Great place in the heart of Georgetown
Really nice place, in the very center of Georgetown, you could walk to almost every interesting place. Highly recommended.

Overrated (unfortunately)
It pains me to say this, because the staff is very nice, friendly and attentive, but to me this place is overrated and overpriced, so I cannot recommend it. I stayed 6 nights. The main problem is that there is a family living there: husband and wife (I assume) and a young daughter. Perhaps some will like this, but they occupied the living room and the small eating area. While I was welcome in both, I felt like I was intruding on their lives. They did homework in the eating area (loud language practice) and watched TV and listened to music in the living room area. Those are the only public areas. Adding to the problem is the entire place is very dark, with no windows and low light. So I stayed in my room while there, which also had no windows (to the outside; there was one that looked out to the hall, but I kept my curtain closed). Other problems: mosquitos in my room every night (they kept the outside-facing door to the bathroom wide open at all hours, which is probably why), shared bathroom is downstairs for those on the upper floors, coffee was instant and caked to the bottom of a jar (I had to buy some Starbucks packets), no breakfast (only cookies; he was nice enough to offer bananas once), no patio (no opportunities to socialize/relax outside). The positives are that, again, the man and his wife are friendly and helpful, it's safe, and it's in a pretty good location at the northern end of Little Italy.

It's like you have your own place
I stayed here for three nights. The place is really quiet and immaculately clean, but the staff is rarely there and the toilet paper was out for two days. The first two nights we had a smaller room further off the front and while a little cramped for two, was much better for sleep purposes. DO NOT take the front room. The noise from the street is loud - it's like you're sleeping on the curb. I rarely saw any other guests, although the place was apparently full hence why we paid more for the larger front room. It's super quiet, and in a fabulous location in Little India. There appear to be two staff members, the man is helpful and speaks English, but I couldn't communicate with the lady even in gestures (not her fault - I'm in her country not vice versa). Much of the day no one appears to be there, although security is good and via electronic key fob system. I would recommend this place if you're looking for cleanliness, quiet (except in the front room), and comfort as long you're willing to sacrifice any type of social atmosphere, and can get by with minimal staff assistance. The term "hostel" is a bit of a misnomer. More like a guesthouse where you can enjoy peace and quiet and be left to your own devices.

Great find in george town
Stayed here while applying for a visa. Had a double room with private bathroom. Arrived late afternoon, warmly greated by the staff. Shown to my room, helped with baggage and local info. Room was clean and as advertised. A little small, v. Small shower and toilet but no sink, no window, tv no working channels in english and a small table. All in all for the price its good. Comfy bed, reasonable wifi, nice and helpful staff, great location not noisy. Tea/coffee in the morning. Walking distance to little india, chulia st etc. Local buses easy to use. Food nearby. The staff are very knowledgable and helpful they even drove me to the embassy. Cant ask for more than that

Peaceful and quiet, friendly owners
I stayed here for two nights. The owners were very friendly and eager to help me with any questions I had about the town. They pointed me to some interesting landmarks. It was a very quiet, clean hostel, and a great place to get a good sleep. The owner is a talented artist as well, and the decorations are modern and minimalist.
