We felt very welcome”
We have never stayed in this location in Bangkok before so we thought we would give it a go. Its not too far from the river, and pretty close to Khaosan Road. My wife was overjoyed because Bobae clothes market is 200 metres away! The staff were lovely and the rooms clean. I slept very well and the aircon was good. We were rather sorry to leave. My favourite bit was the canal we could see from our window, a real window into old Bangkok.
Value for money. ”
There is no cable tv, as stated, unless you like 100 Thai shopping channels. Some rooms the shower water heater is broken - cold water only. The kitchenette in the standard double is just a kitchen sink and tap, nothing more. The WiFi is poor and you need to reconnect constantly. Apart from that excellent. Good staff, clean, attractive, fairly quiet, modern, good beds and great location.
Its a nice stay there, quiet area , 2 boat stops aewy from the shopping area”
Its a nice stay there, quiet area , 2 boat stops aewy from the shopping area. Rooms are good, good sleep, wifi ok, clean, good price.
Convenient,cost effective, quiet ”
I live in Bangkok. I stay here whenever I work on Krung Kasem road, and miss the traffic. I park at the worksite and walk here. Facilities are excellent for the price, always super clean, and the wifi is fast enough to binge watch Netflix.
Friendly and hardworking staff, authentic China Town ambience and comfortable value-for-money room.”
I had just stayed from 24 Oct to 29 Oct 2017. My experience is great, comparing to my seven other visits to different hotels in Bangkok. Next to the hotel is the famous canal that residents of Bangkok can take a motorised gondola to office/ shopping. Bus stops are nearby too, just 2 minutes' walk and from there a bus ride to mass rapid train BTS is only 5 mins. Famous Golden Mount Temple, Great Swing, Democracy monument and other landmarks and Khaosan Road are 10 -20 minutes walk, saving your transport cost and time. Staff gave valuable advise and assistance , my questions are always suitably answered. Kitchen / fridge are very helpful !!
Pleasant and Clean”
I stayed here one night while working at a site nearby. The rooms are clean, and large for the price range. I live in Bangkok and often get a room near worksites for big jobs so I have a pretty good idea what a room in this range should look like. I did not explore the facilities, as I had to get back to work, but the internet worked flawlessly. Only caveat: get a street side room if you're a light sleeper, the commuter boats start running on the canal behind the hotel at 6 am.
Good location”
Good view
Great value for money”
I tend to stay in this hotel each time I visit Bangkok due to its location and value for money. Staff is always very friendly and the hotel itself clean and within easy reach of local attractions.
River view and good quiet position. Good value!”
Some rooms are bigger than others. We got a comer room with lots of eindows and it’s wonderful.
Tidy cozy rooms, excellent staff.”
I have nothing to complain except its quite far from BTS.
Great place to stay!”
Close to Bo Be market great for clothing good local food stalls around and close to the boat dock so you can get about town quickly. Can be a bit out of the way from a few tourist spots but I enjoyed the quiet. Definitely will stay here again.
Clean, Comfortable, a pleasant stay.. ”
Was great accommodation.. the rooms are well equipped, they are clean and comfortable. It is 20 minutes walk away- from china town and Kosan Road- Which isnt really a problem if you are blessed with clear sky.. But the water taxi is just 5 minutes doen the road- and within 3 stops and a short walk you will be close to Siam.. I enjoyed my stay and efinitly will be back.
Staff performance wise, could be better.”
Suprisingly valued for money, clean room. The female receptionists are kinda helpful. The legendary fat guy with spec everyone mentioned in their reviews will just avoid eye contact with you, he is like a business owner or manager there, but don't even bother talk to the guests. I can understand maybe his english is poor but at least you should smile with your guests dude. Location wise, a little bit far from attractions.
Great value”
Rooms were very comfortable, with AC, big beds, toilets that work, and abundant hot water. Our room only had a few glass blocks (no windows), but the decor was so bright, we didn't really miss the windows (and it cut out a lot of the traffic noise). The Inn backs up directly onto one of the canals, and has a nice, open-air lounge space where you can relax and watch the boat traffic and Bangkok canal life go on right outside.
Nice room with good price”
Room is clear n good spacing. But hard to get there. All taxi driver don't know where is guesthouse even u show them the guesthouse's card with map. Abit far from khao San road. But it's quiet at night that u can sleep well. Nice staff. i stay for 9 nights and I'll come back again.
Good location and excellent standard rooms”
Very nice budget hotel. Very impressed with cleanliness and the room features given the price. The location is close to the Phanfa pier and 10min walk to Bobae market, so convenient for shopping, esp. if you choose to take the water taxi. Also walkable distance to Chinatown.
Nice room but not much else!”
If all you're after is a place to rest your head then Smile Inn is perfect and it has a good location away from the hustle and bustle but still within walking distance. However, other than a beautifully done up room the place didn't have much else to offer. The man on front desk was miserable and unhelpful and there's no where you can buy and food.
Calm within good location”
first timers in bangkok, we opted for a 4 nights stay at smile inn and ended up staying 8 nights. the hotel is located within 30 minutes walk to pretty much every main interest point in central bangkok without all the noise you find everywhere else. this is a cosy hotel with friendly staff with all the facilities we needed, including reliable wifi and laundry. as well, the place is pretty safe, clean and pretty much renovated. i would recommend you to print out the directions map for the taxi driver or simply note the phone number for him to call the hotel. it'll save you time and hassle.
Big hotel with empty warmness”
I actually booked 2 person because wasn't sure whether my dad could make it to the trip. On first day of arrival, I told the receptionist that I had one more person for the room. It was alright that he actually added extra charges for us. However, he charged us an extra of 5200 baht for a night which is totally nonsense. I just paid since we already made it here after we asked so many people about the hotel and finally found it. I felt that he purposely scammed us because we are foreigners. As you know, a normal hotel would only charge at most 3000 baht and certainly not more than that. As I gave him bigger note, he paid back me an amount of lesser than it supposed to be. Luckily, he gave me back the amount that he gave less to me after I got down from my room to the counter. The location is quite hard to find because it was at one of the long row of shop houses even though it has been renovated. The air conditioner was really bad as no matter how low I set the temperature, we still felt very warm inside the room. Thank God there are windows at the room and we opened the windows at night when we slept.
very hard to find it but tiny and clean”
for all the taxi driver, it's really hard to find it. forturnately, they are patient and try their best to help you. the room is clean and well decrated except for no windown. bread and butter is the only choice for breakfast, even with no milk served.
