PARKROYAL YangonDagon,Dagon - View on map
"I have recently come back from Burma after visit family there and we decided to spend a couple of night in a hotel so that we could see Burma for ourselves. The ParkRoyal was a wonderful experience, I have a Spa and visited all the buffet choices, the international Buffet, Chinese Buffet and The Japanese Buffet which was my favorite. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the Hotel was walking distance from Markets and the Shwe Dagon Pagoda, if you can't walk in the heat then a taxi ride was only 2000 kyat pretty much anywhere from the hotel. I will definately go again, Thanks Agoda!!"

The RGN City LodgeDagon,Dagon - View on map
"This is the best hotel in downtown Yangon. Excellent breakfast buffet, room cleaniness with nice AC and a hot shower and a good toilet with a plenty of toilet papers, friendly hotel staff, and excellent location, includes two blocks to the beautiful city mall that has a good Pizza Hut. If I return to Yangon, I will stay this hotel again."

"There was only one set of towels even though I booked for two people. For some reason the floor got wet in the evening maybe because my room was warm and the room under was very cold?"
Summit Parkview HotelDagon,Dagon - View on map
"Summit Parkview is located within walking distance to Shwe Dagon Pagoda. I have a breathtaking view of Shwe Dagon from my room on the 6th floor. Breakfast buffet was also very good. The staff were friendly and very helpful. My family and I enjoyed our stay at Summit Parkview and will definitely stay there again."
Rangoon Boutique HouseDagon,Dagon - View on map
"I just had one night in Yangon and found this place. Walked to it from the Thai consulate. After settling in and having a short nap, I explored the city and found the Rangoon Boutique to be excellently located 5 minutes walk from the Main Train Station and from the City Center and shops. It had a shared bathroom, but that was fine, both toilet and shower facilities were good and clean. I had a private room and the only little downside was a very thin wall to a constantly talking woman on the phone all the time. It didn't bother my sleeping but second morning relaxing was a little disturbed. It had breakfast which I didn't know about, so a couple of egg sandwiches, was a good start to the day. The hotel is also trying to be environmentally friendly, so had free water refilling. Thanks very much for that. I would definitely stay here again if heading back to Yangon. "
Governor's Residence, A Belmond Hotel, YangonDagon,Dagon - View on map
"Governors residence What can you say? This hotel offers old world charm with a very "boutique" feel to it. Yes there are more modern establishments in town with larger pools, lots of marble and mirrors in the lobby but, if you want excellent service and a great, understated colonial style retreat in the city then you have to go quite a distance to beat this. The main body of the hotel which incorporates the restaurants, shops and bars has been tastefully formed from the original governors house that was built in the 1920's. The gardens and ponds surrounding the property are incredibly lush and even have a resident pair of peacocks. The pool area is quiet and provides an excellent respite from the city. The rooms are housed in more modern blocks to the rear of the original building but have been seamlessly grafted on and feel as though they have always been there. An earlier reviewer mentioned that neighbours could be heard, which is true but the same can be said for any hotel and I can honestly say that it never became an issue for us. We dined at both restaurants and the food and service was excellent in both. A special mention has to be made of the buffet-style curry table, a must for any curry lover with a choice of around 10 different curries as well as a grill station serving prawns and assorted satays accompanied by unlimited draught beer and soft drinks! When you consider that the room rate includes without a doubt the best breakfast buffet in town and complimentary minibar it's no surprise that this hotel remains consistently the best place to stay in Yangon. Try it, you won't be disappointed! "
