Starhaven is a star retreat”

This is the best B&B we have stayed in. We were visiting friends in the area of Indented Head but found there is so much you can do in the area. There are many wineries with outstanding views of the bay and outstanding food, there is a golf course close by and a ferry service to Melbourne. Ian's breakfasts have to be tasted to be believed...exceptional!

We loved staying at Starhaven for the beginning of our honeymoon. Ian was a gracious and hospitable host who would do anything to make sure our stay was exceptional. The facilities at Starhaven kept us entertained for two days, amongst enjoying the view and hanging out with Starhaven's dog Mickey. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

Fantastic place for a retreat! The room was immaculate, balcony views of the ocean, amazing rooftop balcony for panoramic views (and had a beautiful starry night), massive jacuzzi in the basement, indoor cinema, snooker table .... the place exceeded my expectations. Not too far from Geelong, Great location, beautiful sunrise views nearby, and great hosts!

My husband and I absolutely loved staying at Star Haven, the experience was one that we will never forget. From the moment we arrived we felt so relaxed and wanted to try and experience everything this amazing home has to offer. We started with drinks on the balcony enjoyed with Ian, Rob and Mickey, the views from the balcony are just amazing. The spa out the front was also a perfect spot to enjoy the views. Our room had a great balcony where we enjoyed watching a magnificent sunset whilst eating a delicious home delivered pizza. We then enjoyed the Gold Class Cinema, we felt like we were watching a movie under the stars, incredible, you have to experience this cinema to believe it. Breakfast the next day was even better than a 5 star Hotel, Ian is an incredible chef, we enjoyed chatting with other guests during breakfast. It was so hard to have to leave this amazing home and can't wait to return. Thanks Rob & Ian you are both incredibly generous, caring hosts.

Best Hosts You'll Find Ever...”

This would have to been one of the most enjoyable weekends away and made all the better by the wonderful hosts, Ian and Rob. As a big fan of Grand Designs Australia I recognised the property straight away when I searched for somewhere to stay on the beautiful Bellarine Peninsula and we weren't disappointed. Having seen the boys on the show we felt like we knew them already when we checked but felt like they were old friends by the time we checked out. Couldn't recommend this place enough and can't wait to share a nice bottle of Bellarine wine with them when we no doubt venture down that part of the world again. Thanks fellas.

This was an unexpected experience. Didn't realize it was a B & B because your website called it a hotel. Everything perfect and more for a B & B / Guesthouse, but, a big surprise, as we expected a retreat with less contact with the hosts/owners. We like our own space.

Portarlingtons Secret Hideaway”

We had a thoroughly relaxing stay and we were overwhelmed by the individual attention provided by the owners to every guest. Everyone was made to feel special. The facilities were outstanding and the location on the beachfront is very picturesque. We cannot recommend it highly enough.

It is a hotel bed and breakfast accommodation but the living environment is very homely and peaceful. We could relax totally and the hosts were very helpful and friendly and they left us alone to our own leisure.

Fantastic stay although too brief. I highly recommend staying two nights minimum to get the most out of your stay
