Beautiful town, amazing place to visit.”

Amazing staff Amazing bed Fantastic Executive Room

After braving the Millennium hotel and the awful Rydges hotel we checked into this hotel on the last night of our stay. A total breath of fresh air. The team greeted us at the door and nothing was too much effort, bags were whisked away, hotel staff communicating via ear pieces to make sure the room was all ready and a cup of tea offered whilst they made the final checks. We booked a room on the Executive floor and we were given an exceptional room (612) with two balconies looking out onto the stunning mountain scenery. I can honestly say the staff could not have done more. Recognising us when ever we walked through the lobby and taking a genuine interest into how our plans had worked out. Great change to the Rydges who after 5 days of staying there was as agnostic to who we were on the day we arrived. I had also pre, ordered a birthday cake for our arrival and the biggest best cake I could have imagined was delivered to our room as promised. The lady who had kindly organised it all even came and said goodbye to us when we checked out and wanted to know if we liked the cake. Yes the Sofitel is not the cheapest but with the comfiest bed in Queenstown, beautiful rooms, amazing bath and showers, superb staff, I would not stay anywhere else. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

      Great hotel, central location”

      Great rooms, friendly staff

We had a fantastic stay at the Sofitel Queenstown. Centrally located in Queenstown, close to all the shops, restaurants and night-spots. Queenstown has amazing food - Flame restaurant, Fergburgers and the top-notch Botswana Butchery restaurant (expensive, but well worth it! Especially if you can get a private room-for-two). Queenstown is also located close to the Remarkables ski area and other attractions.

Luxury at the south of the world”

Comfortable bed, excellent service, heated bathroom floor

We had a fantastic stay at the Sofitel Queenstown, arriving there after 8 days driving from the north of New Zealand to the south. As we had stayed in various motels along the way, it was good to finally return to five star luxury accommodation. The Sofitel had everything we were looking for - luxuriously comfortable bed, modern design and lighting, and a great location in the centre of the town!

Our room was fantastic, had all the amenities you could ask for! Heated flooring in bathroom, big spa bath with tv in the bathroom, big soft luxurious bed and a big tv to relax and watch! Balcony and nespresso machine were great additions. I used the gym every day, had a great variety there. Didn't get to use the spa as it was so expensive but it looked great! Would definitely stay again when returning to Queenstown.

Cost, Quality of room, Central to town

Our stay was spectacular. The rooms are very luxurious and they have thought of every detail down to tooth brush and tooth paste. The hotel is central to all the activities in Queenstown and the check out at 11am was a bonus. Will definitely be back! First class.

A luxurious nest in the midst of paradise”

Located within walking distnce of everythin, superb dedicated service, luxurious nest.

Listen, this lush accommodation in this wondrous setting is enough to make a poet out of this pauper! Stayed here with my spouse for 4 nights during the start of the NZ winter. treat yourself to the deluxe room at least. Heated bathroom floors, jaccuzi tub for two, modern luxury decor and lighting, we missed it the day we left! Professional generous service in francais if that's your thing. Fireplace in the lobby to take the chill of and enjoy a rich hot cocoa while you plan your next excursion. Location just cant be beat. Steps from the towns dining and entertainment options, the wharf, and the 15 minute path that will take you to the skyline gondola to the most breathtaking views of Gods gift to the New Zealanders. We didn't take advantage of the posh breakfast spread, honestly a little pricey for what we wanted, but looked to be a treat for culinary and gastronomic senses. 5 minutes around the stoplights I'll have you in front of FergBaker - an incredible counter offer ring a selection of french breads and pastries still warm from the back room that would make chef Pierre weep. Note, the rooms facing the town and lake may have an obstructed view, the hotel is shaped like an "L". But trust me you'll want to spend all your time outside. Also, always being wary of the unforseen, we were reluctant to reserve given there were no options to cancel. We were glad to have risked it though - payoff was worth the worry. One of the most memorable stays ever for us, would return without question. Thanks Sofitel!

      Best location in Queenstown ”

I've stayed a few times - in particular getting ready for my wedding 3years ago. Could never fault this hotel before but felt things were slipping this time. Just little things that weren't there before. Shortage of teabags each day in the room, tv remote not working, stains on the carpet etc. First world problems but just not what you expect at Sofitel. Housekeeping staff were not as friendly as before - has there been a change of management? Still a lovely hotel and I'll always come back to it.

Great location, nice atmosphere, bed not great”

Great location, great service, great food, first class spa facilities

We spent a long weekend at Sofitel to unwind and relax. The hotel was the perfect place for this. We dined in-house one night, the food was perfect and front of house staff were friendly and professional. We took advantage of the in-house LeSpa facility which was absolute luxury and would highly recommend a visit. Although the room was lovely, clean and spacious, we did feel the bed comfort was a little poor for 5 star accommodation. The service from staff was outstanding, with any requests being carried out promptly and with a smile. The central location of the hotel is perfect for shopping and dining out.

5 star hotel standard, every staffs with nice smile and very helpful. But our room at low floor so that people walk around the street can see inside the room, so we have to keep curtain close for privacy. Great location in town center, only few minutes walk to the lake side and steam ship.
