The hotel looks quite old from the exterior but the doorman was extremely helpful. The interior have lots of refurbishment works to do but is still acceptable. Room is clean. The bath area is still the bath tub type, making it very difficult to shower a small kid. The low water pressure from the shower doesn't help but the temperature can swing from warm to either very hot or cold. Location wise is perfect. It is only 7 minutes walk to Emporium, where the BTS station are. Only setback is, the route to Emporium not stroller friendly. We have to push our stroller on the road due to no ramp onto the pedestrian walkway. Otherwise, it is a recommended hotel.

Great location, older hotel”
Pros: very clean, and location is amazing for the price. Staff are all very friendly and will do their best to accommodate requests. Cons: the picture of the pool makes it seem like a huge oasis. It’s a pretty small pool, on the ground floor. All in all, really nice spot. Is it worth the “real listed rate” of $200? No. Is it worth the discounted price? Yes, absolutely.
Value for money stay in city and close to BTS”
I booked the basic room and that is what i got nothing luxury. Simple decent sized room for the price. Other hotel will get you a smaller room around this area. Walking distance to BTS and rainy season needs to bring umbrella around. Room wall is paper thin and at times can be noisy with business travelers closing the door real rough. Breakfast not worth the price since i stayed here before and this round i option out. There are places close by or at shopping mall which can settle our breakfast at half the price. It is one of the budget option to stay around sukhumvit soi 24~26 area.
A nice hotel. Breakfast was good, room was fine. Staff were good. Pool was small. Depending on the deal I would stay again.
For smoker hotel”
We booked non smoker room but were given a room on a for smoker floor. We had to put towel and tissueto prevent cigarette smoke from entering the space under the door. The shower temperature was difficult to adjust, so we had either a very hot or cold shower. Very uncomfortable.
Old fashioned hotel, but large quiet room with convenient location near BTS ”
The hotel is located at 5min from BTS Phrom Phong station and there is one seven eleven convenience store hereby, and there are a lot of local foods restaurants and Japanese restaurants. The hotel room size is quite big: however, the room decoration is very old fashioned style as well as old toilet and bathtub and facility. The attitudes of reception ladies were quite rude without any smiles, but the door boys' services were very professional. As the price is really reasonable, I will consider staying at this hotel in the future, too.
Different information ”
I booked deluxe room, but the room we stayed was totally different form what we saw on the agoda site and details. So, I complained that to the front staff, but they said the room was deluxe and they never changed it. The conversation and TV sound from next room disturbed our sleep. Location was good from BTS, but the road is not flat so hard to carry our baggage. Big shopping malls around and food court have every kinds of food. Staffs are nice especially door man, so I only regret about the room quality and want agoda to request to have right and clear information about the room grade. Otherwise what we believe when we book??
nice place and clean room
Nice quiet place. Friendly door staff. Tuk tuk to Asoke station till dark”
Great room. For price. A km walk to Asoke or phrom phong BTS. Didn't change sheets when made up room. until I asked. No top sheet and that silly big blanket cover you know they rarely change. Pool is ok for Laos but 3 strokes. Not to much shade or seating but good views. I liked the quiet. Worth the walk.
Great hotel! Very clean! Great location!”
This hotel is such great value. The location is excellent being close to the BTS station. The owner seems to have a long standing loyal customer base made up of Japanese guests. As such, the hotel meets the stringent cleanliness requirements of your typical Japanese executive type. The hotel is a little on the older side, but this was irrelevant to me due to the level of cleanliness that is maintained. Strongly recommended.
Great location and value for money ”
Location wise within walking distance to BTS station and around the hotel there are plenty of places for food and shopping. Room is clean and breakfast has sufficient options to choose from. I will stay here again if needs to be in the town area.
Close to BTS and lots of food around the area. I liked the atmosphere and it was clean but the only thing is to make sure you get a room on the other side of the hotel next door. They had an event or something and can be heard in the room one night. Didn't last too late so I was too disturbed. Otherwise it was a pleasant stay. I would come again.
Highly recommended, great deal on Sukhumvit Soi 26”
This is my first time and I stayed one night at St. James hotel. Hotel Staffs are very friendly and professional. The location is very close to BTS Prompong station, about 5 min. The room is very clean and big space. And overall, the cost for this class hotel is lowest in the Sukhumvit Soi 26 area.
Excellent in choice”
St.James Hotel is strategically located in Sukhumvit 26, within a par-5 walk to the BTS Phrom Phong, and nearby shopping Emporium and plenty of F&B and massage centres. I've stayed in this Hotel for the past 15 years all the the time during my Bangkok visit. No regrets.
Good value for money & ideal location”
St. James Hotel is my choice hotel to stay in Bangkok for the past 20 years on my bi-annual golf holiday trips. Nearby Phrom Phong BTS to hiz around town. Emporium shopping complex is a 10mins walk away as with many F&B outlets & recreation activities.
My Favorite Hotel”
St. James Hotel is conveniently located in Sukhumvit 26 which is a short distance walk to BTS Phrom Phong and nearby Benjasiri Park. Accommodation is clean and comfortable. Staff are very friendly and most of them recognise me being repeat customer there. Good F&B outlets, Emporium shopping complex & massages all within the area.
Nice service and a good bargain hotel”
It's an old hotel and a little bit far from the main street but there are always taxi outside. The employees there nice and always with smile. I felt welcomed from the very first moment when I checked in. The room is clean. good!
Great little hotel ”
I really like this place. The rooms are well appointed with a nice bed and corner couch, and a decent desk chair. The bathrooms aren't as modern as I would really like, but they have a bathtub, and they're certainly not bad. The place is quiet, the staff are polite and friendly. This is my go to place for an economy hotel, and way better than some more expensive places. Tucked away on Sukhumvit Soi 24, a few minutes
Value for money - Good location”
Overall is good. Friendly and helpful staffs but limited English - a little bit hard to communicate. Good location (~~10mins walk to BTS) but if you have stroller, you cannot use it since the pavement is up and down & no lift to go up to BTS . Room is clean. If you stay at the front building, the view is fine but if you stay at the other side, it's overlook the wall of another building. One minus point - the lift is too small and was stuck in the middle once but quick support from the staff to help us out.
