Great experience and GREAT VALUE”
We stayed at Smiley backpackers hostel for 3 nights looking for an affordable place to stay in Dalat and were pleasantly surprised. We had a twin room on the fourth floor, and there is no elevator, but that was ok once wet saw the room. It was very simple, but it had a hot shower, two comfortable beds with nice warm covers, very spacious, and a surprisingly great view! it is situated at the top of a hill (like everything else on Dalat) facing down to the "downtown" area. You could see the sun rising in the morning, and the sun seeing on the other side in the evening giving great views of the older buildings and the mountains in the background. The people working there also make the experience a memorable one. Hinh, will almost always be sitting down up front welcoming anyone coming in and inviting them to join him for a beer or snack or whatever he may be doing at the time. they are all very friendly, can give you good advice about the town, and take pride in their jobs as they always were cleaning and tidying up the place. They also offer tour packages for very good prices, in fact we did a three day "easy-rider" motorbike tour of the central highlands with Hinh that was easily the highlight of our trip! Highly recommended to go for a ride with or alongside Hinh if you want a real taste of life in Vietnam and it's natural beauty!

Exceptional”
This hostel is really good: cheap, good atmosphere, clean, and in the center. People who work here are so helpfull and Yen so kind! Room are clean with a very big window where you can have a great view of Dalat! Breakfast is good!

We were lucky and had a room in the highest level, very good view! Room is big with big windows. No window in the bathroom. Location is good, a very cheap restaurant next to the hostel with good food. We rented a motorbike to discover dalat and the countryside. Lovely staff, would come again

Couriers are never cheap especially when they are sent 5 hours by moto in Vietnam. Smiley backpackers went so far beyond expectations when we forgot our passports. We were on a 5 hour bus to nha trang with connection to an overnight bus. We realized in nha trang our passports were sadly still in DA lat. We had a really enjoyable stay here. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. It really felt like it mattered to them that you had a good time in Dalat. The wifi was really good too. We had a brilliant time in Dalat and wish we had stayed here longer

Excellent”
Room is spacious, hot water for shower is fantastic in cold weather. Furnishing is worn and tired but for the room rate, this is acceptable. No TV in some room if you are fuss (we don't watch tv so no issue for us), no kettle and fridge too. We have no issue walking up 4 floors thus stayed on the highest floor and love the view. Peaceful and quiet at night. Wifi strength is very good. The family owners are very friendly and don't bug you to book tour. The very polite staff who cooked us breakfast makes delicious omelette. Breakfast is baguette with a choice of eggs, jam or cheese. Noodles with egg is available too. Choice of Vietnamese coffee or tea. The black coffee is really good! Room is cleaned daily. Dalat market is just 10 minutes walk and lake about 15 minutes walk. No construction around so its quiet; just a bit of noise of traffic during the day.

Ok room with good breakfast”
Our room was on the top floor (no lift) which was a bit annoying but the view made up for it. Room was basic but spacious. No fan of a/c, but they weren't needed with the Dalat climate and window open. Breakfast was one of the best 'breakfast included's we've had and location is good.

Good stay in Dalat ”
Staff here are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good if a bit greasy. The dorm room was large and comfortable but I wasn't convinced how clean the bedclothes were. Take a sheet bag! Shower very good. A bit noisey in the morning from traffic but that's typical of Vietnam. Overall highly recommendable in Dalat.

Nice place - good breakfast”
I stayed here for 2 nights and the breakfast was good, the staff were friendly and helpful although the man didn't speak English. The hostel is not so near to where you ideally want to be but the bus dropped me off and picked me up from there so I had no complaints. The room I was in did have a strange configuration of beds which I wasn't happy about and meant someone slept above me and the beds were not sturdy enough.

The hostel was easy to find and centrally located. They also had tours around Da Lat and for Canyoning! My only problem with the hostel is that the beds are quite hard.

Good value for money”
Location is great, they have breakfasts, laundry, wi fi, cold beers, whatever you need. Disadvantages - I faces only two: they don't allow to bring guests into your room, even if you have your private double. And private rooms are on 4-5 floor without elevator. But it general it's a nice place for travellers to stay.

Employees make this place”
The people who work here are nothing but friendly and helpful, the owner included. If you needed anything they would help you with a smile quickly and efficiently. The location of it is pretty damn good, but I like walking. For others it might be a fair amount and in that case just rent a motorbike from them because they have plenty. Breakfast was included every morning, it's satisfactory but nothing to brag about there. Like I said, it's the people working here who make it.

Mediocre hostel Dishonest staff”
The hostel is nothing special. The beds are uncomfortable and the rooms don't seem to be too thoroughly cleaned between stays. Not much better or worse than most budget places Iv stayed in. But I was very displeased with the fact that we bought bus tickets to mui ne from the staff and they overcharged us. The next day we were sitting next to another group that was booking a tour through the hostel and we heard the staff tell them 3 times that the prices were lower than what they told us for the same bus. When I confronted them about it they just laughed and walked away. Pretty rude. At least have the decency to try to be discreet about the fact that you ripped us off.

Great breakfast, sweetest staff and close to everything you need, they also rent scooters and do tours. They have big warm blankets, too! I am always cold but not this time. :)
