An oasis in Ruteng”
We had a lovely 2 nights' stay at Spring Hill Hotel. The manager Catherine, was particularly helpful with arranging a hire bike and transport to Bajawa. The room and bathroom felt and looked brand new. The breakfast at Spring Hill was exeptional. We would highly recommend staying Spring Hill.

Among the best place in Flores”
Strongly recommend! By far the best in Ruteng and probably among the best in Flores. Very nice and clean rooms! And the service was incredible. Very very friendly staff, attentive to details, always ready to help (including booking all kinds of things at normal prices). Five stars!

Best choice in Ruteng”
wooden chalets in a wonderful garden with fishpond. Nice breakfast area outside and clean rooms with all amenities you need. There was a problem with the wifi during our stay - but it was a pleasure to enjoy the garden instead of being online. In the evening it can be loud due to music during events of local people - we had a perfect sleep anyway.

Mixed feeling about Spring Hill”
First, the room was quite comfortable and spacious. The provison of a kettle and bottled water was helpful. Breakfast was rather disappointing. Food prepared in advance was put in chafing dishes but these were not kept hot so by the time you got to the food it was luke warm at best. You could have freshly cooked eggs. Coffee was so-so which was disappointing considering the coffee on Flores is so good. The evening restaurant was actually quite good - the food varied and tasty and well prepared. Our biggest gripe was with the level of hygene which, admittedly can be pretty poor on Flores. Returning to our room we discovered that the cleaner had taken our rubbish bin and next door’s which contained dirty baby nappies and had dumped the rubbish to the side of our room. I think that the cleaner intended coming back later to pick up the mess but just to even think that it was ok to dump toilet waste this way is amazing Poor staff training probably and it coloured our view of the place.

Best place in Ruteng”
Lovely garden, nice clean room, good Chinese restaurant on site. Near Kopi Mane, the best, if modest, coffee place in Flores.

It was ok”
The weather in Ruteng is very cooling esp. At night. The only way to get fresh air in the room is to open the window, so it would be good if there is a mosquito net for the windows.
