Value for Money - Spacious & Clean Room (Deluxe King Room)”
We arrived early around 11am with intention of luggage drop before check-in time. The receptionist said room was ready and checked us in! Room is spacious and clean. Location is good - 1 min walk to Canal St Subway (Yellow), Starbucks and Mac Donalds. Many shops with big brands (such as Zara, Nike, Adidas) are few blocks away. 5 mins walk to Chinatown with delicious eateries. Hotel does not provide breakfast but Taipan Bakery (Chinatown) is 5 mins walk away. Hotel is by the main road and with busy New York, expect horning from vehicles during the day and evening. I love busy area hence this does not bother me and I feel safer compared to quiet streets or area. Hotel provides baggage deposit service at US$2/day/bag and this is a big bonus for those who needs to fly domestically for few days and do not wish to pay for luggage check-in. Would definitely stay here when back to New York.
THIS IS THE PLACE TO STAY!!!”
From the moment my husband and I arrived we received a very warm welcome from the gentleman at the front desk (I really wish I got his name because he was outstanding!!!). He offered us his umbrella when it was raining, recommended places to eat, and offered to give us a room on a higher floor when the noise from the street was a bit too loud. We had a deluxe king room which was very spacious, especially for New York. Location was excellent for restaurants and shopping and there is a Subway right outside to get you to Times Square. The cleaners always did an excellent job. We stayed 9 nights and we could’ve easily stayed 9 more. As first timers in New York I did A LOT of research before booking this hotel and I truly think we found an absolute gem for the price! Thank you so much for looking after us! <3
Awesome location, great value for money ”
My friend and I stayed here in a room with two single beds. The room isn’t big but we were able to move things to suit our needs. The bathroom was big enough to accommodate the chair which we used for our clothes when we showered and we put a suitcase under the desk and another in between the beds. We then put our carry ons under the sink in bathroom. Location was great although the subway station was under works in evening so we had to get off at Grand street and walk back (not too far). Our room was relatively quiet for new York - we were on level 7. Beds were a little short but nothing we couldn’t deal with. Pillows weren’t great. If you have room and you’re fussy then take your own. Awesome cafe with 10% discount next door - great coffee, chai, bagels. Male staff member with long dark hair (didn’t get his name sadly) was amazing and made us feel so welcome. He was really helpful. Overall awesome value for money and better than what our friends got who paid much more.
Great stay in New York!! ”
This hotel is perfect for a base to explore New York, the subway is a few feet from the door and will get you everywhere. Situated in China Town it’s great to see the local area and people. We loved the variety of people that we met. The hotel staff are lovely and helpful and our room was clean with a comfy bed. Our room was on the front of the hotel overlooking the street, so we did expect to hear street noise. It didn’t bother us but some might like the quiet. There are McDonald’s, cafes and a Starbucks all very close to the hotel. Please bear in mind that the hotel is in China town so you will get asked daily if you want to buy sunglasses, handbags etc. Overall we had a fabulous stay and would definitely stay here again. Thank you!
Good location, Clean, but noisy”
The location is good, right next to the Canal Street subway station and walking distance to soho shopping area and also Chinatown. So we can have some breakfast with lower price in Chinatown. The hotel facilities are quite new and clean, very bright room at daytime. As it is facing to the busy street, so you will keep hearing the noise from the street all night.
Excellent value for money at Soho”
The hotel goes with 2 name Soho Garden Hotel and Tribeca Blu Hotel. It's really at the end of Soho just before ChinaTown. For this price at Soho you can't really ask more. I stayed at the 4th floor you can hear traffic but it's bearable you can sleep not a big deal. The internet was fast. There's no restaurant at the hotel. The hotel uses central heating system if you need the temperature changed you can call the front desk.
great location, nice staff!”
The location was absolutely perfect for our first ever week in New York. In the middle of the main attractions! The rooms was clean and tidied every day. It isn’t very big for Manhattan and the price it was beyond perfect! The staff was very kind and calm, easy to talk to and got everything sorted in no time. Highly recommend it!
Perfect stay for City trip Manhatten”
We stayed here 4 nights. We read different comments on Agoda, so did not know what to expect concerning room comfort. We had a room on the thrid floor and enjoyed beautiful days in New York. Room comfort was super. No facilities for breakfast which was no problem for us, but they offer a nice deal at the coffee shop on the corner. Shopping facilities and Metro nearby. Would stay here again.
Best for our budget”
We flew 20hrs and arrived around 10am and they let us have our room no extra charge and we are so grateful. Even though the room is small everything is functional. The comfy bed has high legs so you could put your stuffs and luggage under the bed. Only two pillows. The water pressure in the shower is good as well as the heat. Only coffee maker no tea. There are Halal food carts 7Eleven, McDonalds, Paris Bagutte and lits of shops nearby. Subway many lines nearby too. There is a self service n drop off service along Lafayette St. Chinatown & Little Italy is nearby. We had a nice stay.
Great location and value, friendly staff”
Perfect location right above subway in Chinatown, spacious, clean rooms with great view and natural light, friendly staff let us check in a bit early and checkout late. I'm still marveling at how awesome this place was for the price.
Had 6 nights at the soho garden hotel and it was brilliant. The staff are extremely nice and helpful and they made the stay perfect.
Good all around”
It's pretty tough to find an affordable hotel in the city that isn't a hostel/about to be condemned. Near $200 after fees for one night is not my idea of "saving." That said, Soho gives you pretty much everything you could ask for. Fantastic location, room was clean, staff was friendly and helpful (my first key didn't work, my AC was off, and I couldn't figure out the shower; they politely solved each issue in about 4 seconds).
Great Well-run Hotel”
The multiple lines subway station is just outside the front door. The hotel is 3 blocks from Chinatown and Little Italy. The hotel is clean, well-maintained. The staff is very helpful. I had to make an emergency phone call to Hong Kong. The night front desk attendant patiently walked me through on how to use a phone card and saved me a lot of money. I will definitely stay here again when I visit NYC.
Great Location and Brilliant Value for Money”
This is the second time I've stayed at Soho Garden Hotel. It's location is the best! Access to the subway is literally at the front door. Rooms are clean and staff super friendly. Plenty of choices for food in Chinatown or a couple of blocks away in Little Italy.
Perfect location, cozy room, and friendly staff ”
I stayed at Soho Garden Hotel for about 11 nights. Very comfy bed, clean room and PERFECT location.
Great staff and location”
Very friendly staff. Everytime we entered the hotel, the reception staff said hello or have a good day. Location is perfect for the subway. Yellow line straight outside, if you want to get to times Square. Green line just up the road and blue line is a 5 minute walk away. Little Italy and Chinatown within a few minute walking distance. Our room was a little pokey, but was perfect for the amount of time we spent in there. Would stay here again as it's cheaper than staying in midtown Manhattan and the transport links are perfect.
SoHo Garden Hotel was in a good location very y close to subway stations. The facility was very clean with excellent room cleaning service. The staff was congenial and willing to assist us with most of what we needed. I would recommend the facility without reservations. Thank you!
A budget hotel with good travel location”
The good things are that the hotel has good connections for the subway and the “Big Bus Tour” stop is around the corner. The restaurants for Little Italy are a few blocks away as is China Town. Also the staff are friendly and the room is cleaned each day. Also by NY prices it is a Budget Hotel and is ok for a few nights. The negatives are that the rooms are tiny with no facilities to unpack(no wardrobe or draws)so we lived out of a suitcase. For one person the room would just about suffice but for 2 people the room is difficult. The internet is hit and miss and when working is slow. The aircon is poor and struggles to cope when it is warm.Because it is a budget hotel the sound insulation is poor so there is road/traffic noise all night.
Great location but noisy outside that's just New York all over”
Next to subway for commuting easily around New York lots of cafe close to hotel China town & little Italy right next to you. Staff helpful with any questions. Noisy outside hotel all the time Good basic hotel for price
Convenient location, friendly staff. You get what you pay for!”
Location was great, staff was great. The rooms are a bit small, and we wish there was a mini fridge in them, but otherwise it was totally fine for what we needed and what we paid for! We got unlucky and the hotel ran out of pillows on our first night, but we were able to acquire more the following day. Front desk is friendly and obliging, we would certainly stay here again for the price and convenient location.
