Simralis place is centrally located - close to the beach and restaurants. Its a short tuk tuk ride in to Galle and very easy to organise. Friendly family and the room was clean, had wonderful views and had everything that you might need. Would recommend

Well set out”
This guest house is well set out, very friendly operator and well located, walking distance to the beach, plenty of food options along the way. It is on the main road/highway but is set back behind another property and you could hardly hear a thing from the room. Has a nice balcony with chairs and table outside the room the was great to sit and watch the monkeys play and eat the mangoes from the tree very close by. Close to bus station and shops for food and drinks. Room was large with comfy bed and the largest bathroom we had in our 2 week trip.. and the shower was well away from the toilet for once. air con worked well (was needed here)

Incredibly nice stay & family”
The breakfast was lovely & the owners were very helpful with organising our ongoing travels, we came back twice! Only a short walk to the main beach, nice & quiet considering its on a main road.

Very nice place with great bed and breakfast”
Very nice guest house run by a very sweet family. Very clean, great breakfast, super comfy bed and a fridge!!! Good location close to the action and the beach but very quiet. Only thing is that in 4 days no one came to clean, change sheets or make the best or offer toilet paper... Perhaps they were expecting us to ask for it but that's kind of awkward to ask. Very nice breakfast to with real butter not some nasty spread

Excellent Stay at Srimalis Residence”
From the point of arrival until the time l left (which was sadly too soon), I felt right at home at Srimali's Residence. Nalaka runs this place with his family, and the rooms are spacious, comfortable and perfect for both short and long stays. At short notice Nalaka arranged for a whale watching excursion for me, and even took me to Mirissa and brought me back (and spent half his day with me). His dedication is exemplary, and the man is always smiling and friendly. The place is very close to the beach, and there are eateries close by as well. I will return to the same place when I am in Unawatuna next without a doubt. This place is highly-recommended.

Acceptable stay with not much in room facilities”
Pros: Hotel owner was very helpful and accommodating. It was raining when we arrived and we needed to go out to the provision shop. Owner willingly sent us and fetched us back to hotel on his tuk tuk. Breakfast: It was alright and decent. Filled us up (non big eaters) throughout lunch till 3-4pm. We need to order at the reception and pick it up from the second floor. But there isn't any lift, just staircases up to 4th story-not a problem for us even we got the highest floor. Cons: The water heater uses solar energy which I believe most places in Sri Lanka does the same. Hot water may not be available at all times (especially in budget resorts/hotels). It may take some time to warm (yes, I mean luke warm water only) up the showers. But on cold weather, it may not warm up at all. And the water pressure from the showers was really weak that we have to use the bidet instead since the pressure from there is stronger. Nothing much for in room in room facilities. And beware of the mozzies.

The best stop in Unawatuna ”
A warm welcome from a family run guesthouse who made great tea on our arrival! A large fresh room, with clean linen and towels made our stay that more comfortable. The large bathroom was well designed with a great rain power shower and hot water. Breakfast was delicious with a fruit platter and other items. Turn left out of the guesthouse onto matara road, leads you to the beach which is a 7 minute walk. The hosts were great and we enjoyed our stay and only hope other guests share and experience what we did!

Good value for offseason price”
Room: AC, private bathroom, offseason price - no wifi access in the room (2nd floor) - small breakfast - very big room and bathroom - close to the main road but still very calm - 10 minutes walk to the beach - bus station about 100 meters away (not "Unawatuna South") - good connection to Galle or Matara - friendly and helpful owner - kingsize bed with mosquito net
