More about Stazione Centrale

Many travelers to Milan first arrive by high-speed train to Stazione Centrale, north of the city center. Every day about 320,000 passengers pass through the station using about 500 trains connecting to several European cites and many Italian long-distance and regional destinations.

Hotels near Stazione Centrale are often the first choice of business travelers for their excellent transport links and proximity to Milan’s business district and exhibition centre. The station is a short walk from the Piazza Duca d’Aosta in, a large and busy square, and the elegant Pirelli Tower. However, all of Milan’s most popular attractions are just a 10-minute metro ride from the station. There are a number of good restaurants in the area, and the station itself contains a food market with just about anything you might need to eat or drink, with exceptional food stands selling 'Milano-style' salami sandwiches. It is recommended that visitors be careful with their personal belongings inside the station. While Milan itself is considered a safe city for visitors, Stazione Centrale is the most likely place to have items stolen.
