Above average”
One of the things that I did not realize is that there is no lift - that was difficult for me as I had a room at almost the topmost floor. So that meant a huge luggage coming from Asia having to be lugged all the way up! The booking that I made was for a 24 sqm room and which also in the AGODA website showed such a room so I booked the room that was depicted. I am not sure who was being dishonest - the AGODA website or the Hotel who could have given those photos to entice customers to the hotel but it was a disappointment when I was told otherwise. So when I received my keys to the 1st room what a disaster a 9 sqm room instead of a 24 sqm room as suggested and as reflected in pics on the website!!!! Worse as yet I discovered the room I got was a 9 sqm with no toilet but a shower was included. So for relieving myself I needed to go outside my room and then for shower I could do it in the room??? What was the logic of that and why would I book such a room??? I booked a room with every amenity within the private confines of a room. So I naturally took this up with the reception and he could not help and no manager was there to attend to my case. Eventually I called AGODA and spent SGD 60 talking to someone on the phone who tried her best to help but the BEST that was done was that the reception would be moving me to a 12 sqm room with a enclosed shower and toilet and it was really a take-it-or-leave-it situation - so I took it and WORSE THING POSSIBLE - it was considered an "UPGRADE" so even though I paid already a lot of money I was told I needed to cough up a total of 60 pounds more (20 pounds each night) to "UPGRADE" to the room...what a joke!! I was disappointed but because I was tired and almost 3h spent wasting my precious holiday time I conceded. AGODA advised that I would be paid 60 pounds back but I have not actually written in to them. So anyway my conclusion is that I don't think SO Paddington should even be 3 stars. I rate it a no star hotel. The only

Wrost, and poor hotel experience ”
I have been to many bad hotels, but this would be the worst hotel I have ever been. 1- smelled bed and as if for smoking rooms. (Although I took a family non-smoking room) 2- basement room is definitely too load where you can't sleep. 3- window is not well sealed properly. 4- heaters are not working. 5- very old type of hotel compared with the prize of the rooms. It is total waste of money going to such hotel.

Location & value for money”
The hotel is located near to Paddington train station. There are lots of eatery and small shops for shopping around the area. The rooms appeared old but were satisfactory. A bit tight for 2 persons to move around though. There were heating in the rooms and we appreciated it for it was quite cold at night. I would say the basic needs of a traveler would have been met.

Don't be fouled by pictures online - very small, basic rooms nothing like pictures ”
Finished I got a room under the roof, no elevator a lot of stairs very small room. No table O space in the room finished I got a room under the roof, no elevator a lot of stairs very small room. No table O space in the room at all. Then I got a the room in the basement, freezing cold no heating, you can fall asleep with the sound of the pigeons. Nowhere to even hang a towel up in small basic shower. In the evening cold water only in sink. The staff are very friendly and the location great but that's it. Too expensive for what you get.

Good location, ok for light traveler”
Very good location as it is very near to the underground, having numbers of restaurants nearby as well. Staff was very helpful, and willing to prepare the breakfast earlier for us (we took a tour which required us to depart before 8am) (breakfast normally served starting from 8am). The room is tiny, and very different from the picture in the web. It contains bathroom (very tiny) and toilet is shared right outside of the room. There is no safe in the room. Rooms are not sound proof, so you might hear noises from outside the building, at the stairs, as well as from the room above. Kindly note that there is no lift in the hotel, if you have huge luggage with you, this hotel might not be a good choice. My friend who was staying in another room found bugs on the bed. Overall, this is a good and decent hotel for light traveler.
