Our stay was GREAT! We had a lovely time at Sonalong. Hotel rooms were simple but great size and very clean. Hotel grounds are BEAUTIFUL! Wonderful lush gardens with a great pool area! Hotel is very close- 10 min walk- to central market, night market and pub street.

Had a lovely few days and like it so much we extended our stay. After visiting the temples it was so nice to come back and relax in the quietness by the pool. Only a short walk to the bustle of pub street.

A value for money hideaway ”
We stayed at Sonalong in mid August and it is a really lovely spot. The garden is divine, Mr Hak (apologies if my spelling isn't correct) should be congratulated on all of the work he and his staff have put into establishing a cool green oasis. After the hectic nature of Siem Reap it was great to come back to Sonalong with its lovely pool and generally quiet ambience. It is located in a fairly quiet area but still a relatively short walk to pub street if that's what you're into. If you are into good food it is also close to some great local restaurants. Sonalong was excellent value for money and Mr Hak and his team are extremely friendly and helpful. Thanks for making our stay in Siem Reap so delightful.

My preferred hotel in Siem Reap.”
Great staff accommodate all your requests. Big salt water pool. Nice choices for breakfast. Across the street is a bicycle rental for getting to Pub Street. Many restaurants nearby but the hotel has good food with good prices. I had a pizza and fish amok, very good. Tea and coffee in the room. Rain showerror with plenty of hot water. Warning it gets hot fast. Mini bar and toiletries, large safe. The manager can arrange taxis and bus tickets and tours.

We enjoyed our time at Sonalong, the rooms were lovely, clean & spacious - great having a little porch to sit and enjoy the great gardens. Breakfast simple, but all you need. Great communication before arrival & happy to help with anything you need while here. Highly recommended!

Lovely little room in a garden”
I loved this little oasis in Siem Reap. I was worried about being too far away from Pub Street, but this distance was perfect. Once I actually saw Pub Street I realized that I'm a little too old for that. It reminded me of a small weak Bourbon Street (on a weekday). My room was closest to the street but there was very little street noise since the hotel is not on a busy street, but on a small street off of busy Wat Bo Rd. The a la carte breakfast was small but if you let them know that you're still hungry they will give you more food. The Cambodian coffee they serve was fabulous and I'm hoping to find some here in the States. Sal and Sun took very good care of us and arranged a tuk tuk driver (Mr. Nga) to pick us up from the airport, take us to the temples, and then to the bus station at the end of our time in Siem Reap. All of the rooms are great and the little pool is perfect for cooling off on a hot day. It was very nice to be surrouned by sculptures, plants, lizards, and birds.

This is our third visit here. A highlight of this very clean, excellent value for money hotel, is the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff . The tropical garden setting with pool, compliments the easy-going quiet atmosphere. Mr Hak is an excellent organiser for anyone wishing to plan trips in this part of Cambodia – he is very knowledgeable and has a network of top-quality English (and other) speaking guides and drivers. The complimentary breakfast is excellent and range of menu items for meals is also very good.

Two-story buildings, a room down and one up. quiet part of town, near Love U restaurant. Don't let the road fool you, it is an easy and safe walk to the river then the Night Market area, or $2 by tuk-tuk. Breakfast is ordered from a set menu, and you can have more. The salt water pool is nice because it is chemical free and easy to float. Loungers in great condition, padded mats, 2 towels each, and a shower and bar. Comfortable bed and pillows. Great balcony with table and chairs, I had a view of the pool through some trees, very private. Great Wifi.

Good welcome brief by the manager, explaining the hotel services etc and also with a welcome drink. I arrived at 11.00 and early check in was not a problem. The room and balcony were a generous size. Came with decent air conditioning and an electronic safe. A little worn but very clean. Bathroom was a good size and shower was strong with plenty of hot water. Clean towels, linen and some toiletries were supplied. Hotel breakfast wad good. The noodle soup was made with fresh vegetables and tasty. The pool was clean and well maintained but beware.. the tiles around the pool area are not non slip. Hotel staff friendly, efficient and spoke English to a good standard. They were able to assist me in arranging a tuk tuk to go to Angkor Wat. A very reasonable $15 for the day. English speaking driver Mr Dorn, able to advise on negotiating the huge temple site and arranging other excursions. The hotel is situated in a quiet safe area in walking distance of the nightlife. Fully recommended

Walking distance to Pub Street (I walked it) Used the salt water pool, towels were provided, great atmosphere with plants everywhere, bar served drinks. Food was great. Room was big, clean, had both a ceiling fan and air conditioning to battle the heat. Also had a nice large balcony with recline chairs. TV had a ton of channels, more channels then places I stayed in Thailand. Internet worked great throughout the room and entire facility with multiple access points. Staff was polite, attentitive, and good sense of humor. (like most Khmer people). Airport pickup showed up on time and I did not have to contact hotel, just filled in my flight info on Agoda and TukTuk was there with my name on a sign. If I go to Siem Reap again this is where I will stay.

Staff are very friendly and helpful. Good food, and inexpensive. THe chicken Amok was wonderful, lots of big pieces of white meat. Breakfast was from a menu, with good variety. Besides eggs they had museli and fruit. The room was big, the rain shower had good pressure and hot water. THe big balcony faced the pool but was private with all the trees. THe rooms are separated by a few feet so no noise. The big pool is very clean. Nice big towels, hairdryer (in basket), fridge, shampoo and gel. Very good Wifi. Located not too far from the river, easily walked to. I'll definitely go back.

Peaceful gardens, beautiful room and pool, great owner and staff
This is our second time at Sonalong, and its ever nicer now. The rooms have been given a bit of a makeover and they're lovely. The little bungalows are set amongst tranquil gardens which make you feel as million miles from the busstle of the town. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive and the owner took a personal interest in ensuring his guests happiness and comfort. I can't recommend this place highly enough ☺

The hotel is small and intimate, not an anonymous huge building. It consists of bungalows with a room downstairs and one upstairs. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Has mosquito nets on doors.
I slept very well as the hotel is quiet and located at a not too busy road. I liked that they have mosquito nets on the doors so I could sleep without aircondition as at night temperature is cool. I only can recommend it. I did not eat there so I cannot judge the food except breakfast which is cooked freshly according to customer's wish. Very nice staff, friendly and able to speak english well.

        Atmosphere, location, staff, ambience
one will be very tempted to not leave but stay and enjoy the beautiful ambience and setting - in the room and the grounds. it is well maintained and nice appointments in the room. with an international clientele, it is a great place to just hang-out there. after touring the city and the angkor ruins, a dip in the pool and a refreshing drink sure hit the spot. i wish i had more time to just lounge on my lanai - resting, reading, relaxing. off the beaten path, it is nice to be a short distance from the hustle and bustle of siem reap.

lovely garden, pool, large room, deck or balcony, clean
We enjoyed the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. My son and grandson stayed in an upstairs room and it was a bit smaller than the downstairs one that I was in but it had a lovely, large, private balcony to relax on. My room had a verandah to sit out but not as private as the upstairs one. The garden is full of trees and plants, many are labelled with their name. The pool is a good size and lots of lounge chairs. Meals can be eaten in a roofed in restaurant or there are a few table around the pool. The breakfast was standard, eggs, two slices of white toast. However I ordered the Cambodian noodle soup breakfast, which I usually love, but it did not have any flavour. The waitress was very concerned and brought me an omelette and toast when she saw i wasn't eating anything. The staff also arranged transportation for us and made quite a fuss of my nine year old grandson calling him boy. It is located about a bit of a walk away from the market and bar street. We were busier going to Angkor Watt and swimming and so did not go there at all.
