Excellent Location, Friendly Staff!”
my friend and i recently stayed here since we had a concert to go to at madison square garden. it was literally 100 steps away!! the lobby was gorgeous, the staff was exceptionally friendly (they even upgraded our room to a 1bdrm suite upon learning that it was my friend's first time in nyc!), and the rooms were great! although the decor was a bit outdated and there were a few areas that improvements could be made, there was ample space (a rare thing among new york hotel rooms!), was clean, and very reasonably priced. a short walk to the heart of times square had us nearby everything we could ask for, and we enjoyed our stay immensely, in part, to this hotel. i, as well as my friend, would definately stay here again!

The true NYC studio apartment experience”
The studio style apartment that I walked into was more than what I had expected. My sisters and I were taking a sibling trip to New York city and this hotel and location was the best pick for sure. The kitchenette was so practical, functional and even included a huge oven pull out style microwave that was quite impressive. The beds were smaller than what I had envisioned (as they were full size beds instead of queens) but the duvet and pillow menu definitely made up for it. The decor was really contemporary and although the bathroom was small, it was a nice touch as it reminded me of a standard NYC style apartment. The food Downstairs at Niles was quite amazing. The prices were reasonable, but the food itself was more than expected. Even the cheap $19 breakfast buffet had selections of food and tastes that could have been from a buffet line that was more expensive. The service was stunning and I could not have asked for a better experience. Kudos to the staff for being so accommodating.

Great location, helpful staff”
We had a five night stay at the Stewart as a family traveling as tourists. Staff was very helpful and welcoming, including helping us arrange a car to LGA with six people and a mountain of luggage going to two different terminals (better than the bus!). Beds were comfortable and the room was big by NYC standards. Only drama was when the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night, but that was hardly the hotel's fault as the DMV office next door apparently caught fire and some smoke drifted into the hotel's detectors. Better safe than sorry, I say. Hotel restaurant was excellent, had a kid's menu, and seated us without a reservation. My only complaint was the ATM in the lobby that charged $12 for a withdrawal. Other than that, recommend.

Cheerful staff, great location, good sized room for NYC”
We had a five night stay at the Stewart, which was an excellent choice for a family visiting NYC as tourists. Penn station (1,2,3,A,B,C trains), Macy's and the Empire State Building were all within walking distance. Staff was friendly and helpful., including arranging for a car to LGA for six people and a mountain of luggage. Beds were comfortable and room was clean. Only drama we had was when the fire alarm went off, but that wasn't the hotel's fault as, apparently, the DMV office next door caught fire and some smoke drifted into the hotel. Recommend.

Tired room, functional but needed a good clean in places.. beds were amazing and maid was lovely.”
Great central location, close to all New York sites and landmarks, subway very close and don't be worried it's not that scary... Quick way to get to Brooklyn. Forgot about the facility fee, my fault but tax also! Sure they would ask for a 15% tip if they could get away with it too. All being equal would use the Stewart Hotel again, thank you xx

Nice hotel, great location, comfortable room”
Nice hotel, decent size room (for NY). The staff were very accomodating and the location was perfect. The room was clean and the pillow menu was a PLUS! I was disappointed that there was no mini bar in the room (advertised on the web site), although there was a small fridge. The "in room" internet is outsourced to Lodgenet and is "super" ($15 a day) expensive. There is a business center, but it is also very expensive (you are charged for time used). The good news is that you can print boarding passes there at no cost. The room was also very expensive ($240 a night for a double / double), as compared to other trips to NY. I suspect it was because the hotel was a full occupancy. Overall, a very nice property in a super area. You are two blocks to the orignial, and largest, Macy's and less than a ten minute walk to Times Square.

Great friendly hotel, excellent location”
We had a spacious 1 bedroom suite with two bathrooms and a small kitchen for a family with small kids. The room was great, the staff very friendly and the location next to Penn station and close.to Chelsea Highline is excellent. The printer at the lobby was out of service for a whole day. We were able to print using the front desk email. Also the hotel has a ramp for strollers and accessibility, but it was only deployed one day out of the week we spent.

Good stay for both travel and business trip”
It is located in Midtown which is one of main area in NY and there is subway station as well near the hotel. (I don't remember the station name)Madison Square is just in front of you. Time square and Korea town is walking distance. Considering the price, the room is quite spacious compare to those in Soho area.

Choose this Hotel during peak season !”
the rationale behind my subject title is simple - it costs just $10/night extra for this nice hotel, as compared to the average hostel price. for that more, you get the convenience of a private bathroom and housekeeping ! furthermore, given the pathetic state of most ny hotels, it's comforting to have a 40 inch led tv hanging stylishly on the wall. you can't go wrong with a room like that.

Nice room but a little noisy”
hotel is in great location, close to where i needed to go, so that's the main selling point for me. room was nicer than i expected to get in new york for the price. the only thing that reduced the rating for me was that it was a little noisy.

Lovely hotel and wonderful, helpful staff”
We arrived to find we did not get the room we had booked from a previous stay....The room given was not big enough for 3 people. When questioned about this, the staff were very accommodating and upgrated us immediately to suite. I was very happy with the service and hopitality of the Affinia Manhattan and would not stay anywhere else while in New York.

Great location, very comfortable room”
The location was very central to everything in New york. Penn Station was across the road and easy to get to Newark airport. the metro was a block away. the staff were very helpful, friendly and welcoming. the room was perfect and the bed was just as comfortable as my own at home....which i think is a very important point when staying away.

I love this hotel”
i love this hotel. the location is great. it's just 10 minutes walking distance to times square. in front of the hotel there is train 1,2, n 3, and penn station is just across the street. the hotel is in the same street as h&m and macy, everything is so convenient. the room is newly renovated so everything is very clean and new. the staffs are very friendly and helpful. but for the light sleeper you might want to request the room that isn't facing the street, but for me i slept just fine. i definitely will come back...i totally love this hotel ps: did i mention that they have wonderful selection of amenities? well they do... :)

Friendly service, incredible Manhattan location, room well appointed in unique contemporary New York style, good attention to detail. Great location, Warm staff,Thanksgiving friendly”
hotel staff was so courteous and helpful. after new york, we were going for a train ride to washington dc from penn station. i was agonizing on how to carry all our luggage from the hotel to penn station. the concierge escorted us from the hotel right through to the trainline until we were met by the red hat guys at amtrak. it was not part of the hotel service but they went out of their way to help us. i couldn't thank them enough for all their help. i call this excellent customer service. wi-fi - is available at lobby. need to pay extra if you want access from your room. parking - car hire/parking not required. subway is just across. penn station is a major hub like central station.
