"A quiet and relaxing place with a fully equipped cottage."

Stewarts Bay Lodge manages to offer several different types of holiday - beach, rural, history, and luxury - all wrapped up into one perfect package. The direct waterfront access and views are taken advantage of from every location, and if the ocean is too tempting, the pristine Stewarts Bay Beach lies to the right, or the more secluded Ladies Bay, ideal for snorkeling, is to the left. Cabins with one to three bedrooms and fully equipped kitchens are set among the grounds, and each has a large furnished deck.

The lodge was really huge and well-equipped, from kitchen amenities to even washing machine and dryer in the room. We liked how spacious the cabin was and the view from the balcony was gorgeous. It was also very conveniently located from Port Arthur historic site. Only downside was the TV which had alot of interference. Wished we planned a longer stay here!
A perfect location to visit Port Arthur Historic Precinct and Tasman Penisula. Our log cabin was warm, clean and well presented. The kitchen is well serviced and the laundry room has a dryer.
Great warm and cosy. Hard bed. Plenty of hot water and really clean.
Room not too equipped when weather is cold”
Nothing much in Port Arthur to be explored. Food at Lavender Cafe is delish though.
Port Arthur visit ”
We have stayed at this location before and have always enjoyed the cleanliness of the cabins and the picturesque location. Dinner was excellent as always at the on site restaurant. We were a little disappointed this time to not receive the bedding configuration we had requested and had confirmed through the office, but made it work with our group. Would return again but look at multiple cabins if taking elderly relatives again, the bunks were very difficult.
Spacious Cabin with washing machine and dryer”
Clean and spacious cabins with friendly staff who will recommend where to go for aurora sightings. Location very near to the Port Arthur Pre-historic Site.
Very Very Good Motel”
Efficient, friendly and helpful Reception. Well appointed large room with outstanding ocean view. Bar, restaurant and bottle shop on site with supermarket across the road and RSL nearby. Highly recommended as a base or rest stopover. Well Done.
lovely winter retreat”
Have stayed at Stewarts Bay Lodge many a time but first time in a chalet. We had the bush setting one which was absolutely beautiful. The owners need to be very proud of the layout and decor. Dinner at Taylor's was as usual brilliant, we had the coconut fish and eye fillet steak, both cooked beautifully.
It's somewhat in the forest, cabins are fairly spaced out with its access to a reserve. Very spacious cabins. Receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Introduced the area with several tips. They also allow free rental of binoculars, DVDs and games. Excellent place at Port Arthur.
Can't complain at all. Everything was great except one thing. I suggest the management should avoid using cloth seat covers. I can imagine kids jumping on them, dropping food over them thus the unsightly stains.
This was the first accomodation we stayed when we arrived in Tasmania. The apartment was spacious and comfortable, with all the necessary equipment (fridge, stove, washer, dryer) to make us feel right at home.
Great place to stay!”
We stayed in Stewarts Bay Lodge only 1 night. We booked our room deluxe in Agoda but it didn't say what view we will have so when we arrive we got deluxe lodge with no view so we just paid extra 40 us dollar for 1 night. We will defiantly back to this place! So beautiful! So peaceful!
Located right next to the turn off to the Port Arthur Historic Site, Stewarts was a peaceful paradise. Once I arrived, I wished I'd stayed longer. You can enjoy a nice glass of wine on your balcony, a nice spa bath overlooking the bush or take a walk down to the waterfront at sunset. Fully self contained. No phone/internet reception unless you are with Telstra but that's a good thing. Loved my stay.
nice location... but that's about it.”
The lodge is getting a little old and will need and upgrade soon. Aside from the location, I don't know why would people pay that much to stay here. For those who plan to arrive after 5pm, please be sure to arrange it early. Otherwise, you may have to hunt around for assistance. For our case, we arrived at 7pm, there was a note on the reception door that says to check in at the restaurant. The restaurant was closed that day... We had to call the manager using a pay phone outside because there was no cell phone signal within the lodge area.. Turns out that all we had to do was to press the door bell at the reception. Anyhow... It took us almost 30 mins to check in....
Loved our Cabin! Very comfortable, self contained kitchen with everything that you needed. Loungeroom with large TV and DVD..Great balcony with bush outlook and we could see the beach. Stewarts Bay Lodge is great for familiies, Couples or a romantic getaway.. Gabriels Restaurant is cozy with large fireplace, great food, friendly staff. The owners are wonderful people and very welcoming. Would deffinatley stay again
Beautiful location and fantastic facilities, such great value for money. Very comfortable bed and couch, great cooking and washing facilities. Perfect location for Tasman island cruises and Port Arthur historic site.
Beautiful location and views, staff were friendly and efficient. Cabin clean and has laundry. Restaurant on site, small supermarket within walking distance. There is a fantastic boat tour where you catch a bus within walking distance of the lodge. The tour ends at Stewart’s Bay which is ideal. Loved our stay, wished we had longer there. Port Arthur Historic site is just a short drive away.
Great stay, Probably the best we had during our time in Tasmania. Location cannot be beaten. Loved the food at the restaurant.
Nice Nice place to stay. House is big and clean.”
Beautiful scenery. Good staff. We check in late but staff has arranged everything.
Very nice stay in a comfortable cabin”
We had a very nice stay at the lodge. The cabin was spacious and well equipped. We couldn’t hear any noise, we were in the middle of nature. The kids loved the playground, and the balcony.
