The staff here are genuinely polite, helpful, and soft spoken, which is a real highlight of the stay. The resort itself isn’t the newest, and you can see some signs of aging over the years, but overall it’s well maintained with a satisfactory level of cleanliness. Breakfast is your standard continental spread, not a huge variety, but perfectly fine since we didn’t come here for the hotel food anyway. The hot spring can get a little crowded in the afternoon as it’s open to the public. The smaller pools, which fit about three to four people, might require some waiting time. It can also feel a bit awkward squeezing in with strangers and pretending to relax, unless you’re the sociable type who enjoys chatting with new people. If not, try visiting in the morning or after 8pm for a quieter and more enjoyable experience, when you can hop freely from one pool to another. The shuttle service makes it really convenient to travel between the hotel and the stations. That said, it’s worth taking at least one walk to the Xinbeitou station, as the route is lined with interesting spots such as Thermal Valley, the Hot Spring Museum, the public bath, library, and Beitou Park.
