Perfect Location and Stay!”
We had a wonderful stay in Sydney all due to this property. Located very close to King's Cross station, restaurants, stores, and a bit of nightlife, this place is optimal! The staff was very friendly as well and offered to upgrade us to a King Room at a good price. It was well worth it and the room was very clean and comfortable. While this was a working vacay, I was able to comfortably get work done and enjoy breakfast/lunch from nearby bistros. Superb food and coffee. Highly recommended stay!

Had the best stay. Location was amazing. Considering in was in the Cross, it was so quiet and my partner and I both slept so well. We stayed on the 3rd floor in a double room and I really didn't think the bathroom was that small like other reviews say. It was very functional. Would for sure stay again! Staff were so lovely too.

Lovely period building in a iconic spot”
The Lodge is nicely decorated with a good mix of modern and old world charm .. and the room although on the small side was clean and well presented. Good value for money for an inner city location and the staff are very friendly. We had a good breakfast in the cafe downstairs in the morning.

Excellent location, with Kings Cross station easy walking distance, for access to all of Sydney. Friendly and informative staff, always willing to offer help with a smile. Plentiful, low-price restaurants close-by. Spotlessly clean room, with all the mod-cons; good wi-fi reception, and we definitely would return the next time we are in Sydney

Dripping Air Con”
Great location, sound hotel. Probably just a one off, but the air conditioner started leaking during the night, so heavy drip noises woke us up and then we had to try to stop the drips from saturating the carpet with limited towels we had. Not much fun at 3am! King bed was a bit wavy so you definitely stuck to your side. (I did mention the air-con issue to staff so hopefully they get it addressed asap. FYI Room 203, 19/02/22)

Firstly, Eugene at reception was incredibly polite and friendly. It's always nice when dealing with people like him. The location of the building and the presentation inside and out are pretty good too. The building is a little old though and even with refurbishments, it doesn't mask the main failings; there is virtually no sound proofing between floors/rooms and some of the fixtures are not so good. In addition to a broken soap holder and nearly-broken door handle on the shower, we were very disappointed by the noise we were exposed to. We were woken up by a couple of people above us who decided to have a conversation in full voice at 4am. Their booming footsteps as they walked across the floor echoed throughout our room. They decided to go to sleep around 6:30 but then we had to endure the man's snoring! Oh, and then another guest on our floor started a sneezing fit shortly thereafter and it was clear that we had to get up and get out. So, noises aside, the room was comfortable enough (albeit a little dusty and very small, even with a king bed). It's very pricey for what you get but maybe this is typical in Sydney. Overall, it was nice but let down immensely by a terrible sleep and dodgy fixtures.

Lodge 2 stops away from Town hall station”
Pros: Room is big enough for 2 pax, with luggage bag open comfortably. There is lift within the lodge and a supermarket right in front of the lodge. Lodge is 3mins walk away from Kings Cross station. Cons: toilet is very small and it can get abit noisy at night, some drunkard just speak too loudly nearby but still bearable

Lovely old building. In the heart of things- perfect spot. Great cafe/ lounge area. Small double room was well appointed.... squeezy though. I paid $850 for 5 nights. Loud guests til 1am - no one to contact about it. Staff friendly but could not recommend places to eat or give directions etc. If you are having a busy time in this area the room won't matter. I'm thinking of checking out early as there is nowhere to relax - all closed off. pity.

Very accommodating Staff, neat train station and restaurants and convince stores. Room is quite small and Toilet and Bath a bit small, when you take a shower, the water will go out of the glass making the toilet with too much water in the floor

Two star basic hotel ”
Reasonably well positioned and staff are friendly. Hotel lacks facilities such as room safe hand towels shower gel etc. Rooms are small and bathroom tiny. Could be a bit cleaner. Just about adequate for the price. Maybe.

Great for the price”
Great service. First of all we could only reach the Lodge 2 days later than booked because of some unforeseen circumstances. I emailed the Lodge and thankfully received a prompt reply which assured me they would keep the room for us. I must commend the staff for such quick service which put my mind at ease. Fast check-in and check-out too. As for the room itself, it was clean and comfortable with a squeaky clean bathroom. No frills but what was important was that the bathroom was CLEAN. Housekeeping did a fantastic, thorough job even when we did not hang the "makeup room" sign. Friendly, too. It is a very short walk from Kings Cross station, which is not a long distance from the airport. The location is definitely not an upscale area. It is around the younger, rowdier restaurant and bars area of town, which we did not mind as we did not venture out late at night. In fact we had a nice dinner at a nearby restaurant. However if you plan to return late do be careful as the area is known to be less safe than other areas in Sydney. Only two minor points to complain about: 1. No free internet. We relied on a nearby restaurant for this. 2. There was no table/chair in front of the mirror, which made doing my face in the morning less convenient than what I am used to. Other than that, everything was great. No frills or wastage of space or resources. Excellent value for the price you pay, especially in an expensive city like Sydney. I would definitely recommend the Springfield Lodge to any of my friends traveling to Sydney. Such a pity that we could only stay 2 nights instead of the initially planned 4 nights.

Perfect 2-day Sydney Exploration”
I booked at Springfield Lodge 6 months ahead and so I got the Budget Twin Basement Room at a very low price and I our 2 nights stay last November I must say was very worth it. The staff were very friendly. I loved their location despite being so close to the busy red light district area of Kings Cross. (Tip: Look for the Victoria St. Exit on the subway to avoid the chaotic Kings Cross Exit) We walked through Victoria St. to the Royal Botanic Gardens in just 10min. The budget room itself was very nice despite other reviews of it being so small. I think it fits the description and is more than adequate. The room is very clean and I appreciate the room service everyday. Loved the vacation experience in Sydney and Springfield Lodge, will definitely come back.

Great hotel at a budget price”
I love my stay at Springfield Lodge. Although, the room was not very big, it was well kept and very clean. The location of this hotel is great! It's located at Kings Cross which is quite the central part in Sydney. The train is just 5 mins walk away. There are also lots of small cafes located at the back alley near the hotel that serves excellent breakfast. We tried a different cafe every single day. It's amazing! Kings Cross is known to be a red light district with many entertaining adult shows in the area. Therefore, i would not recommend for family travelling with children. But if you're a couple on honeymoon and just here for holiday. It's an interesting place for you to have an eye opening experience.

Read numerous bad reviews about Springfield Lodge - prior to booking. I am a 28 year old guy with a 23 year old Girlfriend and we had 0 issues! Really nice staff, comfortable rooms, late check out was accommodated and it is close to pubs/restaurants. I think it is comical that people could complain about it being near the red light district. It is in Kings Cross - its the red light district lol. The hotel is great and in terms of Australian prices - it is very reasonable. Stay there

great Boutique hotel with alot of charm”
Springfield offers a rustic old building with nicely appointed rooms. The highlight for me is they have a kitchen for guests to use in the basement so I was able to shop at Coles 5 minutes from Springfield lodge and cook my own meals saving me lots of money on eating out. Staff if very friendly and helpful. Great place to stay as the kings cross rail station is a 3 minute walk and from there you can go all over Sydney.

Bring back the kitchenette, please”
I went to Sydney to attend the Sydney Writers Festival. For four years in a row I chose Springfield Lodge. I was surprised when the staff told kitchenette was closed two months ago. The main factor in my choosing Springfield Lodge because of the distance, comfortable and convenient. I hope the management can provide it again. Next year I'm back here again, hopefully still have a kitchenette.

Reasonably priced hotel near King's Cross metro st”
I had a pleasant stay at the Springfield Lodge which is located near King's Cross metro station. I was looking for a hotel that would be reasonably priced and close to Sydney city center, and Springfield lodge met these requirements. Agoda's offered price is the best if you book in advance. The hotels in Sydney are expensive and the Springfield lodge is possibly one of the best within this price range. I booked a small double room for two nights - the room was rather small and the bathroom was definitely not designed for the tall and mighty. Also,my friend's warned me about the location prior to my arrival - King's Cross does not have the best name in Sydney. I arrived quite late and was a little hungry, therefore went out to find a takeaway, 20 meters away from the hotel door I was offered drugs and other things... However, there are plenty of restaurants and takeaways around the hotel, so one will never go hungry. I would not recommend this hotel to families with children due to the location, and would like to recommend a bigger room to people who are tall and mighty. Other than that, I will possibly stay at the Springfield lodge on my next visit to Sydney.
