The hotel was very clean, and the staff was courteous and unobtrusive, and attentive whenever we needed to interact with them. The room was unbelievably nice and organized and had everything you could think about needing for the stay. I'd definitely recommend this if you're looking for a grand experience and stay.

Such a tranquil oasis in the middle of busy Manhattan. Rooms so very quiet. Service really good and very clean rooms. The best bit is the comfort of the beds and pillows, a wonderful nights sleep.

Great place in Manhattan”
Great and spacious (bath)room with a good bed, lovely staff, excellent location near Time Square. The rooms are soundproof too. After our check-in we noticed one bathrobe and one pair of slippers. We just had to ask the staff and everything got delivered a couple of moments later. Too bad Agoda promised 2 bottles of water a day (per person) when I booked the hotel, but during our stay the staff couldn’t find it in the system. But overall, a great place to stay according to us. Thank you Sofitel and staff!

The hotel is in a great location, closed to Times Square. The room is fine but the staff are not very helpful. It is rather expensive but probably due to the holiday season.

Really good location, but..”
We loved the location, but the hotel itself is showing signs of age. The staff were friendly but really failed to deliver adequate service. I'm genuinely surprised that this property is 5 star... It's easily a 4 star, and that's a good thing. But I expect a lot better from a 5 star property - especially a Sofitel!

Receptionist/Lobby Staff so rude”
Mr. Pierre of the reception/lobby clerk at Sofitel new York is so rude to clients/guests. He shouted at me and didn't accommodate my request via phone. I reported him immediately to his supervisor/manager I don't know how they handled him. It's not right to be so rude to guests. People like him should be fired or not work in a hotel where you should be accommodating/kund to guest. I will not recommend this place

A little bit of comfort in a big city!!”
This is our second stay at the Sofitel New York and it was just as good as the first time we stayed there. I would recommend the hotel to individuals and families. The location is perfect for shoppers and close to all major attractions i.e. Theatre and Times Square. It will be my first choice when we return to New York.

Exceptional”
It located between 5th and broadway. Very convenient. The hotel has been renovated, different from lots of the hotels in New York which are pretty old. Pretty comfortable staying there. The price is reasonable and I would recommend anyone looking for convenient and reasonable price hotel.

This was my first time at NY Sofitel and I absolutely loved it. I would definitely stay there again. The hotel has a wonderful feel and everyone is very nice and helpful. It was a wonderful time thanks to Sofitel.

Holiday stay in the city a little underwhelming ”
Had high expectations based on the research I did prior to selecting the Sofitel NY for our Christmas holiday stay in NYC, and the money I shelled out. The positives: great location between Rockefeller Center, Times Square, and Grand Central Station; OK service; clean room; free WiFi; concierge Jeffrey. The negatives: small room, a bit aged, and lousy view from high floor; super slow elevators that tend to stop on every other floor going down without any people getting on; and $5 bottles of Evian on the bill because there was no complimentary bottled water in the room, even though we were certain the check-in attendant told us there was (regrettably I paid the charge when we checked out because I didn’t have time to argue). I don’t feel like the value was up to the price I paid for the room. Maybe that’s the NYC holiday market, but there were plenty of Hilton hotels available in the area at two-thirds the price. I’d try one of those next time.

Sofitel is close to Times Square, few minutes walk to Central Park and surrounded by numerous cafes, restaurants and bars. It's is also walking distance to the Subway. Definitely coming back. Great stay!

Luxury at the Sofitel”
Having stayed in Sofitel hotels in Europe, chose this hotel on that expected standard and it did not disappoint. Understated elegance in the public rooms, bedrooms of a good size and bed very comfortable. Bathroom well equipped with separate shower. Excellent views from higher floors. Very central location, off Fifth Avenue and down from Times Square. Free internet in the lobby.

Great location with a little French flair”
I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. I do find it bizarre however that at Sofitel hotels the world over they insist that everyone says bonjour whether they speak French or not. It is quite disconcerting. Whilst it is charming to hear bonjour from a French speaker, when Chinese maid says bonjour its doesn't quite have the same appeal. Here, I don't think I encountered a single French speaker. The food was good but the restaurant and bar doesn't have much charm in the evening. Music and lighting could improve this dramatically (a few candles perhaps if elf and safety will permit it). I would like to say that the staff were charming as I was genuinely quite excited to be staying in the hotel. However, the concierge was pretty grumpy and could have done with a stint at charm school. All in all however this is a good pick for visitors to the Big Apple and certainly better than many NYC hotels I have stayed in.

A French Feel”
This was a repeat visit,and again we were more than satisfied. We were greeted in French and given an early check-in. Also we were given an upgrade. Our stay was more than comfortable; it was luxurious. The lobby, the restaurant, the bar and the access to 44th and 45th streets were all perks that will guarantee our return to the Sofitel in the hopefully not to distant future.

Potentially a home away from home”
I would return to this hotel, but I wish they'd improve on some of standard 4-5 star services/amenities. It is businesslike but it offers thoughtful amenities such as a large room and L'occitane toiletries. I wish though that the management reminds their housekeepers to be more gentle and caring because they don't replenish all the amenities such as the shower cap. The shampoo and shower gel were already 1/4 their bottle content before being replaced. Without waiting for the guest to answer, they quickly opened the door just right after knocking. Practically all 4-5star hotels I've stayed at provide free wifi or high speed internet access in the rooms or wifi in designated areas. This one surprisingly doesn't.
