A Break from the Bungalow Life”
We were very happy with our stay, it was a nice break from the buggy, muggy bungalows. The AC was lovely, proper bathroom, TV with English channels. Staff was very friendly, set up our room so it was nice and chilly when we arrived. They provide water and even toiletries. Breakfast coupons are given at check in. I’m confused by the negative reviews—people are forgetting they’re on an island in Cambodia. Sometimes the power goes out because it’s a Cambodian island (not the hotel turning it off...). Sometimes there are ants because you are in the jungle. Sometimes the bathroom doesn’t smell fresh because, again, you’re on a Cambodian island. Sometimes the hotel has sandy floors because—aha!—you’re on an island. If you want luxury, fork over the $1000/night to stay on Song Saa Private Island. Maybe they’ll listen to your complaints but I bet you’ll still have ants... ;) Sok Heng is a great choice if you’re staying on Koh Touch.

DO NOT BE THE NEXT VICTIMS”
My fiancé and I sufferred a terrible experience with this guesthouse. We booked the best room of that property - the one that they call "Delux Suit seaview". When we checked in, they gave us the small double room that is nothing more than a bed in the box, with stinky bathroom like in public toilet. It's super dirty everywhere all around this guesthouse in general. We came to the receptionist and told them we got the wrong room and showed our confirmed booking, the answer we got was that our booking from agoda is not reliable, they just work with booking.com (?!) We discussed like 2.5 hours for what we have already booked and confirmed, but he showed just one different booking maybe made by him, ignored all our proving documents with Agoda, he turned to bad agressive face and defied us to solve this with Agoda on our own, he said that solving is the customers' role, and because his expensive hotel doesn't have a PHONE. We are not the only one that expreience it. Dont become the next.

REALLY angry”
We had booked the Delux Suite with Sea View which was described as a beautiful spacious room. When we arrived they made us pay first and then showed us the room. It was a tiny chamber, just the bed and a little space to the wall. We told the staff that this was the wrong room, that we had been confirmed another, and showed our booking. But the girl said (her words): "Oh no, you're in the right room. It's not the size of the room, it's the sea view that matters." We did not agree, but she didn't mind. Neither did we get the room we had booked nor did we get a refund. So if you like go get screwed, nevermind, come to this guesthouse. If you prefer honest and friendly hotel and staff I strongly recommend to choose another.

Never again”
Staff appeared to be doing as little as possible, with the exception of the restaurant staff. The amenities advertised on Agoda where not readily available, ie: I had to go &get my own TP & water 2 days in a row. The room was perpetually damp &infested with ants to the point where we had to kill the ants in our bed each night before going to bed. Any inquires into the hotel deficiencies were responded with “well, we are on an island”. Definitely not worth the $50 a night we paid. To be fair, they did refund us $5 a night that we were there to make up for no T.V. Breakfast was not included with our $50 a night, nor did we receive a coupon for any food from the restaurant. During the night they turn the power off anywhere from 2 to 3 hours while you are trying to sleep. This causes the air conditioning to go off, making it uncomfortable to sleep.

Best Value on Koh Rong”
Koh Rong does not have a lot of options, but Sok Heng is excellent. I needed comfortable accommodations with wifi that could support a Skype call, and Sok Heng offered just that. Comfortable yet basic room. Great air conditioning. Very close to the beach where all the bars and restaurants are. Definitely recommend.

INSECTS INSIDE THE BED!!!!!!”
So me and my friend decided to pay a bit more for a hotel room this night as the accommodations along the beach are really shabby. Sitting in the room, my friend says hey can you hear that it sounds like animals walking on the floor? I sure did as well. we checked under the bed and we see like small piles of sand underneath it. We thought that that was so strange but as it turns out THIS WAS PILES OF SAWDUST!!! And then we realized that what we hear- is in fact INSECTS OF SOME SORT INSIDE THE BED/BED-FRAME EATING/MAKING THEIR WAY THROUGH!!! We asked the guy at the reception to have a look, he and another cleaning lady did, and they say “it’s fine, you can still sleep there”. Obviously we were not going to sleep in a bed full of insects so he then agreed to let us switch to another room. A room that was obviously cheaper.... the next day we checked out and spoke to the lady at the reception. This young lady had obviously just arrived to work after some beach after party as she had glitter all over her body and face and make up was running off of her face. She just apologized for the bugs in the bed but had no intention of issuing a refund of either the whole night fare (45 usd!), or at least the difference between the different room rates. It should be underlined that we could HEAR THE INSECTS! As in hearing them eating or whatever they were doing inside the bed! Disgusting !!!!

Above average”
Expensive for what you get but unfortunately I think that's the story for the Island. Guesthouse itself wasn't unclean but rooms not cleaned for two days. No bed bugs though which was a major positive! Staff friendly and helpful and decent location if you are happy not to be right on the beach

Good hotel-like accommodations”
Seems to be about as good as you can get without spending quite a bit more and staying at a resort. You should know what you're getting into though; standards are lower than on the mainland. Power goes out frequently at night, plumbing can't handle TP, etc. Also, our bed was absurdly creaky. If I rolled over at night the bed would creak 3 times.

Quite Good Relative to What's Available on Island ”
Having a well functioning aircon (though noisy) and cable television with many English channels provided a nice refuge for lazy/hung over times. These amenities can't be readily found on the island so that alone makes Sok Heng a decent option. The drawbacks are that it's not on the beach (but quiet because away from bars), the bed is kinda hard and there is no hot water. Also, there should be a free breakfast for what they charge. Instead you get a 3$ coupon for each day. Thr cafe prices aren't great so you end up spending several dollars to round out your breakfast, even with the coupon. The food itself is only serviceable on top of that, nothing to write home about. One final complaint is that they start cleaning way too early in the morning. A mop bumped against my door at like 5 am and woke me up. The ladies were out cleaning the commons area with flashlights. I feel like they should at least wait until 8am before disturbing folks like that.

Ok for a night or 2 if you don't fancy potentially having insects in your room/bungalows.”
Pros: Located close to the ferry port (ok if you have a suitcase as there is a road and not sand) and few minutes walk away from the bars and restaurants so can get a quiet sleep. Can get a good cheap breakfast when using the $3 off voucher provided. Receptionist are friendly and speak English. No insects in room. Cons: We stayed 3 nights and the Aircon was switched off between ~3am-7am all nights! Not what you expect when you paid extra for aircon accommodation. We were usually unable to sleep well during the time the aircon was off due to there being no fan in the room and the room being very small it became extremely hot. During our 3 nights the room was not cleaned. There is a lot of sand walked in throughout the hotel which means you're going to get sand in your room. My flipflops were taken when left outside the hotel, fortunately they were a cheap pair.

Not value for money!”
Pros: Location Rooms are nice Staff is helpful Decent b'fast Cons: Water in the bathroom would not drain. The bathroom was always wet and you would have to walk through water at any point of time Internet was scratchy but then that is the case all over the island Light goes off often and there is no backup. We couldn't open the window as we would have all the mosquitos coming in then. Barely slept all night in the hot and stuffy room The hotel isnt value for money at all. I would rather pay half the amount and stay in a hostel wherein my expectations of the facilities would also be much lesser

Great location and Staff”
The place was steps from the beach. The staff helped us check in so smoothly and helped us organize the rest of our trip. The beds were comfy. Rooms were a good size. Some downfalls, we didnt have hot water. BUT it was so hot that it was OK. Also this isnt the hotels fault, but we had blackouts but the entire island had rolling blackouts. Breakfast was not included BUT when we got there we got $3 coupons for each morning. All the meals were 3-4 dollars. So that was nice! I would stay at this guesthouse again.

Nice, clean guesthouse with very lovely stuff”
The only thing I would mention is that you'll wake up cery early cause of the village's chicken, who will scream like nonstop from 5 to 9 and that there's no hot water at all. They could ave electronic water heaters for that price. The house is pretty, very friendly stuff and clean rooms.

Too expensive for no hot water”
We moved into the hotel after 2 days of staying at dirty, noisy Cocos boutique hotel, so was happy to see a more livable room. We had the family suite which worked really well for us as a couple traveling with another person because the 2 beds are actually separated by a partition and there was a little tv sitting area. The a/c blew very cold as long as the power on the island worked. Unfortunately Koh Rong loses power regularly so one night we spent the entire night sweating in a humid room. You would think a place like this would have a generator for that price. Also, we were totally disappointed when we used the shower to find it only shoots freezing water. We paid $80 per night and it really wasn’t any better than the $40 per night places. The location was better than most because it is away from the noise, but you do have to walk up a hill a ways.

Awesome stay”
It was definitely an upgrade on the island, you can find much cheaper stuff on the beach but there are a lot of critters, minimal security, no AC and it's really loud. All of which are totally viable choices but we paid a little more and for just a short walk up the hill we got exactly what we were looking for!!!
