Tucked just off one of the busiest streets in Phnom Penh, the Star Wood Inn is an ideal place to stay. It is clean, quiet and safe. The staff are friendly and helpful. And Nick the tuk-tuk driver will take you any where you want to go for a fair price. The entire area is lined with restaurants and bars so you will be spoiled for choice. Highly recommended.
Easy in and out and helpful staff”
Starwood is a nice option with a good location in a nice middle class neighborhood just a bit west of downtown/river. I had a fine stay here for one night as I passed through Phnom Penh. Good size bed, wifi, etc. Recommend for simple nice accommodations.
Great location & nice ”
to star wood inn, thank for your waiting us at air port because our fly delayed around 1hrs....... staff very friendly & helpful..... in front the hotel easy to get "tut tut" go around the town.. the water pressure is very good for shower..... free wi-fi & very strong signal ..... room is very clean, cheap & comfortable....
Friendly and very helpful staff”
I stayed at the Star Wood Inn for 11 days and would stay again. The quiet street, good sized and clean room with big windows provided a nice comfortable environment to stay and for a very reasonable price. The smiling very friendly staff are always willing to assist whatever your need and were kind, attentive and very pleasant. Although located 10mins from main nightlife areas the resident Tuk Tuk's were readily available and knew their way around without trying to overcharge. There are also a few local restaurants providing good food at very reasonable prices and open past midnight. I will definitely stay here again.
Very friendly staff and high service.”
Was really delighted to be lodged at this hotel while my stay in Phnom Penh. Thank you
I must admit the room I stayed in was really nice and clean. There was an aircon which looked new and in good working condition. Toilet had ventilation. I have absolutely no complaints about the room itself. What I did not like about this hotel is that the lobby looked a bit mess. Many times hotels have impressive lobbies yet rooms are neglected but Star Wood was just the opposite. But i would rather choose a hotel with nice room than impressive lobby so Star wood is not a bad one for me.
Pleasant but a bit far from the heart of the city”
We stayed here for our first two nights in Phnom Penh. It was inexpensive, and the receptionist was very nice. However, we do wish that they wouldn't let tuk tuk drivers in the lobby, because we couldn't sit downstairs without them taking a seat next to us and asking about our plans for our trip-but what can you do. There is no elevator, so we had to go up 4 or 5 flights of stairs with all of our luggage, though they did have someone to assist us. The room was an average size, and clean. The shower was the same, though if you have a problem with a joint shower and toilet, you should be aware that this hotel does not have a tub or shower curtain to separate the two. We weren't bothered, though. We enjoyed the rooftop, which had only a few chairs, for a few minutes to take in the surroundings, though know fantastic views. We should say, we took this hotel because it was a bit cheaper than other ones, but we ended up paying more in the end because of the transportation fees (tuk tuks). Also, there were no notable restaurants in the area that we found we could walk to by foot.
Great Staff and Always a Pleasure to Stay Here!”
I have stayed in this hotel before. The staff is super friendly and nice. The room was nice and cozy. Great budget stay if you visiting Phnom Penh for 2 days stay :)
When i visit Phnom Penh, i alway go there. Easy find this hotel.
Located within walking distance of Toul Sleng ”
We stayed here for 3 nights. The staff were friendly. It's located within walking distance of Toul Sleng genocide museum. We got bitten by mozzies a bit in the reception area - this was the only place in Phnom Penh that we got bitten! Quiet location though just far enough away from a busy street to avoid the noise, but close enough for restaurants and bars.
Cheap hotel, friendly staff, budget value!”
I only stayed there for a few hours and 1 night. The room was quite clean, but the energy saving bulbs gave the room a gloomy, dark atmosphere. I would recommend Star Wood Inn to city explorers, who doesn't want to spend much time at the hotel. No fridge, small tv. Staff friendly, speak good English, smiles. Location not so great, in a poorly lighted street, but central.
Nice guest house!”
i had an interesting time with many experience in cambodia in february 2013. star wood in was one of positive factor to bring me such nice trip. i hadn't imagined how the temples there were so beautiful and grant until i got there. the feeling of touching them be hand was so excited. further more, local people are very very friendly in business manner which really suprised me alot. hope you a nice trip in cambodia as well!!
Had a great time there!”
First, the price was very affordable and worthwhile. The bedroom was good. Although the blanket was too small and thin, the furnitures were very nice and clean. The bathroom was nice, except for the small lightbulb above the shower was broken. One thing that's really impressive is the staffs, they were very kind, polite, and helpful. Overall I would give an 8.5 out of 10.
Good services but the location is not good”
The hotel is OK and services are nice. The facility is well. The free pick up service from airport is not bad. Well it is a little bit far away from riverfront, you need to take Tuk Tuk Cars. Also a little bit expensive if you want to take a whole day tour at Phenom Penh.
The hotel is very clean and welcoming. The room was a good size and the bedding and towels were clean. The shower was hot & the wi-fi worked well. The staff at the hotel were extremely helpful & friendly, and organised a bus for us to HCMC. The location is a quiet neighbourhood, but it is very easy to reach the main strip near the river and other tourist attractions too by tuk-tuk.
Friendly staffs, strategic location”
It’s in the middle of everything! Busy night life, Ben than market and war remnant museum are at walking distance(1-2km). Credit to the front desk staffs who were so helpful even after I checked out. Toilet cleanliness could be improved. Not much complains as the price was really fair. It was a short stay but I will definitely come back if I happen to visit HCM again.
Basically I got what I paid for”
the main reason why i booked this hotel was that they offered free airport-pickup, which is rather unusual for a budget-hotel in phnompenh, plus the cheap rate and the fact that the place is quite new. i wanted to organize my onward travel from there, and basically the hotel suited me for that purpose. it is far from the tourist mile at the riverfront, but that i knew before and it was okay for me. it is not far from the bkk1-area, which has plenty of nice restos and pubs and is usually frequented by expats and not tourists. actually walking distance (one night i walked back to the hotel, about 15-17 mins). a cambodia bank atm that does not charge the usual four dollars fee for withdrawals is about 600 mtrs north on the main road. a big lucky-supermarket around 600 mtrs south. so actually a lot of things u may need r available. the room i got was clean, but very small. not sure if this was because i booked a cheaper single room. it seemed that the double and twin rooms where a tad larger, though not much. the hotel has no elevator and the staircase with its narrow small steps is dodgy, though upon check-in, a staff member helped me with my (25 kg) case. pity him ^^ . unlike what they say on their website, there is no "minibar" or fridge in the room. probably they have no clue what the term "minibar" in the hospitality business means. they were probably referring to their fridge in the lobby, where they sold softdrinks and beers. but thats of course not a "minibar". there was not even a chair in the small room, so when i wanted to do some work online (wifi speed was okay and stable), i had to sit on the bed. so basically, and particularly considering the low room rate, this is not a bad place to stay, if you are okay with the location, but having no fridge in the room (i did bring some foods from my home in bangkok with me, that would otherwise have gone bad until my return) and not even a simple stool did bother me. not sure if i would stay there again. you decide
great staff and breakfast”
We were offered an upgrade but declined due to the location of the room being 2 floors higher than the original room, this was only because there was no lift which is the only downside to this hotel. The full English was just what I wanted after several month in Asia without a decent one. The hotel is on the right side of the city for the airport, which is why we chose it as we had limited time. We also extended our check out time for a very reasonable amount. We hired their bikes to go into the city for the day which meant we could see and do what we wanted in the limited time we had. I would happily stay here again.
the staff infront desk, the tuk tuk driver was so friendly and kind.the room was so good and comfortable.the location of this hotel was good.the hotel is really quiet nice for couples.good expresso in the morning.
Nice hotel to stay.”
It was please t to stay at this hotel. Staff and services was at very good quality. Street was not noise and by tuk tuk from hotel you can go easy to market, museum, river side, etc. we recomanded this hotel for you trip at Cambodia. Free pick up when you come need contact reception and let them know where you are.
