Great Room and Great Price”

large clean room for $100 per night

i got this deal through priceline.com at $100 per night. south point is farther away from the strip but i didn't go to vegas to gamble, and the price was good. the room was large and clean. i asked for a queen but got 2 doubles instead. the room was a non-smoking room, but you could smell cigarettes throughout the floor; not good. did not eat at any of the restaurants, but did order dinner via room service. very quick (less than 30 minutes) when told it would be an hours wait. food was pretty standaard hotel food. wanted to order take-out from one of the hotel's restaurants but they would not allow it (probably so you have to order room service). wanted to try and see a movie at the hotel's cineplex, but ran out of time. i will likely stay at this hotel again because of the room size. my wife liked the large bathroom and a separate water closet/shower room. many vegas hotels have a single bathroom/water closet (toilet) and shower/bath, which is very cheap. also, south point provides free wi-fi and it was a decent speed whereas just about every other hotel that i researched charges a daily wi-fi fee.

Ladies Get Away”

Reasonably priced, diverse cuisine selection, & the movie theater.

Over all we enjoyed our stay. They have everything you could want and need, and even things you didn't know you needed, all in one location. There were a couple negatives, upon arrival I noticed that the bath towels provided bath towels were noticeably soiled (visible dirt and short dark hairs), as if someone wiped their dirty beard on the towel. We requested to have all new clean, and with in a few minutes the issue was resolved. Additionally, we were on the third floor so I can only comment on that level of the hotel. There was a large group of preteen/teens staying on our wing; they were noisy and could be heard through the walls. I have stayed in many hotels and this room could benefit from thicker walls. Over all I was pleased with our stay and I would recommend this resort to friends, and will return to South Point if ever in Las Vegas in the future.

This was a wonderful vacation for my family.”

The bowling alley, swimming pools, and the movie theatre!!

I would defnitely bring my 2 children back to this hotel the next time we go to Vegas. We only left the hotel once and that was to go shopping on the strip and to the outlets. The rest of our time was spent bowling, going to the movies, and swimming in the pool. It was so awesome because we did not have to leave the hotel. It was a mother's dream!! The service was incredible and I made sure to ask to speak with managers to inform them of what an awesome job the staff was doing. We ate at the various restaurants in the hotel and had icecream everyday from the ice cream shop located there as well. The fact that the hotel had so many activities for the children made my job as a mother very easy!!! Yay South Point!!

Great first timer!”

My wife and I came for a photo booth expo held at South Point. Starting with the Uber driver, "South Point is where a lot of the locals go" which meant to me that it must be a good value. It certainly was! $5 craps all day and night, friendly staff, nice rooms, cafe and little store open all night with great prices on food and booze. Overall and great value and not extortion like other hotels even being at the far end of the main strip. I'd recommend to others for sure!

Best hotel off the strip!”

We stayed here for a weekend and had a blast. South Point truly has everything - bowling alley, equestrian center, movie theater, 11 restaurants, 6 bars, pool, spa, shows, gambling and more! We were planning to check out the strip, but quickly found there was no need to leave the hotel. Anyone staying at the hotel gets a coupon book full of great deals that funded our fun and dining. Just don't forget about the $20 resort fee!

Our experience in South Pointe ”

The hotel is super in general. It is easily accessable to the freeway and to the strip. The bedroom is very roomy and clean. The restroom is big and clean.
I wish that they will provide internet access in the room without charge.

The hotel is super in general. It is easily accessable to the freeway, to the strip, and to the airport. The parking lot is huge and clean and have security patrol. The bedroom is very roomy and clean. The restroom is big and clean. The hallway is well lighted, and clean. The vendor machines and ice machine were easliy available. We recommend anyone to stay in South Pointe as we got the value for the money that we paid. When we go back to Las Vegas, we will definitely book and stay in this hotel again.

A Pleasant Experience ”

The location, the ease of access and the loose slots

We were travelling through Las Vegas and wanted a comfortable one night stay. There was less congestion around South Point than on the Strip with easy access to and from I-15. There was a good choice of restaurants with friendly staff. On top of all that my wife had a good night at the slot machines. We will definitely stay here again.

Value for what we paid”

South Point is a really nice hotel. This is the second time we've stayed there for the USBC National Tournament. We don't gamble, so there's not a lot to do there for us except bowl. There is a theater and a dozen places to eat. But if you're on a budget the only place to eat is the Coronado Café or the Steak and Shake. Prices in the "resort" are as expensive as any really nice restaurant in a big city. The restaurants are great with really good food for the most part. Unlike Vegas of the '60's there's no $1.99 buffet anywhere in Vegas and if you're downtown or on the strip you will be shoulder to shoulder with the half million or so people already there. I wouldn't live in Vegas on a bet.

it's all good”

The rooms are large, clean, and modern but no fridge. Shower was one of the best. Get a room above about the 7th floor if you don't want a view of a wall - I was on the 8th floor and could just see over the parking garage roof. Last time I was lower and could only see a wall. Hotel has everything including good restaurants with reasonable prices. Beverages at the bar are about half the price of strip hotels. Gift shop has the best prices for alcohol I have ever seen. Seriously prices are as good as Costco. Large racebook and sportsbook, Steak and Shake near the books, theaters, equestrian center, bowling, etc. This place has it all and the value for your money is really good. Drawback for some is that it is located 4 miles south of the other strip hotels but it is just off the freeway (15), has a free shuttle to the strip, free airport transfers, and best of all if you are driving from Los Angeles you save 20 minutes going and returning.

Large, clean rooms

Really enjoyed our stay at the South Point. Room was large and clean, with free internet. Good variety of food choices; we ate all of our meals there. Other reviewes have talked about the casino being smoky, but we are non-smokers and weren't at all bothered by the smoke. Price was great for what we got. We would surely recommend this place and would stay there again.

SouthPoint Hotel and Casino Review”

Hotel is new, clean and rooms are larger than most casino hotels.
It's located very south on the Las Vegas strip and one needs a car or other taxi to get to the strip.

Staying at the South Point Hotel and Casino was a pleasant and enjoyable experience. The rooms are clean, the hotel is new and the restaurant food was very good for a casino hotel. Although there is a movie theater and bowling alley (as well as an equestrian center that I did not have a chance to visit), there is No entertainment in the hotel/casino/bar area to enjoy for free, such as music and dancing. I would definitely stay there again, however.

Pleasant atmosphere”

Large, clean rooms. Very able and willing hotel staff. Good location at the end of the strip.
Food in the hotel restaurants generally expensive. Smokey atmosphere throughout the downstairs lobby and casino areas. You need a car to get to the strip or into town conveniently.

Check in and out were flawless unlike some of the older LV hotels. Car valet and bellman assistance were also seamless as an attentive staff quickly fulfilled their jobs. Overall the hotel was very comfortable with many inbuilt attractions like bowling and movie theaters along with the casino gambling. The pool area was nicely arranged. The rooms are designed with more space than most average hotels with better soundproofing and the beds had very comfortable matresses. We found that the restaurant fare was a bit limited and more highly priced than expected. Also, there was the all-pervasive smoke throughout the downstairs which took us some getting used to . Other hotels in Las Vegas seemed to have better air filtering or else enforced no-smoking regulations. We had a very pleasant stay but came to appreciate that while this is not a luxury hotel in the ways some LV hotels are styled, overall it was very good value for money.

South Point Surprise ”

Stayed final 3 days of my week in Vegas at the South Point, and was pleasantly surprised. Hotel was clean, and the rooms were very spacious. I had a renovated room with wood floors, refrigerator, and Keurig coffee maker. All making for an excellent value. The pool and work out room were exceptional. I even caught a morning movie at the Century Movie Theatre on property. This is a hidden gem.

Fantastic Ammenities”

I love this property. They have a bowling alley, movie theater, 11 eating places, swimming pool, spa, Arena, convention center and gambling. The fact that its 7 miles from the strip doesn't matter when you have all that stuff there. There is a free airport shuttle that is fast and spacious. The rooms are lovely and recently updated with very comfortable beds. Room service was fast and decently priced for room service. We had an unfortunate incident in the middle of the night (toilet clogged) and maintenance was at the door in less than 5 minutes. Keep in mind this was 3 am when this happened. The bowling alley had 60 lanes and was amazing to bowl in. The movie theater had several theaters and had all the new movies with very comfortable seats. I wish they would change smoking in the casino because you walk through a cloud of smoke when enter every time.

Great except for the silly "Resort Fee"”

very clean room, very clean room, easy checkout

I would love to agree with the overall great reviews of this place, but the uncaring and rolling-eyes-at-me attitude of the front desk person, that person's boss, and that person's boss when I tried to get the (extortionary) "resort fee" waived was unacceptable. I didn't need their shuttle to the airport, their boarding pass printing, or their damn free local calls, or their (spotty) wi-fi. I was checked in for about 16 hours, from Saturday evening to Sunday morning, and went out to see friends at night, so I wasn't in the room much - so the use of the pool and the fitness room was another non-starter for me. I tried to talk to the people about having to pay this fee - which I understand is common Vegas rip-off behavior - but they insisted there was no way around it. I told the third lady to whom I spoke that I would never be coming back there (despite the admittedly comfortable bed) and she said "Good for you, sir," The point of the story is that resort fees are a bunch of crap. I know it, they know it, and they know they've got you. I don't appreciate their smug attitude and I wonder what sort of tomfoolery the greedy at the South Point (and, admittedly, almost all other Vegas hotels) are going to come up with next. But again - the beds were very comfy. Oh, and the stuff in the little store was reasonable priced. My wife and I got two little things of milk and two ice cream sandwiches for $5. So there's that. Still...

Large; Beautiful Rooms. Nice Casino-Great Restaurants. Fabulous Pool!

I have stayed at this hotel numerous times. I very much enjoy the quieter end of the strip and this hotel in particular. The rooms are spacious; beautiful, and very well equiped. It is away from the usual Vegas "Masses". The hotel has first class restaurants and also the usual casual dining options. The Casino is large with the usual vegas games and tables.

Economy 3+ Star”

Rooms are large and consistently maintained. Valet and check-in are quick and easy

I have stayed frequently at the South Point - it is conveniently located for me, easier access than Strip properties, rooms are consisten and the hotel is priced well for the amenities. It is usually rated on sites as 4 star - it is not what I would call 4 star but it is better than others that are rated 4 star. It is not "slick", targets more blue collar and rodeo and horse enthusiasts. The smoke in the casino area is not a plus for me - seems that has gotten a little worse

Good all-around choice”

Prices, layout, extras

South Point is isolated, so better for people with cars. There is a shuttle service to The Strip if you want to pay but South Point has enough to keep you occupied for 2-3 days without wanting to go elsewhere, This place does not try to impress with glitz and glamour like The Strip casinos. It gets the job done with attractive pricing, easy floor plan and unique but inexpensive features Every guest gets a coupon book that discounts prices at the many bars and restaurants. The casino is housed in one huge rectangle, no twists and turns and hidden exits to keep you inside like The Strip. Extras are a multiplex movie theater (7+ screens), lots of bowling lanes, huge bingo hall. Sports book is great -- horse racing and major sports in separate sections with many screens. Poker room daily tourneys with friendly staff. Gym is accessible 24 hours and nicely equipped. Swimming pool not good for serious swimming. Designed for splashing around, plus it is murky. Table games, the usual suspects, but more than a few dealers were surly.
