Unusual Location good for some, not others”
The hostel is on top of the hill, great views but you need to pay 2 euro to take the elevator up or down or there are stairs but not too nearby. The top of the hill is worth seeing but there is not much happening late at night there and no shops, the place didn't have a common room or kitchen and was a bit boring, a good place to stay one night and maybe have dinner there. Breakfast was ok, but I got a similar deal for a central hostel on night 2.

nice view but very far”
room is not clean, many spiders. locker in the room is not free! shower room and toilet is outside. free breakfast is nice! with beautiful panorama city view from the hill. no wifi because the modem was stolen? staff was friendly but not helpful, she asked me to wait while checking in because she was smoking...she should at least give me a drink for waiting right? No. the location is difficult to find and very far. you have to hike up to the hill and keep asking ppl there the way to this hostel. no one knows actually.

Hostel with extreme condition (best and worst)”
fantastic breakfast, nice paranomic view, reasonable price.
This place got the best view and best breakfast in town! You can even choose the hot drinks you want in the morning, can't really find this in other places unless you pay for the breakfast. The price is very good compare to other hostels in Salzburg. However, the breakfast should start earlier, say 8 or 830am, 9am is too late. We need to get ready early so that we can visit more places. Everywhere in Salzburg closed after 5pm, so time is important to visitors! The most inconvenient part is that the restaurant close at 6pm and there will be no one to entertain you after that. If you come back later than 6pm, you have to walk in dark for long distance and see no one inside the hostel (except some hostel-mates that come back early). If you encounter any technical issues (internet, shower, door lock and etc), no one can help you, pray for it not going to happen. They don't even accept food order after 5pm, that means you either have food outside and walk back in dark, or you come back very early to have dinner in their restaurant. Suggest the owner to give short brief to visitors who plan to walk up and down hill, this can help us a lot and save our bucks to take the lift! Overall, this is still a good choice, value for money paid.

Cozy mountain top view”
Loved the atmosphere of the place! Nice view, cozy restaurant, warm. Just darling.
The view was so beautiful! Located on the top of a hill, it's not the easiest to get to at first. You can either over pay for a lift, or walk to the side and take the stairs. Although the rooms were tight, everything was clean. The bathrooms even had heated floors! Breakfast was simple and nice, and it included your choice of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate. I wish the restaurant were open a bit later though. Everything closes at 6pm and I had a bit of trouble getting back in after eating elsewhere. All in all, it was Very beautiful and cozy!

Decent but great view”
Fantastic view, Greenery environment, Fresh air, cheap
It is located up in the hill so it is either you walk a looooooooong way up or take elevator which cost 2.50Euro/ trip or 3.50Euro/return. From the hostel, you can see the city view, which is amazing and that is why it is worth the price. Beside from that no expectation for any service. I checked in at 2pm. and went out to Festung then reached hostel again 8pm. At that time, there was no staff until you see them again in the morning serving breakfast for you. The key to the room is a bit annoying because you need to try to get it to the right track to unlock. Small place, ok breakfast, good price so it is reasonable.

best place to stay in Salzburg”
wonderful view, cozy and friendly
We would for sure stay there could not be a better place to stay in Salzburg. It was quite a hike up the stairs to the place but in the end for everybody who is fairly fit not a problem (just a few minutes that make you sweat) but there is also an elevator. The view even from the rooms is perfect and you are able to see the whole city. Rooms were clean, breakfast basic but delicious and we also had dinner there which was fantastic. Staff is friendly but seemed to be a bit stressed. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable. Would definitely stay there again!

Great location ”
Great location, great view of the city
Good. However, it is not recommended for travellers with heavy luggage. Also note the hostel rental is paid directly to the staff, not via Agoda. This was confusing to me as it had not been stated while booking.
