Nice Guesthouse in Okinawa”

Perhaps the best shower I have seen in any guesthouse

Stella Resort was a good value. I enjoyed the green plants in the lobby. The staff were fairly good. The only complaint I had was related to the smoking. It is not the nicest feeling to be covered in smoke after a shower (the hotel allows smokers to smoke next to the shower area on the rooftop). Other than that, the hotel is fine.

Great location for bugeted traveller”

Good location to excel the local markets in Naha

Don't be fool by its name, Stella is an inn with compact rooms and dormitory. Stella has good location to access varies attractions i.e. 8 minutes from the monorail station; 5 minutes to the main shopping street in Naha; 2 minute to the Pottery Museum and its in the heart of local markets. All basic facilities are available and some modification works are under construction. Common areas are not clean enough.

A great place for travellers on lower budget.”

It was comfortable, and has a great location, for a low price tag.

I stayed in a dormitory for 4 nights. The dormitory itself is great, you get a cubicle with a bed, a little security box, an outlet, and some space to put your stuff. The room is air conditioned at night, and the bed is comfy enough to not have any problems sleeping. Although, the room itself is quite small, and thus the beds are quite short, best suited for someone under 180 cm (otherwise your feet would stick out from your cubicle.) The hallway lights in the room is always on, so you won't get a pitch black environment to sleep in (but the curtains are probably adequate in blocking the light for most.) And like most dormitories, you won't get much audio privacy. The toilets are small and slightly dirty. The showers, however are great. There are amenities provided, although there is no place to dry your towel, so that might become a problem. The location is not hard to get to, but it doesn't stand out, so you might just not notice it. But it is away from the main road, away from the traffic and noises in the night, great for a quiet place to rest.

we stayed for about 1 week because we got stuck by a typhoon. Staff rearranged rooms each day to fit us in. Some nice big rooms which are really good for the price but watch out for room 1, small corner room with little head space. air con is 100 yen for one hour.

Need to pay additional cost for air-conditioning! ”

Close to shopping place and tourist spots

Not comfortable at all living there. There is no lift or escalator in the hotel. We need to carry large luggages by staircase. The room is not clean and looks old. We can see dust on the table. The biggest problem is we need to pay additional cost (100 yen per hour) to use the air-conditioner. Not worthwhile at all!!! Need to use the common bathroom and toilet, not convenient. Although the hotel is quite close to the main shopping street, the location is quite secret that we took an hour to find the hotel. When we arrived at the hotel at 10 something, the staff already off work and there was no more staff there to serve us. The staff left us 2 door keys at the reception and we need to explore the hotel by ourselves. This hotel is not recommended.

Great for backpackers only”

Location, Price, Easy Access

Well Im not sure how to start this review, I knew this was a backpackers budget hotel when I booked it but I was not prepared for just how "budgeted" this was. First of all, the room was only a tiny space with a bunk bed and a tv that did not work. The aircon is NOT free, its about 100 yen per hour and you WILL need it because the place is like a sauna. The beds had no sheets, was a thin futon in a wood bunk bed and no blankets or pillows. I had to use my laundry as a pillow the night I stayed. The lock on the door was flimsy and looked like anyone could break it barehanded and barge in. The showers were the same way. I honestly felt a bit unsafe at this hotel as nothing seemed secure. I think if you are on a very tight budget and are not afraid of a college like atmosphere then this is a great place to make friends and learn about local life. The staff were friendly and helpful and the location was great, right in the middle of the shopping district but I think if you are needing a restful nights sleep you are better off going somewhere else.

pretty cool hostel”

atmosphere of common spaces

There is a good vibe here. The common spaces are welcoming and clean, and there is plenty of opportunity to relax and socialize outside of the rooms. Rooms themselves are functional, very basic, but a good value. Internet is fast! :) This is at the end of a central, covered shopping avenue, so easy access to restaurants and shops. (It's under the dome, if you have trouble finding it - it's easy to miss the sign.) Not more than a ten minute walk to the monorail. Close to Kokusai Dori.

Hot Oven”

The shared reception area is nice as are the spa-like showers and effort to make the place tropical. However, the place is not very secure with flimsy locks and a front door with a CTTV and notice about police which tends to be left wide open by guests at night. The biggest issue however for us was the room itself - it was incredibly hot and like an oven with air-con that you had to pay 300 to start and 100 per hour after that. The air-con kept faulting and turning off which meant a further 300 to get going each time. The window was permanently shut so no chance of any air without the air-con. The electricity cut off during the night so we were barely able to sleep in this box. It was really disappointing and a critical element to a decent night's sleep. The girls next door in their room just kept their bedroom door open the whole night due to the same issue. They tried to call management at 1 am to fix the lack of electricity problem and the heat.

Acceptable”

This was a absolutely terrible place. First of all in the website, nowhere does it say that you have to pay 100 yen per hour for A/C and it barely even works! The bed takes up the whole room and then you have one other tiny area which does not count as a room. Spending $45 on this places is wrong! Do not do it! Luckily the staff worked with us and refunded us a day so we could leave to find another hotel. The only thing that was relatively good was where it is located at in which it is by Kokusai Street.

Horroble”

location, internet, cleaness of the shower booth

It was horroble experience for me to stay here for a night. I stayed on the 4th floor single use room. First of all, you should put coin to use A/C!! the room was too hot to stay without A/C. It was impossible to sleep without A/C cuase it doesn't have fan even. Consider about the cost for A/C. And the wall between two rooms is too thin. You can hear every single sound from the next room. Every sigle sound!! You will feel like you are staying in the same room with the person.
