The staff were super friendly, got us in to a great room even though we showed up early, and were welcoming as we came in and out.

Our room faced State Street and it was a fun view as there was an evening parade going down State.

Charming hotel for a weekend getaway”
The Staypineapple is a great location! It's basically a 5 minute walk from the L trains, 10 minutes to the Art Institute and Millennium Park, 15 minutes to the Mag Mile and right across the street from Marshall Fields... ah... Macy's. The room was clean and comfy. Not that we were in much to watch TV, but we could stream content from our phones to the TV with no problem. The only downside is that they nickel-and-dime you for everything. We got a super cheap rate on Agoda, but then there was a $15/day "amenity" fee tacked on to the final bill. This was all upfront, so it didn't come as a surprise, but it still seemed excessive. The room is filled with adorable pineapple swag, which you can take home for afee. Make sense, but still seemed unfriendly that everything had a price tag on it. The staff were lovely, the location great, definitely worth it!
Most recommended to the person who First Stay in Chicago”
I came to USA for business trip to Grand Rapids, MI. So this is one of the nearest Big city from there, so I came here. For the trip, I read throu "Lonely Planet: Eastern USA", and they recommend ONLY this hotel for visit on Chicago. That is the most reason why I choose this hotel. Cause this hotel was founded late of 1800s, so it has more than 120 years of history. Inside the hotel I felt that kind of OLD things like, really small check-in counter, classic feeling elevator - I think they changed the door from frame style that we can see from the Al Capone style old movie :p The room looks modern style, but from the High Ceiling, I can feel really comfortable. It's because long time ago, there was not good Air-conditioning system, that's why they built it like this way. The bath room looks old style but clean. They using all the stuffs from KOHLER. Nice ;) The hotel Location is also really GREAT. You can go anywhere from this spot to the Downtown area by walk. And you can surprise that they have really NICE Gym facility in the hotel!! You can enjoy it while you stay. No swimming pool - but I can accept it.
One of the best in Chicago”
One of the best hotels in Chicago. Unique experience. Great location. But hotels shouldn't cost $500 per night (including fees and taxes) even during Chicago Marathon weekend...
Exceptional”
The nostalgia was great. The best part of this hotel is its location to everything. It's not a luxury hotel. It's very small. Parking rates are ridiculous. I would use again for a short stay but not an extended stay.

Great location and free unlimited bottled water.. Very comfortable bed.. The room is very clean and the hotel has an amazing atmosphere with antique theme
Fantastic”
Really enjoyed this hotel. Our room faced State Street and it was a fun view as there was an evening parade going down State.

We loved the location, the view, and the historic building. We did not have our dog with us, but saw people with dogs, and if we bring her next time, glad to know she's welcome. The staff were super friendly, got us in to a great room even though we showed up early, and were welcoming as we came in and out. Finally we loved the bedding, very comfortable.
Great location at a great price”
A charming atmosphere at a great location. The room was a little small but it was clean and comfortable. The staff was very polite and helpful, and although we didn't bring our dog with us this time, we definitely will next time as this is one of the most dog-friendly places to stay you will ever see.

One of the nicest hotels we've stayed in. Loved the vintage atmosphere. The great Atwood restaurant. Nice people.
Perfect location, friendly and helpful staff!”
We were celebrating a birthday and they sent champagne to our room! Ask if we needed help with a car, directions, or anything else. Just a great stay overall!! We will always look here first for a room when coming into the city!!
FAR FROM A BOUTIQUE HOTEL”
This property is as much a "boutique hotel" as a Red Roof Inn. The staff was apathetic. The rooms were far from inviting. There was nothing 'boutique' about this unless one thinks boutique means small and applies this to the bathroom where one can't use the toilet without the door open (in between one's legs) or closed because the room is so small. For a business traveler or for someone expecting "boutique," this is not your hotel.
All things pineapple ”
Truly loved the concept. Super clean and staff was friendly.

Great location! Very comfortable stay!
What the XXX...”
What justifies their prices? Honestly, I have no idea. It's Chicago, yes. But price value ratio was incredible bad. And the atmosphere is not that special as they make you believe on their nice glossy magazines. A simple, but little bit fashion hotel with a good location. The rest was intermediate to poor for my family and me. And $67 for a car park??? Do your guys sing a good night song for my car or does it sleep in a bed or what is wrong? Truely not recommended.
Excellent hotel”
