Pro : nice location, nice mattres, have private locker in room. Have private power socket.have bar and big screen tv. Con: no kitchen . Only have microvawe. Chilling room is very small compare to the size of hostel. Frige is very small. Not enough space for storage. No tissue paper to use in chilling room. Ni water sink to wash hand in chilling room. They provide small 5 littre(maybw) water tank in chilling room which is always empty and 1 have to imform the reception twice. Water cup always finished.no plate or bowl to use. Only a plastic spoon and fork. Toilet near room 403, one toilet door no key. 3 handwash soap tank always empty during my 3 nights stay. Staf start work too early make lot of noise .could not sleep. Can hear people walk, door open n close sound often from inside the room. Have to pay for locker after check in time. THE ELEVATOR WAS THE WORST. very slow and look so broken. Be prepare to wait for it for few minutes. I have been to few st christoper hostel around europe. By far the worst st christoper hostell i have stayed.
Great for the price”
Had to travel from Edinburgh early in the morning, so just wanted somewhere to be until 4am, and this was great for the purpose - forgot my purse at the bar/check in are, but staff had put it aside for me, so great staff as well!
Best Value & Location”
Location is unbeatable, right next to the Waverley & Central between old town & new town. I got the double ensuite with the best view oversee the station & Princes Street and with most reasonable price during my stay (+30£). The Inn has the lift for heavy baggage travelers, Breakfast is good & free if booking direct. Highly recommended
Pay a little extra and avoid this place, genuinely think this property is a health and a fire hazard. Room was so small there is hardly any place to manoeuvre, three tired bunks are a risk, no safe climbing rails. Was unfortunate enough to check in a little late, drunk stinking idiots took issue with switching the lights on, awful smell all round. Rule breakers coupling up bunk below.
The very perfect location”
I really enjoyed my stay here! The bed was clean and comfy, the bathroom was clean. The pub downstairs was cozy and there's socket on every bunk beds! It really worth the money!
A few minutes walk from Waverley train station and a couple of minutes from the Royal Mile (leading to the castle). Nice bar downstairs and chill out area upstairs. Rooms and bunk beds as described. Bag storage/ lockers (useful if you leave late at night after 10am check out) are £1.50 (small) or £2.50 (large) for 24 hours.
Hostel with hotel value”
Loving the location only across the train station, and the room was pleasantly nice with inside bathroom. For a hostel, they provide lift and luggage drop because our train would leave in the afternoon.
a very recomended place to stay, a hostel with a lift ”
The ocation just beside twaverley station, 2 min from royal mile,5 min from edinburgh castel, and the fare also good for a solo traveler like me. Room is organized nicely, bathroom is very clran, the staff is very helpfull, and you it has lift, so need to drag your heavy lugage through the painful stairs. I will stay here longer if I visit Edinburgh.
LOVELY to hear you enjoyed it here so much! I hope to see you soon !:) Loves, St Christopher's EDI
The location of this hostel is very convenience as it is closed to Paddington station, but it was noisy when train passed through the station. The staffs are nice and the public area including toilets & bath rooms are clean. However, the soundproof of the room is quite bad.
good location,Rude room cleaning man”
Stay was good, the cleaning boy though he knew I was in the room taking a shower he choose to stay there ,I understand check out time is 10 but if 10 min extra to check out of room is all right Cause their check in time is 2pm and he spoke rudely reminding me the time, he should have just gone out when he knows someone is in the room, this seriously needs to be taken care off.
A good hotel at convenient location”
convenient location, good price, good service. I booked this room through Agoda. The room is located next to Railway Station and is so conveneint. The rooms were neat and clean. The room service was also OK. The staff were friendly. The breakfast was also good. I recommend this hotel to Agoda users.
Good Hostel Experience”
its an awesome location and the bar downstairs is a great place to meet people but like most backpackers its packed with aussies (for better or worse). also, the staff is wicked friendly and hooked will help you with more or less anything. the room i was supposed to get booked into was full-up but they hooked me up with a single, good people.
The tasteless cow's skull decoration in the breakfast room. ”
If you are a vegetarian or a Hindu or a vegan or an animal rights activist then please do not stay here. In the very breakfast room they had a skull or a cow which made me sick as I was eating my breakfast. I am a vegetarian and a Hindu and I am appalled that the hostel should have such a disgusting display of a poor long slaughtered animal where everyone is trying to enjoy breakfast! Hindus and Buddhists do not eat beef due to the fact that they hold cows to be sacred. A cow is a gentle creature that only gives to humanity and asks for nothing in return. So all Hindu and Buddhist guests around the world that stay here will have their sensibilities hurt. Management please get rid of the disgusting skull.
Nice location in the center of the city
Perfect area, had a lovely time”
The bed was a triple decker and there were six of us so was cramped but it did the trick. The breakfast was good. Exterior was plain with no signage, go look for Belushi's instead
Very good hostel in Edinburgh”
I liked that each bed had a separate lamp, USB charging option, European and English standard socket and dark curtains each bed.
It is very convenient as the train station is just beside. First hostel I seen with a lift which is a great relief for those who are travelling with luggage.
Only location is good”
In Agoda, I booked female dorm with bathroom. but, the hostel received my booking via booking.com, which gave me a mix dorm and shared bathroom. Not sure what goes wrong, but I just wanted to have a good rest. No kitchen and no dining room. only a so called 'chill out room' which I don't feel good at all. the shared bathrooms and toilets with male in this hostel is a big NO for me. won't recommend this hostel, you'll got lots of better choices than this one.
Breakfast options were quite good, there's an eating place next to it. I had a dorm room with city's view. The room was somehow feel quite antique. Room's cleanliness - so so. I heard there was a mouse, but didn't see any
Hello Dewi!:) Thank you so much for your review! I hope you enjoyed your stay and made some great memories. loves, Team St Christopher's EDI
Not a pleasant stay”
The rooms were very small and there was a terrible smell! I didn't think the place was clean. The staff were fine and the location was great! However, I think there is big room for improvement!
