Best vacation ever. Sophia's topnotch all the way”
We were here on December 14-16, 2013. We were hesitant to go so soon after Super Typhoon Haiyan and we were worried that the hotel may have been damaged or lacking in basic facilities. It was good we decided to still go because Sophia's Garden Resort exceeded all our expectations. It's not a fancy shmancy hotel but it is cozy, relaxed and very inviting. Only 8 rooms in the entire resort so you know that the service would be impeccable. They pamper you with everything even before you think about them. Coron itself has some fallen trees and some of the coral reefs have been damaged. But the beauty of the lakes, lagoons and beaches is simply breathtaking. The advantage of going when everybody else is hesitating is that we had almost all of the places exclusively ours. It really heavenly. The people of Coron are very warm and hospitable, and the staff at Sophia's Garden Resort is topnotch proof why IT'S MORE FUN IN THE PHILIPPINES (IT'S MORE FUN IN CORON) I would definitely recommend you visit Sophia's Garden Resort. It's absolutely perfect.

The best place to stay in Busuanga, Coron, Palawan”
Sophia's Garden Resort is a family friendly place where you will meet the best staff who goes out of their way to make their guests comfortable. The room we had was clean and spacious for 4 people. Pool was big with a spa. There is a gazebo where you can dine in private. Sophia's restaurant is reasonably priced, food served hot and delicious. The kitchen staff especially Chef Jojo woke up at 3am to prepare us breakfast to go as we had an early Safari Tour at 4am. Even the receptionist Maristele was up at 4am to make sure our ride arrives on time. This is the kind of service you look for when on a vacation...a hassle free stay. If we go back to Coron, we will definitely book Sophia's Garden Resort again and will recommend it to our friends in Sydney, Australia.

Sophia's is a tremendous place for couples”
Our stay at Sophia's Garden could not have gone any more splendidly. Upon entering the resort, we noticed the beautiful gardens and lush greenery of the place. It has the feel of a homely and comfortable place; but at the same time, it's very beautiful with many places to take nice pictures. By and large, the Sophia's Garden STAFF is what made our experience incredible. My fiancee and I were both amazed at how personal the service and attention the staff showed us. During our 6 days/5 night stay, we got to know many of the staff members and got to know them on a first name basis who were all very friendly. One experience we had was I happen to mention to the staff manager (Oliver) that it was my fiancee's birthday the following day and he made special arrangements for us to have a special dinner poolside with a row of candles lit on the floor. It was very intimate and romantic. ... Aside from the amazing staff, Sophia's Garden's food is amazing! In general, when traveling you want to experience all the different cuisines of the area, but we mostly ate at the resort because we enjoyed the food so much. We had many meals outside of course, but often opted to save our appetites for the resort. My fiancee and I would like to personally thank Oliver, Darwin, Vincent, Charmaine, Bea and Jeff, et al. You've all made our stay pleasant and nice. See you soon!

Great staff and very comfortable”
Brilliant hotel resort, I would recommend this to anybody. It's not within walking distance to the town centre but it's very easy to order a taxi or what we did was always order a tricycle, they're much cheaper and a lot of fun. My only little disappointment was the internet was unbearably slow, but all in all, the resort was fantastic and very pleased we chose Sophia's Garden over the other hotels in Coron especially as seeing what the others were like after getting there, Sophia's Garden was the right choice by a mile! ;)

Best place in Coron!”
We enjoyed our stay at Sophia's Garden Resort. It was love at first sight. The garden and pool gave a relaxing feel of the place. The rooms were very clean and spacious. Staff were courteous and friendly. They served delicious buffet breakfast. They can still improve by providing wifi connection at the hotel rooms. Right now, it is only available at the reception and garden area. While we came there for a vacation, it is inevitable to bring a bit of work, and that means having to connect late at night. It was quite a hassle to go out and connect at the reception area, especially when you are tired and it is already late. I brought my personal pocket wifi, and it was not working also within the premises. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Sophia's and will definitely recommend it to family and friends.

Excellent service and relaxing place”
My stay at Sophia's Garden Resort was well worth the money I paid for. The staff members are very attentive and provides excellent service. They even offered to dry out our bathing suits using a a special blower/dryer, which of course we availed for. Food in their dining area are delicious, and was so amazed to see "danggit" dried fish on the menu. Some items on the menu are not available but it is understandable as they can only keep so much fresh ingredients on site like the fresh buko. Van service and sign up for activities are easily arranged. Internet connection is only available in the dining area and it is slow as expected, as I knew this upfront upon booking. This is one area that needs to be improved. They have broken ground for construction of the new area and heard it will be bigger than their current size. I hope Sophia's service won't be downgraded as their business grows with the new annex.

Sophia's Garden did not dissappoint. The good reviews about this resort are all true. The staff takes care of you to the highest level. The place/resort is very calming , quiet and relaxing. So nice to come home from the tours and relax in it's jacuzzi and pool and have dinner at their gazebo. I dont have any negative things to say about the place and its staff. Truly happy we stayed here. We will recommend it to others and we will book here again when we plan to go back to Coron in the future.

Our family had a wonderful dinner at the pavilion in the garden, the food is delicious, enviroment is quiet and cozy, staff is nice and helpful. The overall service is superb！They only have 2 nights rooms available, but we return just to have dinner at Sophia's. Will definately recommend my friends to stay here!

Lovely Garden and very service oriented staff”
We enjoyed our stay at Sophia's garden and we loved the spacious garden. This is ideal for families and for couples seeking more peace and quiet. The staff of Sophia's are very service oriented, always ready to help! Just a note to management. The resort is undergoing construction . We booked a room good for 4 pax. Upon check-in, we discovered that our room is next to the construction site and the verandah/balcony was completely sealed off, making the room very dark and feeling enclosed. The management should be very clear about this situation in the booking site and be transparent about the situation. I will not book this room option in the first place if I knew about the situation. We raised this issue to the reception desk. Fortunately, the resort agreed to move us to another room (Family room) where it was much more pleasant to stay. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will not hesitate to come back when the expansion is complete, which looks very promising.

Best Hotel in Coron”
Sophia's Garden is the best hotel in Coron. Quietly tucked away, you are ensured a real quiet and restful vacation. The hotel staff was possibly the best set of service people we've met. They made sure that everything was to our satisafction. Can't find anything you like on the menu? Don't fret. Just tell the staff what kind of food you are craving for and they will make special arrangements with the Chef to make sure that you are well fed. The resort was so nice that my family didn't even want to leave!

A sanctuary within a sanctuary”
This small guest house accommodation was just delightful. Set amongst a beautiful and meticulously nurtured garden surrounding the hotel truly lives up to its name. The hotel staff are amongst the most welcoming hospitable people on the planet, with utter care for their guests. They smile, they make great suggestions and they anticipate your needs. The pool within the gardens is perfect for those hot days, especially if you've been out touring the island. The food is delicious and includes local and international choices, all cooked with love and to your dietary needs. The rooms are clean, with good air conditioning, hot and cold water and toilets all with flush. Overall, this was a real gem find. Filipino hospitality at its best. Coron (Busuanga island) needs to be explored and we neglected to give it the proper time. (We'll come back) Sophia's is just a short 5 minute ride on a "tricycle" (motorised) to a bustling small town with good atmosphere, bars, restaurants, a local market and plenty of locals to integrate with.

Great service and calm, beautiful resort”
We spent only one night in Sophia's Garden Resort, but would have wanted to stay longer! Really nice resort with helpful and quick staff, nice breakfast (non-buffet). We arrived after 5 days island hopping, so we highly appreciated the nice bed and clean room and the best ever-shower in our Asia trips! Although situated in a calm area outside of city traffic, the walls in the resort are so thin that good sleep cannot be guaranteed especially after 6am...

amazing hotel, close to being perfect but...”
we could not have asked for a better place to stay at coron. hotel arranged our pick up from the busuanga airport, we did a fast check in and we occupied our room. I do have to say, the room is pretty small, but that could be because there were 2 beds and a baby crib ( 4 adults and a baby staying), so I wish they would have a bigger room and I could have pay more, but it looks like all the rooms are the same size. Still, good deal for the price, the area is secluded from main town which is good because coron town is noise, polluted, messy, etc. it was nice after a day of island hopping at the sea to go take a dive in the swimming pool, the design of which was amazing, with glowing colors and seat lounges around the pool. at night, if we did not feel like going to town for dinner, we could have dinner in a private canopy, overlooking the gardens and the pool, and the price was very affordable and the food was delicious!! however, there is a few things to improve: there was no wifi during our stay, supposedly because of clouds affecting the signal, however, just going to town is a 5 min trike trip, and there at least I could get a 3G signal, which I could not do at sophias. as well, the rooms were pretty small, wish the new rooms they are building would be a tad bigger. besides that, our stay was great!! and if I go back there, this would me in my top choice list, I may try Asian grand view hotel which is close by, but this is a really great hotel!! recommended

First time to Palawan and we just chose Sophia's Garden for the reviews we get from the Internet. It exceeded our expectation. Staff were friendly.. The food was reasonable and great. The rooms are comfortable and relaxing. The comfort room is clean and smells good. We'll definitely recommend this place. ☺️

When in Coron - I highly recommend this hotel - Sophia's Garden - worth my $, it did not break my bank, and you get really good service and amenities. It does not belong to a "chain of hotels". Really spacious grounds. Booking comes with buffet breakfast and airport transfers. My son loves watching his pancakes or french toast being cooked (My daughter and I get omelettes). It has a beautiful dining area - mix of capiz, bamboo, glass. Island feel!

Relaxation at its finest ”
We recently traveled to Coron to celebrate our anniversary.. The welcome of this hotel, amazes us. They prepare our room with candle lights and rose petals and a background music as we enter the room. What I love most about the place is the peaceful ambiance wherein you can truly relax after a long day of island hopping. Room is spacious (deluxe room, we requested for upgrade) & clean. The food at the restaurant was on an average. We look forward for a spa inside the hotel but there's none. I hope they can set up since the place is good for relaxation. Overall, i will recommend the place for those after a quiet and peaceful place. Thank you Sophia's Garden for a great stay :)

The best trip we have had is in Voron and Sophia's Garden played a major role. The staff are the best. They were always anticipating our needs and accommodated every request. They provided food not on the menu when requested. Found a guitar and keyboard go our New Year celebration. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The gardens were expansive with tables scattered around so we could sit there and talk or read a book. The pool jacuzzi was heated - perfect for our tired muscles at the end of the day. They organized and customized our tours. Nothing was impossible!

4 nights in paradise!”
My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights in February 2015. We were immediately impressed with the room size when we walked in. Other resorts we have stayed at in Palawan had smaller rooms for an even more expensive price. Then sitting down for dinner we were amazed by how friendly, courteous and hard working all the staff were. They always made sure you were taken care of and that we were! The dinners in the garden were fantastic and we would have to pay several times more for the atmosphere, food and service back in Canada. Would highly recommend this resort! No complaints what so ever!
