Not bad for a single person staying for the New year event”
Got a room for just a single person when I went for the new year event, 180 AUS for two nights, kind of noisy in night cause close to the strathfield station and the roadside, no air-con in the room, but still a fair price to stay for the new year.

Very convenient for train travel”
I needed a bed for the night in order to catch an interstate train next day. Nothing fancy, just a bed for the night. The Strathfield hotel is directly opposite the train station so very convenient. Can get a reasonable meal for a reasonable price as well. A bonus was that I was able to leave my luggage there after check out giving me a chance for a quick sight see around Sydney before getting on the train. Will definitely make it my stopover place when travelling through Sydney by train.

What can I say about the strathfield that hasn’t already been said? It’s 20 mins train to anywhere you want to go in Sydney and the bar downstairs is excellent. The hotel is what I would expect an early 1900s hotel to look like. The rooms are downtrodden and beds are a bit hard. Ask for the upgrade to deluxe room with private bathroom. If someone invested a bit of money and paint this place would be a real gem!

Hotel is dated but clean enough, good location, poor wifi, asked for a large bed got like a childs single bed, alot of noise, very expensive for whats probably less than a single at a backpackers, rooms charging 95-115 when they should be more like 60-70. Better off staying at a proper hotel for the price Strathfield charge.

Checked into a room and someone was already in there. Waited a further 1hour to even be checked into another room. 4 people I had asked to please help me, and that's how long it took to get a room. After finally getting a room, the TV did not even work and a stranger unlocked my door when I was half naked at 10.30pm at night trying to sleep. I called the motel and they said oh, sorry about that. That's it!!! So I spent the rest of the night crying and feeling unsafe. Worst stay ever.

1: Old and broken equitment/ long time to wait the hot water. 2: Agoda commit price guarentee, however, just a few hours after book, the price dropped, but rejected to match price. 3: The hotel fee which charged was higher than Agoda confirmation.

Horror hotel”
Avoid at all cost! I booked for 5 nights but I left after 3 gruelling sleepless nights. Room has no windows and proper ventilation. Carpet hasnt been cleaned for 100 years. Shared bathroom is not cleaned daily with mould on tiles. Shower door broken. Staff can’t explain the invoice charges. This hotel should be shut down because it’s health hazard. I’m still waiting for refund of overcharge.

It can be a little bit spooky as it's a really old hotel. Other than that, all is good. Staffs are friendly, located next to Strathfield station and it's pretty clean. The ground floor also serves as bar.

This hotel suited me perfectly as getting treatment at Concord hospital it is across the road from Strathfield train station and us stop where I can get a bus direct to the hospital

Spartan but good value”
Small, sparse room with corridor walk to bathroom. But, VERY clean & bed quite comfortable. Hotel is opposite station on a busy road; there is noise all night- didn't worry me but light sleepers might have trouble. Hotel offers good but unadventurous food but within 500 metres is an extensive array of restaurants (especially Korean). Staff are efficient and co-operative. given position opposite Sydney's 2nd most important station, it is both convenient and value for money.

As budget as it gets”
This is a cheap hotel so you can expect too much. Sure the room is small, the furnishings are bare, and you can hear the announcements at the train station from your room, but it's as cheap as you can get and a 10-15 train ride to almost anywhere interesting in Sydney. If you just want a cheap bed for the night that's handy to public transport this place is it.

This was my 2nd stay, so I came back”
Affordable & clean accommodation, the staff are always pleasant. Lack of parking is a problem & needs to be organised at the time of booking to be able to secure one of the few spots. Parking in the street costs money before 6pm. I'm making it a habit staying here whenever I go to a concert at Olympic Park as there's easy access to trains just across the road & the Hotel is open when we get back so we can have a drink & talk about the concert

Clean comfortable and convenient”
We enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were clean and spacious and there is a lovely pub underneath. The only thing we have to complain about really is the fact there is no elevator. Considering it is right next to the train station and they're bound to get a fair few people with suitcases/backpackers, it's not ideal to have to carry them up 4 flights of stairs! That being said, when we had gotten over that we did enjoy our stay. Comfortable beds and nice and clean.
