Great customer service... the owner is very friendly and relax and easy going... The room is clean and very quite at night. In side the room, there are rules and regulations and that make the room very quite to relax at night... will stay again when I am back in Vang Vieng.

Quiet and Comfortable Guesthouse”
Stayed 2 nights when we first arrived in Vang Vieng. We saw a staff member straight away so that we could check in - this was lucky as we didn't often see the staff around much for the rest of our stay but this doesn't bother us. Room was decently sized with a very big and comfortable bed. Nice clean private bathroom. Room came with A/C, fan, TV and decent internet. This place was pretty quiet and comfortable considering it is so close to some of the main streets.

Very basic but good location and value”
Room was okey and quite clean, bathroom was very old and had a lot of geco droppings all over the place suggesting it may not have been cleaned in a while! The only window in the room was sealed with toilet paper which was a bit odd and led to the shared balcony so if you want privacy you may have to keep your curtains closed. No tea facilities, toiletries or housekeeping so after 5 nights we were happy to move on!

Didn’t enjoy our stay!”
The most unwelcoming check in in Laos. The most careless staff. They don’t even want to be face to face with you. No amenities in the room. Only tiny soup and super small water bottle. Place is quite noisy at night. Loud music is disturbing. There’s no place for two people to sit in the room! The hot water maker is in the restaurant and surprisingly they lock the door of the restaurant around 10pm so it’s not possible if you wanna have a cup of tea at that time! Disappointing! Electricity plugs in the room are terrible! Nothing near your bed and the one near the door is located 160cm hight on the wall! Very inconvenient! No lobby area! Once in the morning while takes shower water was cut for half an hour! Nothing good about this place. Staff need a lot to improve as well as the place itself. Only good thing was the big bed.

Nice guesthouse with a central location”
Soutjai is right in the centre of Vang Vieng and is a 2 minute walk to the bars, restaurants and market of Vang Vieng. The room was a good size with a comfy bed and warm shower. We didn’t really have anything to do with the staff, but they were always around and seemed nice enough. I would recommend Soutjai to anyone looking for a no thrills base for a couple of days that is easy on the budget. The only minus point was a couple of light switches weren’t working properly.

This guest house is fine for what you pay for. The rooms are large with air conditioning and a rack to hang your wet clothes. The bathroom was large and clean. The room was quite stale when we got there and the rooms weren't serviced in the 4 days we stayed. But overall quite good. Sout Jai guesthouse is central to the main street where all the restaurants and activity agencies.

Would highly recommend staying here if you are on a budget. Didn't eat at the restaurant so can't speak for that. Rented a moto across the street for a better price than the places down the block were offering.

Smell from BBQ restaurant”
Old building and room with very hard bed. Air conditioner didn't cool but luckily they have fan in the room. No elevator, steep stair. Staff look unfriendly and unhelpful. Big problem for us is room has smell from BBQ restaurant at 1st floor (we got room on 2nd floor). Location is good, lots of street food and restaurant nearby. Anyway, with cheap price, you get what you pay for.

The room was clean and tidy with everything you need. Located very central to everything. Would definitely recommend for any travelling couples who are looking for decent budget accomodation that is away from noisy hostels and bars!
