Not recommend! Very bad experience ”
Room: NEVER consider the fan room! It’s really like oven, when I got in, it’s 35 degree, and the heat is stuck whole day in the room even at nite which really made me unable to breath, couldn’t sleep for two days. The outside temperature was at least 5 degree less then in the room. I checked out one day earlier cuz i couldn’t stand anymore. The water in the pool also very hot like hot spring which makes you don’t want stay in the water. Staff: rude staffs, unexpected things happened many times, this hotel really lack a good management team to manage it properly especially staffs’ training. Unwelcome posts everywhere: there are totally 6 posts in the room to tell guests DONT to this, don’t do that otherwise you will be fined.... Would really recommend spend same money to stay at the beach front hotels. Malapascua is a beautiful island, however, I made wrong decision to stay here!
Nice and clean resort.”
Nice and clean rooms. Facilities very convenient. The only low point is the loud music in the neighbourhood. It doesn’t let you rest or get some sleep, it’s very annoying as it plays till very late in the morning.
Great rom. Clean pool. Bad Wifi.”
Very nice place. Little boring with all "forbidden" sign. But its nothing to think about. Pool is great. Wifi is bad. But its the same all over the island. Little bit över prized in the restaurang. All and all tid a great place to stay. 8 of 10
More than Very satisfied ”
I like the food of the hotel, the accommodation, the service and staffs are very friendly specially lyn, but all of them are very accommodating including the owner is very polite. I could say that the experience in staying in this place during my vacation is unforgettable! I would like to go back and stay longer!
Good place to stay in Malapascua. Restaurant with really cheap drinks during happy hour from 4 to 7 pm. Resort staff managed all our trips around island.
Great place to stay and relax”
Slams is a very nice place to stay. We don’t dive so we were on the island to take the tour of Kalanggaman Island. We stayed at Slams for 3 nights and loved it. The pool gives it a true resort feeling and the place itself is new and updated. I would stay there again and would certainly recommend it to others. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and the food at the restaurant was great. Their happy hour drinks were killers. We both loved their Long Island Iced Tea.
I love Slam’s pool. Very nice to hang out there after diving. Tap water is bit salty but here’s an small island. Reception is helpful. And dive shop newly opened! Room has slight odor from the sewer but it’s okay.
Decent resort, lovely staff”
The resort is ok, the room is spacious and clean, the bed is comfortable and the breakfast was good too. But in terms of value for money, the resort is not doing that well. For $45 a night one would expect way better and anywhere else in Southeast Asia, would get better. Although, accommodations being overpriced in the Philippines is not uncommon, the resort should not price its rooms in this range or significantly improve its services and/ or update its facilities. Other than the value for money aspect, we had a lovely stay, we felt we were looked after and for those who are not price sensitive, we would recommend the resort.
a great place on the island”
A relaxing place with a nice pool, comfortable spacious rooms and very friendly and helpful staff - good choice to come here. Take it with humor that the owner is very fond of plastering the whole place with countless notifications about do's and don'ts. The dive shop of the resort - Ocean Passion - has just been opened up. Although the main part of it is still under construction the first steps towards giving customers a good dive experience make you keen to come back.
It is a kingdom of rules and penalties”
The hotel is very clean, good maintained, nice pool and overall is good. However, there are so many signs everywhere what you cannot do and how much you will charged if you do not follow the rules that is ridiculous and makes you feel uncomfortable. You have to sign a list of like 10 rules to follow during check in, then there is like 6-7 big signs by the pool explaining what to do (3-4 signs, don’t through cigarette butts, big list of pool rules, wash your feed sign etc). In your room you will find another 3 lists of rules with penalties up to 5000 pesos. If you go to restaurant there you will find signs everywhere that you have to pay 500 pesos in case you bring your own bottle of alcohol and just in case you might miss it, here you go, there is one more sign on every table. In addition there is another list of rules on same tables - for example you cannot sit there after 10 pm (that is the only place you get wifi). It is just funny :)) What we did not like: - salty water in shower; - rooms are impossible to stay only with the fan, you have to upgrade to AC (800 pesos per day). Actually all rooms have AC, but it will not work unless you pay 800, so take in account that price is actually higher that Agoda shows; - they have buy 1 get 1 free hours, but yes, there is a trick. Prices are different during these hours, so you actually not getting 1 free :))))
Cozy Place, Great for Divers”
Stayed here for 3 nights while we did some diving. Breakfast was great and service was speedy despite what some reviews said. Rooms were clean, and staff cleaned the rooms each day and changed our towels. If you're going to Malapascua to dive, don't hesitate to stay at this resort. A short walk away are also some great Thai and Italian restaurants.
This resort is very new I was told it’s only been open for 2 months the time when I was there (January,2019) though it was still under construction, they managed to keep the area fairly clean. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Travel from Cebu international airport to this resort took us about 4hours road trip and 40mins boat trip. Resort offer private pick up from airport cost PHP4500. if you are adventurous enough, there is local buses with no aircon for PHP100 plus boat PHP100. At the ferry terminal, there always have 12 seat vans waiting to collect travelers back to Cebu city for PHP250. But be warned, they will pick up some locals along the way. We started with 12 people ended up have 18 in the van.
made my trip!!”
I went to malapascua for my birthday and arrived quite late on the first day and so I was very tired and anxious about accommodation being substandard. was very very very pleased with my room. no complaints whatsoever save for that I wish wifi was available in the room. it's only available in the restaurant/Common area. and I wish there was no charge to refill my water bottle. other than that the room is great, the staff is excellent, and the food delicious. thank you so much slams for everything! also don't get the fan room. get the room with AC cause it comes with breakfast!! oh and it's not beachfront but don't let that stop you because the beach is a short walk away and the pool is amazing!
Located close to the beachfront. Rooms were large and spacious, and the pool was great for chilling off in the afternoon.
Just the internet :)
Perfect and awesome staff ;)”
One thing that stands out to me is the hotel's staff. They are very welcoming and approachable. The property is not a beach front but I don't mind walking (just a 5-minute walk to the beach). The hotel has a pool and it looks clean and well maintained. Their complimentary breakfast is also good. My family and I had a wonderful time at this property. This property is strongly recommended. ***note ( payment was collected by the property upon check-in. It seems that my Agoda booking has been confirmed through Booking.com. If you are going to pay using a credit card, the hotel collects 5% processing fee)
The best place in Malapascua”
In this place you will be in the Paradise!! It’s close to the lovely beach (1mn walking distance) and the staff are very friendly and helpfully ! They will recommend you all places on the island. The room is spacious and very clean, the housekeeping come every day, not like others places...The pool front your room is amazing !! Delicious breakfast always served with a smile! I will come back at this place! Thank you for your great job!!
good stay ”
Quite good although restaurant is not great and pricey. They don't offer filtered water for free as many basic accommodations do. The owner advertises Wi-Fi in rooms which is not true and only available in the common. Pool is well maintained. Twin room was rather small.
Great but affordable resort (a plus: beside Globe's cellsite)”
Loved everything about Slam's. If I'd have to say something that didn't score a 10, it would be that it's not beachfront -- however, aside from that, everything was great. Super clean and comfortable rooms, nice pool, and friendly and accommodating staff. It's also a short walk away from two of the most famous restaurants in Malapascua: Angelina's and Amihan. Highly recommend staying here if you don't mind not being at the beach front - it's just a short walk anyway.
I could not put up with rooster crowing all night plus the walk to the beach”
This is a hard review for me to give as the staff and facilities are both excellent. However the house next door raises roosters that crow all night. I changed hotels to Ocean Vida because it is next to Sea Explores a great dive company. Yes my 5 night stay did cost me $120 more but the it was well worth the investment. However I did like the service from Slams
