with a group of 3 other tourists..The cost of the "Camel Safari" was Rs 1800/ person thanks to the formation of the group of tourists. and left the hotel at 1530 hrs for the 40 kms ride to " Sam Sand Dunes" from Jaisalmer. .Finally we reached " Camel Point " near " Sam Sand Dunes " where our camels were waiting for us to mount them. Camel handlers Mr Amin and a young boy Ayub got us mounted onto our individual camels and led us in a single file akin to a caravan towards Sam Sand dunes. It was a amazing 40 minutes ride and along the way passed alongside the plush "Camel Safari Tents" where tourists were entertained to a night of local dance and music after a camel safari ride. Almost all the tourists were local Indians from different states of India akin to me from the State of Maharashtra. On arrival at the imposing Sam Sand Dunes we were dismounted our camels at the base of one of the 30-60 meters tall Sand Dunes and told to indulge in our fantasies regarding photography on the picturesque dunes. .After the setting of the Sun which we observed from the Dunes we were taken to the only lone family farmhouse in the vicinity of the desert owned by Amin .A small isolated village farmhouse with cows, chickens, goats, camels and a small ferocious Indie dog. No electricity and my battery charger was non operational and was hoping it would last me till tomorrow. After a excellent cup of tea we were served dinner which tasted excellent although ordinary vegetarian food .After dinner Amin loaded a camel with our mattresses and we walked up a Sand dune where we set up camp in

Camel walk was great”
must do!! The camel walk was great and we had the very lovely sunset view. Not my first time for a camel ride in the dessert. Had it in Dubai years before but they offer a much longer ride here. We also had a drink while enjoying the sunset. Only problem is there is quite a bit of rubbish there. We were told that they do clean up the place on a regular basis however with the nature I believe it’s not possible to pick up all the rubbish... best is to have everyone to pick up their own rubbish to maintain the environment. The jeep ride was wide but I love it too!!! We had pay extra to go with the camel cart which went to place with fewer people. The camp we went also include the folk dance. However I didn’t enjoy it too much. That can be skipped.

After khaba fort we started our journey for Sam sand dunes(40 km from jaisalmer city) which is the most favourite place for movies shooting and top tourist destination in jaisalmer. Just before 2 km from sam sand dunes many tour operators stopped us on the way and offered camel and jeep safari.we took the card from them.On entering sam sand dunes area we paid 50 rs charge for bike entry and took a look of that area on bike and obviously many tour operators and camel wala stopped us and offer ride at reasonable price. Finally after negotiation we booked jeep safari and camel ride(camel wala took you outside of sand dunes not inner area in this ride) in 820 rs.jeep safari was of 40 minute ride and was full of fun.Jeep safari on sand dunes is new and different kind of experience. Our driver show us the fencing which was made for BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN shooting.Stopped jeep on dunes and took many photos. It was definitely a desert adrenaline rush as the time the driver accelerates power driving in the Thar Desert. After that we opted for 1 hour camel ride on sam sand dunes(charge 350 for two person).Camel wala took us to the dunes and our ride was around 60 minutes. At one point camel wala gave the control of camel to us and said you try and he stopped at one point with another camel wala for gossiping. Our camel took us around half kilometer and still we didn't saw our camel wala. Our camel was naughty and started to follow other camel but we were laughing and enjoying without knowing how to stop camel. But finally camel wala came on another camel and controlled our camel. This experience was exciting.

Very comfortable price ”
be missed Sand dunes of Rajasthan while in Jaisalmer, one can experience para gliding, camel ride, desert safari, ATV driving and many more activities while enjoying local culture and beautiful Sun set. You can also witness marks of war with neighbours during 1970s nearby. Most of the resorts for stay overnight are not very good quality but there are not many options to experience a trip to Sand dunes without staying overnight as it gets really dark and not very safe for driving back to the Hotel in city. Advised to take good references while booking a place to stay and clarify what all is packaged in terms of activities which generally cost not more than INR 1200/person all inclusive except for stay. The best place should not cost more than 5000/couple. People will misguide you and there is no info available online to make a better choice probably all the tents are unauthorized. Be careful with touts.

Good”
I recently stayed at this property with my family including my 80yr old Grandfather and Grandmother. The resort is located near Kanoi village and is very easy to find with good signages. We were welcomed with welcome drinks and escorted to out tents very quickly. We chose ‘comfort tents’ which were very suffice for a night of stay, loaded with all the amenities required there. The tents are very comfortable with a sitout on the porch, a separate change area with full length mirror and cupboard, the bathroom is good. The high-tea served was average, but the dinner and breakfast were really good, huge spread during both the meals, with multiple options for everyone’s taste buds, and taste was also very good. They also serve starters on the table during the cultural entertainment which were also good. The cultural program was excellent with lineup of talented artists and we had a very fun evening. They have camel safari included in the package, where they take you on camels to a nearby sand dune for sunset, it was a very nice experience, its a 15-20 min camel ride one way, and a beautiful sunset awaits you. Although the resort is some 10kms from popular Sam Sand Dunes, the dune nearby is also very good.

Folk music awsome”
totally loved it. We drove to the sand dunes late afternoon from our hotel to watch the sun set. The drive is nice and scenic, lots of windmill farms on the way, we hired a camel cart (the guy Dilawar Khan is a pro with tourists) and that was so much fun and also comfortable that we decided to go back again the next evening and just walk in sand and sit and watch the sunset. Everything is fine but there are way too many guys who have camels and want to take you for camel rides and keep insisting that you hire them which gets overwhelming. There are also too many locals who play folk music and sing to make some money so if you want to just be, it may not be possible but its still fun. Go and experience it atleast once, you will not be disappointed.

Me nd my students lots enjoy in the sky dessert safari camp.... All facilities is very good”
We have stayed in the hotel for 5 days with 50 students of modern school, Delhi as we are here to explore Jaisalmer and its wonderful sky. We have got the best hospitality possible with one of the best tasty foods available in whole jaisalmer. My teachers has taken personal numbers of the chef to ask him about his secrets of food ingredients. One of my Students got injured in knee while running and the owner Mr Hanif rush him to nearby clinic, can you see his humble nature. Room and washroom are proper cleaned everytime you enter next day. Flawless service! Also at night we requested him to close all roof top lights to experience best sky view through telescope, he without much delay made the whole sitting and speaker arrangements for my speech with light off and small torches given for my assistance. Look even if you don't stay at this hotel his food and roof top view is must try.

Fantastic service”
a wonderful hotel with excellent staff. Mr. the manager of the hotel was well trained and provided us whatever we wanted. we were travelling with the infant, so he made sure and provided us with milk twice during our 1 night stay. Mr. and his associates kept the property neat and clean. Breakfast was excellent with varieties like Poha, upma, aloo paratha, bread jam butter, tea and coffee. The hotel arrange bonfire with rajasthani folk music and dance . u can enjoy the music with relaxing on diwan style seating and have pakoras. Rajasthani food is little spicy, so make sure to inform the hotel staff for less spicy food. dinner was also excellent and tasty. the hotel provided free camel ride for our group in the dunes. Jeep safari can be done at extra cost of rs.1500 per jeep. i recommend booking jeep safari with the hotel only as there are many touts roaming outside hotel area. i highly recommend this hotel as they serve veg food and the staff is also excellent.

Traditional welcome ”
Felt good after reaching there ...didn’t get traditional welcome but never the less rooms and washrooms were clean and evening tea snacks were also okay (can be better). Then They took us to sunset point in sand dunes, that was the perfect place to be. There also they arranged tea water not snacks, which could have been done, but the view for sunset was awesome and my daughter played there for about 1 hour, then it was getting cold in desert so we came back to camp and there we have gala dinner program. That was nicely arranged and snacks were also good drinks were available on paid basis, not too much hyped prices ...but the soft drinks should have been complimentary, the cultural program was nicely arranged with Sandhya anchor, she was also good at her job, then the program came to end after a buffet dinner and we came back to our tents, next day breakfast was also nicely arranged and staff was also courteous and served well. Highly recommend this place to especially family and group who are planning for Sam.

Let me start off by saying - This camp is in a desert and to have a good experience takes more than just quality accommodation. I am extremely happy to write this review as this is one of the best experiences I have had in a very very long time. Communication: I have called Prithvi who also owns this place, multiple times for many questions and he was more than happy to answer it. Pick up and drop from the airport was extremely smooth Check-In and Check out: It was swift Pricing: Room prices as compared with other camps are higher but you take any article that talks about Jaisalmer camps they list Sky , I paid about Rs. 18000 for 3 people. Pick Up was about Rs. 5000 one way for 35kms but it was not just pick up it included sightseeing in Jaisalmer and also a food stop. Even if I had hired a taxi it would be almost the same. Having taking taxis in multiple places i felt it was reasonable and safe. Evening Experience: Camel rides were amazing and included in the rate, they take you to the middle of the sand dune and serve you tea and biscuits. There are performers in the desert who come in while you sit, you can tip them if you like. I had asked for a Jeep Safari, contrary to many reviews about driving like madmen, it is a desert and if you don't drive fast the wheel gets stuck it happened to us when he slowed down. We paid Rs. 2500 for the experience usually its 15 minutes in any other place but we got 30 mins for the same price. It was an incredible experience. Performance: Some of my friends who traveled to other camps complained of DJ and extremely loud music. There was nothing of that sort, it was pure Rajasthani classical music and dance performance for over 2 hours, all this while serving you starts at your seat which is a nice couple seat arranged with lovely cushions and a plush blanket to save you from cold. Food: Except for the maggi which was served in breakfast, all the dishes were tasting really well, any requests we made were fulfilled almost wit
