Convenient location for us”
The staff was super helpful, rooms clean and convinient location if you are planning to take any ferry. we were taking the ferry to korea early in themorning, therefore, the location was great. it would take you about 20 minutes to walk to Tenjin area from here.
Value for money”
Friendly stuff, good location, value for money
We stayed here because we got apointment in Fukuoka. It is a bit far from the station but if you do not have luggage it would not be the problem. There is super delicious Indian resturant about 8 mins walk from the hotel!!
Cheap, clean, and near the subway”
It's a decent budget hotel, the rooms are small but clean, everything worked and the staff were helpful (although they have limited English). It's near a subway station and close to bus stops too, and there is an excellent Indian restaurant nearby.
Smart choice for the Water Front”
Great quiet location. Easy to navigate around the Ocean Front area of Fukuoka. Breakfast was amazing..!!
Room I stayed was quite small but clean. What do you expect for that reasonable room rate? Staff were so helpful to direct me to restaurants and site seeing attractions. Location is convenience to Hakata Ferry Terminal (15 minutes walking distance) and Kawabata Walking District (20 minutes walking distance). Hotel provided free Wifi, small refrigerator and TV (just regular facilities). At last, it may be a concern if you are non-smoker, as hotel offers smoking room!
Decent location, helpful staff, small/comfortable”
one night stay while visiting friends at kyushu university. smile hotel was conveniently located <10min from subway and kawabata, 15-20min walking from hakata station and canal city. this isn't "right in the heart of it all," ie in tenjin or right at hakata station, but you are close to some restaurants, combinis, fukuoka asian art museum, noh theater, and can be on bus/subway in under 10 minutes providing access to the whole city. the location would be great for watching yamakasa in the summer. the unit bath is small but functional, the beds had comfortable matresses, linens, and nice buckwheat/bead pillows. the room was quite small, but comfortable. two separate beds, price, and convenient location were what attracted me and i was satisfied. front desk staff were helpful with maps, directions, and restaurant recommendations. room included water boiler, tea, tv, robes, small fridge, and a big digital alarm clock radio built into the wall.
Close to ferry port”
The hotel is ideal if you have an early/late ferry ride since it's very close to the station. A 10 minute walk will also take you to a street with a lot of restaurants and a nice park. Our first room smelled of horrible smoke but when i asked the reception if they could move us, they cheerfully put us into a simple, clean and great smelling room. Staff were very helpful and spoke excellent english.
Good value for money”
Hotel staff were friendly and willing to help. However, English level is not high. No better choice for breakfast, just 2 types (JapanesE or Western). Not enough manpower at restaurant, need to ask for drinks (coffee & tea)though cups were around but no tea/coffee pot ! Check out MUST be at 10am and no point to ask for further extension (very straight) though I put my request when making the booking. Car park is a bit high when compare with other coin parking with JPY 1000/400 for an overnight respectively. It was a smoking room with a very stronge smell though I have requested for a non-smoking when made the booking.
Cute hotel, good location”
The hotel is close to the international ferry terminal, so it was great for us, since we arrived to Japan from Busan, Korea. Anyone planning on a side trip to Korea might consider this. It wouldnt be too far of a walk to downtown Hakata, but we had bikes so it was a breeze. The rooms are small, and bathrooms even smaller, but this aint `merica and I feel like it is part of the experience. Cheapest price for a hotel in Japan that Ive found.
Service with a smile”
Front desk was very nice spoke English. The rooms were smally but clean and comfortable beds. Even the maid was friendly and very nice. Great place for breakfast down the street next to the pachinko palor. Also a family mart where you can get all kinds of foods and refreshments. Would stay there again price was very affordable
I had for my money”
The room are clean, but a little bit small. The staff is really kind. The bathroom is to small, only one person can stand inside.
It was a quiet pleasant stay with attentive and friendly staff. The hotel was quite far from the station and is a budget hotel so don't expect the rooms to be fancy and new. Glad it did have wifi. Overall not a bad stay but would probably stay elsewhere next time.
no complaint if just for a room to sleep”
Though the room is small, but it's compact and have all the basic services you need for spending the night. Quiet, self-contained, with the very competitive price, I don't believe there is any other better alternative
You Get What you Pay for”
This hotel was disappointing. We reserved a non-smoking room over a month before arriving but were put in a smoking room. It smell awful and the room was so small, it felt stuffy. It was hard to breath. Also, late at night many of the others staying in the hotel were very noisy. My wake up call was five minutes late.
Nice staff in smile.”
Nice to loacated in near Tenjin. U can go on foot. And i have some happenings. I booked mistake so i asked for them. Can i change my booking?? They were accept my propose. So i satisfied this hotel. Cuz i didnt extra fee. But smoking are, u can feel smoking smell in the floor.
Cosy hotel with friendly staff”
Upon entering the hotel I was warmly greeted by staff. The friendly manner of the staff was always present throughout my stay. All staff were able to communicate in English and assist with any questions I had about Fukuoka.
Small but simple rooms.”
Overall this was a simple and pleasant place to stay. It’s about a 5-10 minute walk to the nearest shopping center and major attractions. Near by the shopping center there are two attractions that are great to see and attend. The Fukuoka Asian Art Museum with its incredible art is one great site to see. Just across the street is a live arts theater. Fantastic!
The front desk workers were pleasant even with limited English. The hotel is situated right in the middle between the subway stop and Hakata Bay, so quite convenient. The double room was a nice size. The hotel should provide a better map though of the location of the hotel since it's hard to find when first arriving
Not bad, really -- the staff was very friendly and helpful and their English level was good. The place wasn't hard to get to, had a good location somewhat near to the port, and was very affordable on a last minute basis. However, you do sorta get what you pay for -- the rooms were claustrophobically tiny, in dire need of updating, and anxiety-inducingly dirty. If you're low on cash and need somewhere to crash for one night, it's not your worst option for sure.
