Great hotel centrally located”
I highly recommend The Strand Palace Hotel. It is centrally located at Soho area within a short distance by walking to many of London's most famous landmarks. Though the hotel is very good, one notice it was under renovation as some aspects still look a bit outdated - f. eg., the rooms doors and the rooms central heating. Most of the staff was super polite and kind with the exception of one of the guys taking care of storing the lugagge after check-out: he was absolute rude - when it came my time to store my lugagge he simply told in a brusque way "how many pieces? give me!". No, "hello Sir", "What time will you come back?", "Thank you", nothing. Totally unfit to work in a hotel like The Strand.
Strand Palace”
My wife and i stayed at the Strand Palace hotel for a three night break in february the hotel is clean and plenty of staff if you have any problems,it also serves a nice breakfast and is very well located for all the sights and attractions of Londons West End,Would stay here again no problem.
very well run hotel, Room clean.”
The Strand Palace Hotel is situated in an ideal possition for visting the sights of London. It is possitioned on the strand not far from Charing Cross. The Underground Stations -Charing cross & Covent Garden are nearby. Many buses pass by the door of the hotel & their routes take you into the City of london - St Paul's , Tower of London etc. The staff are courteous and helpful. There are bars to choose from & dining rooms serving good food.
Great priced accomodation for exploring city”
Our stay at the Strand Palace Hotel was very comfortable. The rooms were larger than i expected. The hotel was very close to covent garden train station, and within easy walking distance to many great historic and cultural viewings of London. The train line is the same line to get you to the airport (Heathrow) also, so that made our departure even easier. The area has many great shops and eating facilities within a stones throw. Highly recommend this location for anyone travelling or in London for business.
1 night in central London”
I don't stay in 'real' hotels often, preferring guest house accommodation, but The Strand Palace was perfectly located next to Covent Garden for what I wanted to do. Although the single room was well equipped and very clean, I've docked a star because of the manoeuvres that I had to perform to get the bathroom door closed once I was in there. The staff were friendly and efficient. Price was more than I'd normally pay for a night's accommodation, but hey, this is central London and it compared very well with other places locally. Didn't need the food which looked good but pricey.
Excellent Hotel in a great location.”
We were pleasantly surprised at how nice this place was. The room was clean and tidy, staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was tasty and plentiful, our only gripe with the dining facilities was the tables being too close together... even the staff had to squeeze past tables. There was plenty of space in the dining areas but the tables were not positioned with any care, something easily remedied. Overall, we had a great time in the Strand Palace and would recommend it if you go to West End shows.
Most convenient ”
Strand Palace Hotel is the most convenient hotel in London. I have been staying there almost every couple of years for around 30 years. Rooms are very small but that is old London and you enjoy the charm of this place. Not cheap at all but the standard is matches the price. Very old fashioned, charming, old English if that’s what you like b
Nice location and good service”
the hotel is located on a pretty big street with different restaurants and stores. just a couple minutes of walk to topshop and mcdonalds. about 10 minutes walking away from london eye and picadilly cirkus, and about 15 minutes of walk to oxford street. the rooms are not big but clean. and the breakfast buffé was very nice with a big variaty. i really enjoyed my stay at strand palace hotel.
Strand”
Had a great stay at the Strand Palace,we usually stay in Mayfair and pay twice as much for the hotel. Our room was on the small side, but everything in it you would need. It was quiet on a night, warm, what else do you need? The location as everyone says is fantastic,if you want a good cheap hotel in London book the Strand Palace.
Good Location & Great Room”
Me & My wife decided to stay in Strand Palace after going through a detail review of the hotel in the internet. We are glad that we have choose Strand Palace as a place to stay after all. The Hotel location is superb. It is very convenience to go to either shopping place like oxford street / covent garden or to some sight seeing place such as westminster abbey / Buckhingham Palace / London Eye as it is all within 10-15 min walking distance only and very near to the tube station(you are seeing a review from a person who only went to London 1st time !) It is also a one stop service available in a hotel where you can booked things from local tourist guide and even a local opera / drama ticket, which we find very convenience The Room is bigger than what we expected and clean which is very important.
Awesome location and decently priced.”
Overall, I had a pleasant experience at the Strand Palace Hotel. I was displeased that the hotel charged me separately when I checked in, even after I mentioned I pre-paid via Agoda, however, once I brought this to their attention, it was quickly resolved. The location is so wonderful in London and is close to all the tourist attracts or public transportation. Staff was friendly and willing to help out or answer questions in any way possible. The walls are really thin and you can hear neighbors plug in electronics on the opposite wall, but they do provide a fan to help drown out the noise. The rooms are also a little small, but nothing that was too cramped. I would definitely stay here again.
Good location”
The Strand palace is in a great location, in the midst of bars restaurants and theatres. The rooms however are small and almost claustrophobic, but clean, nice bed , tv and great shower, so if you are out and about and just sleeping there its fine. Huge number of rooms and three lifts so always full in the mornings with guests going down for breakfast, so we used the stairs from the 4th floor. The Gin Palace bar is worth a visit although very expensive, good selection of gins and cocktails. Breakfast served in a restaurant on ground floor, the usual buffet with everything on offer although sadly no egg chef and tables a bit close together and you may have to queue for a table. Would stay there again
Service of Excellents”
I reccomend the Strand Palace Hotel to anybody, the staff is excellent, the rooms clean and welcoming, the breakfast deliscious and with lots of different item for every taste, an experience that i will never forget, i will stay at the Strand Palace Hotel in the future, is my favourite hotel ever, AMAZING !!!!
A taste of british stay”
Entering the Strand Palace Hotel, I was treated like part of a royal family because the doorman greeted me as "Sir". (Can't deny that it is a pretty good feeling.) There are two sofas in the lobby, allowing me to sit there and wait for my friend. Checking into my room, everything looks perfect as the bed is comfortable and everything is reachable at waist level. The toilet is well-ventilated and the towel is placed on the heated racked. The hotel even provides the anti-slip mat. The only short-coming is that the toilet roll rack is too near the W.C. If you are right-handed, it will be a bit uncomfortable to sit still.
Comercial hotel in great location.”
The Strand-Palace hotel is in a wonderful West End location. It is within easy walking distance of theaters, historic sites, good restaurants.
Awesome location but noisy because of it”
We booked the hotel based on location and value offered. We had a Strand facing room which provided a great view and ventilation however was noisy at night. I like to sleep with either a window open or air conditioning for air flow so this resulted in a bit of disrupted sleep. I'll say though I would still prefer our street facing room than one of the courtyard or lane facing ones by the looks of the map. The bed was only a double but I'm sure that was listed on Agoda when we booked but didn't take notice. At least it was comfortable. Hair dryer was very poor, under powered, overheated and stopped after a short time. Minor things really. Overall one of the nicer hotels I've stayed in London at this price range and at a top location!
Great Location”
It is my second time to stay in this hotel. This time I got lucky and was upgraded to the executive suite. This was so much bigger than the single room and was neat and tidy as last time. The Strand Palace Hotel is well located within walking distance of Trafalgar Square, close to both Temple and Charing Cross tube stations. This save u lots of time for traveling around London. There is a multitude of food options just down the block. The concierge serice was quite helpful for getting transportation suggestions, such as which tube or bus to take to certain sites. I would strongly recommend to this anyone who would like to stay in london for a short trip.
great location, quiet,good services,friendly staff”
i found the strand palace hotel was located in a central area, available to all kinds of activities. the doormen were very helpful and friendly. the concierge had excellent advice.the room was quiet and clean well serviced. the underground train was easy to get to. i would stay there again with my family on vacation or on business.
Very good”
We booked a weekend at the Strand Palace staying in an executive King size Room. Prior to leaving home, I phoned up the hotel to inform we would be arriving late at 10pm & to please hold our room. Due to Delays at Gatwick (Airspace congestion & then No Ground Crew) followed by cancellation of the Gatwick Express train and then further delays and cancellations of other trains - we eventually arrived at the hotel four hours late. The room we were given keys for was a shoddy damp smelling non refurbished standard room with a grotty bathroom bang opposite the very noisey lifts with scaffolding outside the internally facing window - where workmen are working during the daytime. We were surprised as the hotel was undergoing refurbishment work when we stayed four years ago. Clearly this hasnt finished. Subsequent complaint at the front desk resulted in a discussion with the night manager who revealed there were categorically no available Exec King rooms - not even a reserve. However he showed us to a refurbed standard king room with an outside view. This was a better room - but still not what we had booked. As a sweetner we were offered a room transfer to the sixth floor for the following evening - Saturday - along with vouchers for £30 to be spent on food & drink in the hotel. So after a deep sleep and an excellent buffet breakfast in the morning we returned later in the afternoon to find our bags had been transferred as promised to a larger refurbed room on the sixth floor with two outside windows, a super king bed and a sofa. Also a Krupps Coffee Maker & a kettle too. This was a much nicer room than the first miserable room we had been offered. In the evening before going out for dinner - we invited our two guests to meet us at the Hotels in-house cocktail bar opposite reception called The Gin Palace. At £12 a measure of gin and £6.40 for a bottle of Peroni beer - the two £15 vouchers didn't go very far and fell well short of a round of drinks for four! After another goo
Great Location ”
A friend recommended Palace Strand, so we booked through Agoda website. The price was about what all the other hotels of this quality go for. The location is excellent if you are interested in attending theater or walking to Covent Gardens. It is also a short walk to Trafalgar Square and the Seine Riverfront area. The hotel room and bathroom are very small. The room was very clean, comfortable bed and staff acceptable. The ftont desk personnel could be friendlier. The concierge, doorman, and housekeeping staff were great. We bought the breakfast which was very good (10 pounds extra).
