The hotel is conveninently located right across the street from the train station so you will be one step away from other locations like airport (7 minutes), various cities like Florenta, Parma, Verona Etc. (1-2 hrs), and also very close to city center (20 min. walk). The rooms are nice, clean and up to date - the only incoveninace I could identify is that they don't provide slippers or bath robes.

Ho segnalato eh la camera era ad una temperatura trono bassa ma mi hanno detto che non poteva modificarsi per il periodo che non è ne caldo ne freddo...mah, al ristorante poca scelta dal menu prezzi non giustificati dalla qualità del cibo inoltre non poteva addebitate sulla camera per un problema ... il bagno nonostante ampio non consentiva di lavarsi senza accostarsi al water e state inclinati per farsi la barba perché lo specchio non è stato messo al centro del lavandino ... insomma per un hotel del genere questi inconvenienti andrebbero evitati. Ottima la pulizia e lo staff

Booked this hotel to catch an early train elsewhere. It is not close to the main tourist area, you will either need to walk say 20 minutes or take a taxi there. Otherwise, its a decent business hotel.

Right Opposite the Rail Station - PERFECT for an Overnight”
Great for an overnight Train to Airport or vv. Breakfast huge selection. Lots of silly gadgetry in rooms incl the door lock - not user friendly at all. Daft designer!! Shower the floor so easy - just a part solid glass partition etc. But all clean, As a transit bedroom - excellent, Wifi in room hopeless. I am 3 million mile traveller - so.....

I have been to Bologna on business several times and the Starhotel Excelsior was by far the best hotel I have stayed thus far. The rooms are clean and lovely, the staff is wonderful and the location is walking distance to all of the shops and restaurants and across the street from the train station. Superb stay!

Stayed for two nights at this hotel in Bologna. It is located directly across from Bologna Centrale Train Station so if you are coming by train to Bologna from different parts of Italy it is an ideal location. It is also within 15 or so minutes walking of many of the sites within the old city. Besides location, the hotel staff was also a plus. We had a few questions and found the staff very friendly and helpful. The rooms and hotel in general are clean and well-kept with a slightly modern feel, particularly compared to many hotels I've stayed in Italy. Would stay here without hesitation if travels take me to Bologna again.

Convenient location, excellent breakfast”
The hotel is superbly located literally opposite the Bologna Centrale train station, and is a 5 minute walk to the airport shuttle stop, which takes you to the Bologna International Airport. The shuttle costs 6 Euros per person one way, and the ride takes about 20 mins, as the airport is located 6 kms from the train station. The room was clean, comfortable bed, with excellent selection of various types of pillows according to your needs. The breakfast was impressive with a wide variety of food - bacon, scrambled eggs, sausages, hard boiled eggs, cereals, cakes, cheese, mortadella, fruits, croissants, yogurt, fresh milk and fruit juices. An excellent choice for families, couples and business travellers. The staff at the front counter are very polite and helpful and speak impeccable English Language.

I arrived very late at night with worried how to get to the hotel with darkness around. But after I got off the AERO bus from the Bologna Airport, I see Starhotel Excelsior right away. Great location indeed with nice staff on top.The room was properly clean. But it would be better if the hotel provide the free internet wifi in rooms.

Very good location just in front of Bologna railway station. Surroundings are quite pleasant and safe as well as the bar and food shops nearby. City Center is very very close. Excellent concierge service, breakfast and bar/restaurant. Rooms are very quiet, big and clean. Value for money is guaranteed
