Excellent”
Enjoyed the stay - the hotel is in a very convenient location for the main museums in Kensington and has lovely staff. The room was also very clean and even cleaned during our short stay. The only (minor) issue as the hotel is otherwise well-maintained was with the bathroom/shower room as the fan needs replacing to prevent mould and the shower rail also needs replacing as you can't adjust the position of the shower. But otherwise, the hotel was very pleasant.

Unbeatable Value...”
The price for this location is literally unbeatable, 2 minutes walk to the shops/restaurants and bars, 15/20 minute walk to Kensington Gardens ( beautiful place ) All the Embassies are nearby too. 5 minute walk to Earls Court Underground. Is it the Ritz no, but you won't get better for the price you pay. The staff were friendly, kind and helpful. Would fully recommend to any traveler's on a tight budget. We will book here again the next time we are in London. Big thank you to all at St Marks Hotel.

Yeah, not bad”
Stayed here a few times now, on business and just for a couple of nights each time. I was in room 7 this time, a ground floor room looking out to . . . some kind of wall, it looked like, not that that really bothered me, as it was pretty much dark for most of the time I was in the room anyway. Room was good, facilities were good . . . can't really complain. Didn't have breakfast, so can't comment on that. One thing I like about this hotel is how quiet it is, as it's set back from busy roads and tube / train lines. So yeah . . . I would definitely recommend this place.

Great budget hotel”
I've stayed here a few times now. This time I was in room 12. Yeah, it was all good. Only minor quibble this time was that the shower drain was a bit clogged up, so it didn't drain all that well. I probably should have mentioned this to the staff, but completely forgot. Apart from that, everything was great. Would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to staying again in the future.

Near to bus and train station”
They upgraded me from double to a quad room. Which was great because i had more space to move around. However there is no lift in the hotel, so i had to carry my luggage up the stairs. Luckily my room was on the first floor. The location of the hotel is good. Very near to earls court train station. And there are lots of restaurants to dine (halalguys, kfc, nandos, pauls). I will stay here whenever i come to london next time.

Our room was very good”
Despite of the bad reviews, our room on the ground floor was very clean. (Maybe we were just very lucky) Good hair dryer. Clean toilet. Supermarkets and coin laundry near the station. Large Tesco 1km away. Breakfast is minimalistic but ok.

Best value for money”
Booked this hotel as it was the cheapest one I could find near the tube station. Bonus was the microwave and fridge inside every room (save a lot on meals!). Do not add the free breakfast if you're staying for a couple nights. It's the same everyday and it's not great. Better buy food from nearby grocery stores. There is also no lift so it was quite a workout carrying my 30kg luggage to the top floor. But beggars can't be choosers! It's sad really how hotels can be expensive in London but it is what it is.

Staff is friendly. Although the Hotel is old, the rooms are renovated and clean. Hotel is 2 minutes walking distance to Earl Court Underground Station. Breakfast is basic.

Good location but the hotel cleaning standards and cleaning staff kindness must be reconsidered. ”
Hotel location and front desk staff are very nice. The room fournitures are old (noisy bed springs). The first night I couldn’t sleep because of the low temperature in the room. A refund was informally asked but not provided. An electric heater was given. The same day an amount of black mold came out of the shower sliding doors.I asked for a cleaning but the next day the majority of the scale was still there. I used boiling water to sterilize it.There was black mold in the bathroom ceiling and in a corner behind the bed. The third day I couldn’t use the lavabo, plug blocked until next day. The general cleaning of the room was poor! There was lot of old dust at all the corners, next to the window, on the walls and inside the heater. The room was not regularly cleaned unless asked. The cleaning/breakfast staff is not professionally kind. Some times I had no answer to my greetings. They made me feeling not welcomed at all. A customer must be treated with kindness at any time!

Small Room with breakfast”
The Hotel Room is small and no elevator. You need to bring your own luggage and not recommended for older people as you need to take stairs to bring your luggage. The good thing is the hotel provide breakfast for free

Disgusting”
Room was disgusting, when we got up stairs we noticed there was a smell, after looking around and finding dirt everywhere I looked in the microwave and found old cooked mouldy burgers that smelt so vile I was almost sick. The man at reception changed this but didn't organise a cleaner to come up.but he swapped the microwave. Breakfast consisted of cheese that was so sweaty I can only assume it had been leftout for days. Cereal was stale and milk was out of date. Definitely will not be coming back here.

The worst experience ever. It was so dirty and the receptionist are so rude. They gave us a room downstairs were we could hardly breath.

Better than some previous reviews- worth the money.”
Booked it, then read reviews and thought oh dear...never mind its only one night. Got there, found pleasant helpful staff, ok the room was at the top, lots of stairs, but it was quiet, well appointed enough for what you needed, coffee, tea, microwave, fridge. ok a few bits needed looking at, (cracked tile in bathroom floor etc), but you could tell it had been kept cleaned properly to the best shine that could be managed, the bed was clean, comfy, as well laid out on arrival as any of the usual premier inn etc. We slept well. Yes the stains on the stairs that look a bit like someone's dragged a body down the stairs (noted in earlier reviews) are still there, but don't let that put you of! Breakfast was ample (continental) well administered by pleasant two ladies, and reception staff helped us with directions for our following day around London. And it cost roughly the same as a Premier inn in Kettering (where?!) last week, for a London hotel. Don't grumble !

Good value for rooms. Some rooms better than others”
First time I stayed here I was in a first floor room, which was a generous size and gave a pretty good review for. Second time, I was given a basement room, which wasn't as good. The room was noisy, being nearby the breakfast area and various pipes running through or outside the walls. The room was also decidedly pokey - no way near as spacious as the first floor room. So yeah . . . bit of a mixed bag. Still, for the price, it still represents one of the better hotels in the area.

good location with very cheap price”
the location is prefect, 3 mins walk from earl's-court underground, and the station have two tube line covered(district line and piccadily line) very convenient to travel with central london! i was living in a double en-suits room, the room space is acceptable(just paid 40pounds) not that small, with a very big window! make it looks spacious. the equipments are new, just like renewed 6 month only, bath room+toilet is new and there is a separated washing area plus microwave and hot water boiler provided which i think can't find in any other budget hotel. the only pity point is no free wifi provided, charge around 15 pounds per day. simple breakfast.
